The problem is…they’re not wrong. Surely you don’t think they prefer fewer viewers? The fact is, the competition shows get far higher viewership. I don’t get it (I’ve never watched even a full single competition show episode), but it is what it is. We, the public, can change that, by changing our viewing habits.
Dong blame big brother. Blame your selves, your neighbours, your family. Big brother is just delivering what they want.

I got rid of my satellite tv probably about 14 to 16 years ago. I had nothing but basic channels and 2 receiver boxes and DirecTV raised my price a couple of times in short progression and my satellite bill ended up over $100.
The few channels I liked to watch, Comedy Central and the Discovery Networks would play hours of infomercials of paid advertising earlier in the day and a ton of repeats, even on the same day.
Add to that this is when the networks and cable and satellite providers would argue over licensing renewal fees and then the networks would be off the air, sometimes for months.
I had just learned about streaming services and the Roku back then. I tried both for a week, loved it and loved how inexpensive they both were and sent DirecTV packing.
I will NEVER go back to Cable or Satellite ever again.

Hire her back ❤. She’s one of my favorite Saturday and Sunday morning relaxers. I will not watch Food Network any longer if she’s not brought back.

Valerie, Alton and the rest mentioned are awesome teaching and inspire cooking at home, with the encouragement of 'you can do this too.'.
Hoping they band together, for their is strength in numbers.

I learn everything from CZcams cooking channels now. So many good ones!

I haven’t watched the Food Network in years. Guy Fieri started all this crap.

I agree 💯 with Valerie! Miss you and many others! I like the comp shows but miss the 'old school' way of the food network that inspired all of us. No shade toward the competition shows but balance is always key. Love you Valerie

OMG! I totally agree with every single word that was said in this video! It's now the Guy Fieri network for sure!! PBS is my go to on cooking shows. Stay stong, Valerie!

She is only a couple of months older than me. I have loved her since One Day at a time. Would love a show just of her cooking and talking. She is so fun
