I have always loved throat singing.
Some info about the band and the song; Ötüken, the name of the band is the ancient Turkic ancestral city, where in the olden times, different Turkic clans and branches like Oghuz, Kypchak, Karluk and Siberian Turkic peoples meet to discuss about important things, weapons werent allowed in the city as the city was considered to be sacred. The name Altay are the mountains Turks consider to be sacred according to their myths and legends, the song lyrics are about the Turkic gods, Ummet sings the names of all the Turkic deities starting with Gök/Boz Tengri and the lady accompanies by singing about the "dagh" (mountains) around and Yel Ana (Goddess of Wind). I believe the ladies are all from different ethnic groups from Chulym and Khakass Turkic to native Siberians.

"Russian" is NOT the same as nationality. English is so small language, sorry...
"Russian" (the Native resident any nationality including Metis, and other persons who have received the citizenship of Russian Federation) = "rosiyanin".
"Russian" (as "country" adjective) = "rosiyskiy/-aya/-oe/-ie" ("a russian band" = "rosiyskaya grupa").
"Russian" (the nationality) and "russian" (as national adjective) = ruskiy /-aya/-oe/-ie (in both senses).
And don't worry: most Russians (* the nationality) don’t understand it either.

What Russian? lol Turkic people lives in the borders of Russia doesnt make them Russian. Otyken word by itself is coming from the capital city of first Turkic country called Gokturk Khaganate. Not to mention Ummet himself is Turkish as well.

According to the Chulym legend, the word Otuken is a sacred place where warriors laid down their weapons. And they sing in different languages, including Russian and languages that are not Turkic. They live in Russia, so they are citizens of Russia. This territory has belonged to Russia for hundreds of years. And there has been no Turkic khaganate for thousands of years lol.

Also Turkish is part of Turkic(Turkic is very diverse) but nobody claimed Turkish here. Sis said Turkic and that is correct. Also Otyken is a originally Turkic word and it means holy land.
