Metallica couldn't have found a better member than Rob. Talented, hardworking, flexible, open minded, kind, humble and respectful but not a pushover... oozes a sense of calmness and fun at the same time. Just an overall fantastic dude.
Agreed!
Faruk Ahmet I was besides myself when I heard Rob was joining Metallica. Big fan of his when he played in Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves.

take a listen
im bored as hell
Faruk Ahmet he was the best option after Cliff died and Jason left. I'd pick one of the others any day over Rob, but Rob's still an amazing player
Everybody likes Robert
Very beautiful to hear about Robs relationship with Cliffs family, Cliff never left Metallica although his life was ended way too soon.
Cliff burton inspired me to play bass even though i was born 15-20 years after he past away... That means alot. I dont think he ever died as long as we keep living his legacy
my favorite crabman will always be roberto. 11/10.
KING CRAB!
Rob > Bob.
Axwage Bob Ross?
If you mean by bob rock, he’s producer, not a pure bassist. Yeah i know he play bass on st anger album, but that’s urgent replacement after jason left the focking band
Bob's basslines weren't actually that bad. Just buried under the rest of the band (as it usually goes)
I fucking love Robert
RIP Cliff
RIP
it would be nice to have an interview with Jason and Robert. Not in the old bass player vs no so new bass player kind of way. They are really passionate musicians. I think it would be nice to hear their views on some metallica songs. please make it happen!
Nordi Mejia its strange. people keep calling him the 'new guy', but the guy is in the band for almost 15 years now
Yes, you are right. He has been in metallica for over 13 years. Jason was there for... 14, i think. They are both great talents.
If Jason makes it up to Toronto, I will do my best to make it happen. Good idea!
Give me some credit if it happen!!!
You got it!
Fuckin Beautiful! For all the haters out there, you need to understand where these guys come from. They're so deep, and true to themselves. 35 yrs... not even most marriages last that long.
We Love you Rob!
like that he is humble
Great dude, seriously. Awesome to chat with. It was an honour.
Steve Lambert he seems more Human than the other members
The Conrad Kirk is a decent guy as we'll
Millions of dollars makes you humble...
I thought it was so cool that when I saw Metallica a few weeks ago, when Rob did his bass solo they actually had this HUGE image and shots of Cliff pop up on the big screen and everyone went crazy cheering and Rob played some amazing thing. It was awesome , but the biggest thought I had at that moment was "DAM!!! Rob has Class". For him to be in a band and pay that kind of tribute to previous member during HIS solo"...just showed total class. All the proof I need to know that as FANTASTIC a player as Rob is...the music is bigger them himself!!!! What an addition to Metallica...hell to any band that would have been lucky enough to get him. I say that not as a fan, but as one man to another.
Hardwired reminds me a lot of MoP. Idk why, it just does. Rob gives off the same sort of presence as Cliff had done on MoP, especially with ManUNKind and Spit out the Bone
REST in peace Ray Burton
💔💔💔
Robert Trujillo is a Legend
Robert is a good guy. An awesome bass player. Loves cliff burton. Both my bass hero’s
the fucking luck of Metallica to have some of the passionate
and of course deep musicians out there i really enjoy the era of the
bassist in Metallica even i don't meet cliff but the albums speak them self's
the time with Jason fantastic guy on the bass and now the time with Robert Trujillo
that's sick !!! i will keep in that way, that's better than say this guy is better than the other
fuck that bullshit that's for girls !!
Hard to believe Rob has been in the band longer than Cliff or Jason yet he is still the "New guy"
Cliff is a eternally the god of bass. RIP.
RIP indeed.
This guy is so great. True respect.
Awesome tribute to Mr. Cliff Burton, Rob you're awesome dude! Metallica-4-life,
David Curtis
Cliff is a God but Rob is a BEAST in his own right as well
Rob is a beast, period. ....not only in his own right.
This makes so much sense it's amazing...Rob and Cliff are so near yet so far with their techniques, it's hard to not notice !... Good on Rob payin' it forward ! \m/,
Awesome interview and glad he’s letting people know, all 3 are DIFFERENT. Rob honors those before him and makes sure he plays his way too.
Goddamn, that warms the cold, cynical space in my chest.
Just don't let it get TOO warm, you know?
Great state of mind!
Awesome. I love Rob
Rob turned out to be a perfect new member for Metallica. Cliff formed and set the path on Metallica should be, Jason brought the anger that Metallica had, and Rob is the calm but energetic anchor that the now old more matured Metallica needs.
I F'ing love this guy. He's such a good dude. Venice, CA forever and always!!!!
Love Cliff and Love Robert. Both amazing players in their own respects
0:08 Him as a composer.
That's a nice guy .. and freaking great musician
Robert is so cute 😊!
Good dude
Jason !!
I love this dude so much. But i personally think that Jason was a better fit for metallica, so much power and anger when he was on stage man! everybody is missing "whiplash" sung by him !
👍😎🤘♥️🎸🎶✌️♥️
Cliff was beyond Metallica....
ManUnKind is superb especially the clip.
What about ron mcgovney
i don't know to stop playing the electric guitar and start playing the bass or keep playing the guitar
Rob's a smart, collected, savy guy. He prob had that riff in his head long time ago with nothing to do with Cliff. That's why he's banking in a band that im sure he doesnt like. Rob is all about the funk.
Poor Ray yeah it's sad cause he was a 24 year old MINOR!!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhhh Rob is so funny too esp when he said that he and *Kirk* look like brothers from 11th grade lol ;))))
This man has the creepiest smile I've seen in a while
Metalluca needs to move on from the whole cliff thing, its been 30some years yet i STILL hear about him,yes he was an AWESOME vass player that was a founding member of Metallica, but most of their accomplishments as a band where done with Jay and Rob,as long as the band as a whole doesnt get over Cliff being dead, theyll never accomplish their true potential as a band, imagine if they gave jason more freedom when he was in the band,or even better, what if they let Rob be more flexible, rather than holding both bass players to the "burton standard",Rob Trujillo is one if the funkiest bass play aluve,if he was able to bring some of his infectious, suicidal stylings to the table , Metallica would be EVEN MORE of an unstoppable force
Cliff unfortunately was not a found I g member that would have been Ron Mc Goveney(sp)
Rob waaay better player than Jason just saying
im sure he was great but Cliff Burton has undue influence over the band.
