Creating an Eye-catching Beauty Image using Hard Light

We'll also talk about how you can achieve flattering light on the skin, even when your main light is a hard light, with one of my favorite modifiers, the fresnel.

Can you achieve the same or similar effect without the Fresnel?

It depends on what you meant by same or similar. The same way that a beauty dish can create light similar to a 3ft octabox but definitely not exact the same. Know what I mean? An optical spot can create similar, but is not the same.
