- This week we officially tore apart the BRZ's engine (FA20) down to the short block for inspection and bearing replacement. If you're new to the channel, this is a continuation of our series where we are fixing Derek's car since it's having engine problems. Hopefully we can get the car back up and running soon but for the time being let us know if you enjoyed the video and let us know what videos we should make in the future!

Let’s go finally opening up the engine! BUSSIN! 💯🔥🔥🔥
Wow you guys are making this seem like light work for two dudes that said they have no mechanical background! Hope it all goes well (and your surgery goes well!). Hoping to see updates on the gen 2 car too :D
Thank you so much! We really appreciate the kind words! To let you in on a little bts secret, we were actually supposed to drop an update video on the gen 2 86 instead of this video however we decided to push it back for reasons that will make sense soon :)
I just rebuild mine it wasnt hard. Just the cleaning took a lot of time
Yeah, that seems like the most tedious part of the entire thing. Did you take it to a shop or did you just use brake cleaner?
@@carantix I used a scraper and a brush. Then used degreaser
@@Rowland105 Say less, we bought some scrapers but if those don't end up working we'll try your way 😂😂
So the issue of motor blowing is the oil leak from the timing cover causing the level to be too low?
Yes, from we can tell there was a major leak on the driver side of the timing cover which caused oil levels to drop and eventually caused spun bearing due to low oil lubrication
Dude...label everything.
Uhhhhh, too late…😂😂
