- Hello everyone and welcome to my channel if you’re new and welcome back if you’ve been here before. Today’s video is a bit different. I’ve been down the 1950s rabbit hole lately 😂 so I wanted to do a video filming a typical day in the 50s from a wife’s perspective. In my imagination, this is what it was like as a lesbian living with your “roommate” . I had a lot of fun filming this video and I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for watching! Please like, comment, and subscribe. ☺️
About Me:

There were black housewives in the 50s, maybe not as many but they existed. My grandmother told me stories of her aunts who married military men and stayed home with the children. Pastors wives usually stayed home, as well as many other wives of professional men.
Thank you for this!! I so wished we heard more stories of black housewives from that time.
The music shes playing here..is more 1960-1965
Shed also wear a foundation garmet..
@@kathleenking47 Oh well.
You sure I believe their were more black women married back then than today
@@kathleenking47so what?
I love this video. “Today is February 6th, 1950” ❤. I need to get ready everyday like those housewives! Goals
Thanks for watching!💚
My mom & aunts put on hosiery and high heels while she cleaned the home. 1st thing in the morning and hair do to show the husbands who they had for a wifes. Our drapes had sheers. Lamp in the front window.
I love vintage looks and aesthetics and as a Black woman, there’s not a lot of representation so honey when I tell you I LOVED this video! I LOVED it🫶🏿
Thank you and thank you for watching!
My favorite video, hi I have found you literally searching for Black version of 1950s Day in a life to help me with mine and get inspiration. Literally there is barely any. I want to let you know I see you and I loved the video. 🌸
Thank you so much for seeing me. You are right, there is little to no content of us. It is exactly why I created the video. I see you have a channel as well and I will subscribe to watch your content. 💚
Washes dishes with gloves makes it less gross 🤣🤣🤣
Tried it once and never went back🤣🤣
I will start doing that! I have several cute pairs too, thank you for reminding me to do so ☺️
@@NikiaNichelle yes just be careful when you’re washing knives so that you won’t cut the gloves😖
I’m now a full time single homemaker! I should start a vlog/blog! I love seeing this!
You should! It’s so much fun! Let me know if you do and I’ll subscribe 💚
I don't know how I am just finding your channel, but I am so glad I did!
Awe! Welcome!💚💚
I love vintage videos! I don't know how I am only now finding this one but I love it!!! Thank you. I love how you went from black and white to full on Technicolor. Bam! Movie magic.
Thank you for watching💚💚 and thank you for noticing the change in color 😂😂
This was interesting. As a single working mom, most of my housework was done at night after dinner. Saturday was the day for opening windows and airing the place out. Dusting and polishing and sanitizing the bathroom were always for that day. But I always made the beds as soon as we got up and those breakfast dishes were done right away. I loved coming home to a clean house and I can't imagine what it would have been like to have time to do things at a slower pace because I felt like I was always running.
I understand your point of view 🤗 thank you for watching 💚
This reminds me so much of my mum. I grew up seeing this and love this, but I also love working as well xx
💚💚💚
I love that green couch
Thank you!
Yes! ❤️My grandmother and many of my great-aunts were housewives… and my husband's family was the same.
Yesss! 💚💚We are growing in this community if only social media pushes out our content 👏🏾
Yooo as a Black lgbt+ femme who likes the 50s aesthetic and everything, this made me smile and makes me wanna be housewife to my future wife. I want a big family so I likely won't be able to do that but the thought is very pleasant, thank you for sharing! CZcams has heard my cries and recommended this video lol😭🙏🏾
Hii!🤗💚💚 Thank you for watching and letting me know you are here 🤗 It’s sooo hard to find us which is why I started a channel. Welcome!💚💚
I absolutely loved watching this video. The meals looked delicious and you reminded me that I have to dust more. By the way your skin is beautiful so whatever is your skin care routine keep it. I definitely use Ponds to remove my eye makeup it works. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thank you and thank you for watching! 🤗🤗
In the 1960s we would add banaas or fruit cocktail to the Jello. Then it would set on a piece of lettuce.
I love fruit in my jello to this day 💚
Love this video!
I love this video! I heard about the nifty fifties from my Godmother who Black family grew up on the North shore of Staten Island Ny in 1952
Thank you and thank you for watching! I bet those stories are book worthy 💚💚
You have such a sweet, delicate and soothing voice. I also love the breakfast - eggs two ways! That is such a fun idea!! So glad I found your videos. I'm a woc homemaker so this is wonderful rep to see :)
Hi!💚💚 Thank you! I started my channel for representation! Thank you for seeing me and allowing me to see you 💚
Love the emerald green sofa! Great video.
Thank you!💚💚
You look so pretty and elegant and dinner looked so yummy! I want to try following your example this week 😝 Btw I’ve used the ponds on my eye makeup, I think it’s the only thing that takes off my eyelash glue lol
Thank you and thank you for watching! 🤗 Ponds can assist with eyelash glue but you don’t want to use it often because it is heavy and can clog your pores.
The dress and the video was so amazing and beautiful!!! You did amazing!!!
Thank you!💚
Hey Love, so creative, and enlightening! Great video sharing our black history!💕

