Carve a SIMPLE Wood PENDANT | Raven/Crow Skull

- Hey guys! For this video, I decided to make a simple raven/crow/bird skull pendant with a remaining piece from my previous project. I came up with this abstract design that I thought would be easy enough for just about anyone to make if they wanted to.
I did not intend on making another wood carved pendant so soon! But with the extra piece(s) of wooden spoon remains i thought, "why not?!" Anyway, my next video will likely be something totally different, then following that one I will use your suggestions to decide on the THIRD pendant!
The calmest part of my day is when I sit down to watch one of your vids.
I'd love to hear commentary from you. I find the why/how of how people do things can be just as interesting as the thing they're making.

Ooh, I like the idea of using scrap pieces for future works...it looks like a tooth to me, but it also has the shape of a budding flower and stem.. in profile maybe.

Thanks. Got my multitool in the post so good starting point for project. The off cut is tooth shaped but would be cool with maybe a design in the centre nearly separate from the outside shape. Like a flower or something in a teardrop.

I've been binge watching your vids,,, You Sir, have Tallent!! I'm a Southern Boy too, and love wood working. I just made My own lathe, and Scroll saw, out of wood. They both work wonderful, keep em coming, you have some killer ideas. Imma try this, and see if I can make it!! ...... Peace!!

Really like your channel and your designs! This design is really awesome! For the piece that fell off it would maybe be cool to do some maori/animal design! PS i sometimes ask for advice, but i always end up going with my own design

Well it does look like a skull though it doesn't look like one entirely 😂
but that's okay because the result is beautiful though I think it would've looked a little bit better if it was wooden, but if you thought it was nicer in black then that's it, you're the artist here and you know your art more than me and I'm sure you would choose what makes it most beautiful in your opinion 👏👏👏
For this one I used watered down black acrylic paint, it kind of acts like stain in that it's still somewhat transparent. It may be hard to tell, but I did leave the wood grain showing. I appreciate your input! It's very good and helpful to hear other's opinions 😁

I did notice a little bit of the wooden color, but what I meant up there was the natural brownish wooden color of the wood, like without any coloring at all, is what I thought would have looked nicer. The piece is quite simple yet amazing and beautiful in its own simple way so I though the natural color would add a touch to it because simplicity and nature always go along well 😊
@@sars195 agreed! Maybe I'll have to make another one and leave the natural wood showing 😉 I'll be doing plenty of wood carvings, so I'll play around with different finishes

Thank you! 😊 I mostly used a Dremel 100 here, it's a really affordable kind of rotary carver. It's great to start learning with, as some machines can cost hundreds of dollars. Hope this helps!
