- 12 mini jet boats made it our for a fall run up to the glacier and then Carmen lake. Good times were had by all. BBQ and pumping gravel. What more could you ask for.

That's just a fun race, in Grants Pass we race 14 foot hydroplanes on the Rogue River in the wilderness section. It's great if you miss all the boulders.
And the hydroplanes are wood, not aluminum.....

Daamn.. That looks so fun! I wonder how a Yamaha Nytro turbo engine with 270hp would be in a jet boat.. Could probably scale it up to take 4 persons.
Couple guys here are now running 4 seaters with the gp1800r shvo, 250hp. Things run pretty good

The 2 bigger center consoles are the ones me and a buddy built. They are 14' bow to transom and 16' overall with the swimdeck. The other one is a 11-12'
Gad! These look like fun. I have some reservations about running these in small rivers and streams, as that is where fish set their nests, and one run over these with one of these crafts could destroy a nest entirely, ending that contribution to the next generation of fish. This needs to be taken into account when we plan our fun. Deep water - no problem. And boy, does it all look like a lot of fun. We just need to take this on like adults, committed to the thriving of all life, not just our own kinetic glee. You guys on for being grown-ups, in getting our great jollies?
A quick walk around of each boat would be nice.... listing the engine, jet and controls used. Also any cool features/additions the owner has added to the boat.
Would be handy info for someone wanting to build their own. 👍

As far as the bottom goes its super hard with uhmw. The sides are not as tuff

Yeah, these boats on this trip were all in the 45 to 55mph top speed range.

I would love to purchase one of these but no one makes them completely built and I don't have an aluminum welder to put one together if anyone knows a site that has them fully built please let me know

@@quentinvoth1395 Now that there are so many kits out that really would be a personal preference and also what type of boating you want to do. My boat I built was the center console and not from a kit. If I were to buy a kit right now it would probably be a Atom from a good friend of mine. They are pretty badass. If budget were no issue then I would go with a new supercharged Yamaha donor. If I were going to build an ultra light then that's a different story. Really the next boat might be a 17' with 400hp and a real two stage pump. You see there is so much to that question and no way to say what is right for you, your budget, skills, what you want to do with it and personal preference. Alaska mini boats on Facebook and Mini jet boat builds are two really great resources for information. Alaska mini boats is where you can get the Atom. New Zealand forums are amazing too.

I should be good then I definitely got to get one but the US company sells them for over 20k and I think that's absolutely ridiculous for a 12 foot boat when the Canadian company sells them as a kit boat and you can buy that for 3000 and then a used or new jet ski motor yeah you got to do it yourself but it's so much cheaper than the American company so altogether what I'm trying to say is it seems like these things should only cost Maybe 8K brand new for basic Hardware Hall an engine it should really only be 8K the companies in the US are definitely trying to rob people while I don't know if there's any in Alaska but the ones that are closer to me definitely try to Rob your pocket who wants to pay $30,000 for a 12 foot boat if I'm going to spend that much on a boat it needs to have a bed
If you think 20k for one of these is ridiculous then you don't know what these are. It isn't a basic john boat with an out board in a tin can. Just because you can get a kit for 3k doesn't get you anywhere close to building one. You keep saying US and American and are super wrong. Look at a new Firefish out of Canada. Will cost you at least 35,000-40,000 for one from them and about 60k for one like mine (14.5'), out of Canada! Same for BrattJet. I built mine from scratch and it cost me 25k in materials alone plus and over 1800 hours of labor let alone all the extra tools I needed to buy to make it happen. You can find a used pile somewhere for maybe 8-10k. Do some real research on these...

How do I get a boat like this
Most of us built ours. There are a few kits out there. You could look for a used one or contact one of the many mini boat builders out there.
Bratt, MotoJet, Jetstream, Watts Craft, LVB, and many others. Look up the Facebook page, Alaska Mini Boats and Mini Boat Builds for more info.