I love this niche! Go head, girl! Keep these coming. Will you be adding photos or video clips from the 50's to your videos?
Thank you! That’s a good idea, I will do that next time. Thank you!

You are so cute and your voice is so pretty! You should get a job doing voice acting or narrate books for the blind if your town has a School for the Blind. (Well...silly me. Your voice is pretty here on You tube for us all to enjoy) Take care.

@@NikiaNichelle You’ve totally inspired me to! You should totally try another decade. I think you’d look super cute with a 70s look too!
I LOVE this so much! I look watching this time period but is is always YT women doing this. If only we could go back but with the mindset about race that we have now (not perfect, but it would do!)
Thank you for watching! I feel the exact same way! I love the fashion and sense of togetherness and routine
We can do this today .. consumerism is what changed things in the 80s .. if we fight against consumerism we can go back to raising our children, caring for our homes , couponing, preparing healthy delicious meals for our family.. hand dry our clothes , reduce utility bills .. but used but good cars .. if we all normalize this . Watch how good society will be . It's amazing
I agree 👍, I was so excited to see this video
Yes this video I had to keep scrolling and scrolling to find someone of color. Any who I am a small new CZcamsr and will be making my 1950s housewife video. I can’t wait 💕🥹 I loved this era style and music etc
7:32 I cannot. Ugh. I just can't wrap my head around the full grocery trip price these days
9:41 who? Don't know anyone by that name.

You are welcome! Thank you for watching.
I am a person of color, my mom, aunts, grandmother & all the lady's were house wife's who had husbands and young children. I was born in the 1950'.. your wrong about not many black females stayed home. My father was a pastor the church women mostly who were married and housewife as well.. all over the black community. If any women worked who was married, it had be a part time side job. The wife first responsibilities were God,home, family. Your home was to showed pride of the family. It was a show place for your husband's network. Inside your community. The wife was the husbands everything cook, nurse, business partner. Home decore operations & daily cook for not just a good Meal, but healthy meals. ❤
Thank you for your comment. I was educated on this topic years ago 😂💚
I am happy to know that there were many black housewives although it was not spoken on because it’s so taboo to see a black housewife in current times. I love that you are sharing your experience and I pray more women of color share their experiences.
Please do a whole 1950s series!
I wouldn’t know where to start lol but I do a lot of Homemaking on my channel 😂💚
@@NikiaNichelle I'm glad I came across it. I adore this type of content. 💚

Thank you! I had a lot of fun 💚
You have a very lovely home
Thank you ☺️
I love this Video. But I do not remember a liquid lipstick in the 50s when I was a child
Yes I added liquid overtop bc the shade was a little loud for my skin complexion ☺️
No. That didn't come out until AFTER lip gloss of the 70s
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Your voice is so soft and sweet 💓
It was definitely a beautiful time 💚💚
Where did you get the bed from ?
Hello, it’s from Wayfair. I couldn’t find the link on the website but I found a similar one on Amazon www.amazon.com/Allewie-Platform-Upholstered-Headboard-Foundation/dp/B086RH78CH/ref=asc_df_B086RH78CH/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459586840274&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17831983374719861500&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1015479&hvtargid=pla-944813466425&psc=1
