I took my wife and kids in the new Cirrus SR22T!

- After getting the new airplane home I gave several quick rides to friends that day. The following day we went back to the hangar and I took my wife and kids up for their first flight in the new airplane. My wife has flown with me a half dozen times or so, in both my Cessna 172 and other Cirrus, but this was my kid's first time flying in a small airplane. They never had much interest before, but I guess now that they see it sitting there in the hangar they're more excited about it.
Well, turns out they're more excited about the headsets and intercom than the flying part, hah!

Idk where the Audio was being recorded but he could also have used the Crew/Pilot Isolation. One of the best features if you have 2 people talking in the back :).

My wife and i were smiling ear to ear listening to the back seat conversation. Our kids are growing up so fast that I think it reminded us of how cute and silly they were when they were younger. You have a beautiful family. Safe travels!!

I used to do Grandpa duty for my son and daughter-in-law by picking up my two granddaughters from elementary school years ago. They were chatterboxes too. Both girls are in college now. I miss those days.

The two little cherubs definitely stole the show. Mom getting them to settle down by the hush, stop and listen wave of her pointer finger was funny. Didn't even have to turn around and look at them. Good job dad. Beautiful family. Safe travels.

@@ammyself That's silly. Families fly in single engine airplanes all the time. While I don't know his flight path, he seems to be staying close enough to the airport, that even with an engine failure, he could glide back to the airport.

Yep, those cuties in the back seat stole the show! My girls were that age when they took their first flight in our Bonanza F33A. We flew cross country as a family several times, plus many other family vacation trips. Good times. Enjoy... they'll be off to college in a heartbeat.
They'll have boyfriends even sooner than when they meet the professors. That's when cuties become beauties. And as you probably know parenting becomes more involved then. Best to enjoy the good times when it's easiest.
very cool video indeed but this guy is very selfish for producing offspring like this and it is strange to me that he brings his mating partner along in these ventures. people should only focus on themselves. you will save a lot of time and money if you avoid mating and seeking a partner for it.
i loved being a dad so much when my daughter and son were their age. they were just old enough to ask questions and carry fun conversations. everyday was a blast and i remember being so motivated to work to make sure i had the money needed to do so many things every weekend... but sadly when they get about 12-14 they want to be around their friends more... then by 16 ur old news. lol i didnt know how to handle it when they grew up and actually went into a weird depression that all those special moments where everything was new and fun were over... now im just hoping when they have their own kids ill get to be a fun grandpa... provided i have the energy to keep up with them. @@kentduryea7109

Such cuties! I usually watch flight videos for all of the flight and instrumentation technique. I did none of that for this flight. I just listen to them giggle, and talk about stuff in the backseat!
I was a girl dad too and I have to say it was the most wonderful experience I ever had in life. Mine are grown now but this vid sure brought back the memories and made me think...wow, I can watch a flying vid any day but I seldom get to watch a pair of girls interact and enjoy it all live again. You have a beautiful family, it's one of God's most holy blessings.

My God those two are beyond adorable! Such a sweet family! I know they will love these videos when they are a little older. My friend's daughters are between 10 and 12 and I routinely play back videos of themselve when they were tiny. They are already old enough to laugh at themselves when they were little. Thanks for sharing this with us. I do not have kids but have 9 nieces, 6 of which spent a lot of time flying with Uncle Steve. Now, the oldest is 27 and living with me while time building as a CFII. The 16 year old starts her PPL training next month! Both want to be airline pilots! I miss those silly little conversations between them through the headset. LOL

Those little girls are so adorable! I was more interested in listening to their chatter than I was the flight.
I’m 59 years old and my first airplane flight was when I was just over two years old. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember my dad and I walking out to the airplane with the pilot, getting into the plane and I was allowed to sit in the right front seat all by myself. The pilot allowed me to hold the yoke until we became airborne and I still can feel that sensation in my stomach the moment we lifted off the ground. That memory inspired me to want to be a pilot so I began taking flying lessons right after high school graduation. I joined the military shortly thereafter, started a family and never took the time to finish my training. I’ve never been able to convince my wife that spending money on flight training would be beneficial to us😞.
I got involved in R/C airplane flying in my 20’s and eventually on to R/C helicopters. I’m currently training for the part 107 UAV license to start a business after I retire in a couple of years. R/C flying is as close to full scale flying as I ever got or, ever will.
It would be a good thing if this flight planted the seed in their minds to want a career in aviation. I’ve never had the opportunity to be a girl daddy but if I did, I would want my daughter to achieve anything she wanted to.

I've been waiting for this. An update to Alyx and Raeleigh growing up. And oh boy have they. From the diaper stage to "not appropriate" words their development has been fast but also what everyone else is saying-- cute. The parked plane scene was my favorite. Raeleigh saying "evva" instead of ever. And a big word "humongous" used by Alyx. "Look at that big plane, Alyx". "Oh yeah that's humongous" replied Alyx. "That used to be the biggest plane evva. But now it's broke. It's rusty, windows broken, and it crashed".
Many nice scenes of cuteness. Plus Sarah not feeling well. It kind of looked that way too. But the flight was "okay". "Just okay?" he asked. Sarah's beautiful smile at the end showed she really liked the experience as a whole.
Your most entertaining video yet, Chad. Watched the entire thing. Thank you so much for sharing. Your skills as a pilot and a parent are evident. Alyx and Raeleigh are not only cute stinkers but also very well behaved. Ask if they'd like to fly again. It would be wonderful seeing them more before the cuteness fades and responsibilities start guiding their ways.

Haha she doesn't mind flying with me much anymore, but used to be more terrified. She has taken a flight lesson which helped. Hopefully more lessons in her future, and more fun flights with her!

Mate you've clearly made a lot of good decisions to be at this point. I'm pleased and a little jealous... in a motivating way.
One thing that caught my eye at the start was the flip-flop shoes however. It reminded me of the advice I got from the start of training - to always dress with the expectation of the flight ending somewhere different to the planned destination.
Agree, this is good advice and I have heard it as well. Generally I try to follow this advice, but I admit I can sometimes not do this for local flights basically circling my airport. Thanks for the comment, appreciate the reminder.
