- When using a knife and fork, the knife is always in the right and fork in the left even if you're left handed. Position your index fingers on top of the utensil and extend to the neck, then proceed.

I just ate a baked chicken with my hands, opened a beer with my teeth, all the while loading my rifle with my feet. Lifeskills.
😂
I catch flies with chopsticks, slice bamboo with a sword in the other hand, all while breakdancing on a cotton rug.
😂
You're a legend 🙌
😂❤
It’s difficult for me to do anything with my left hand. So I end up constantly switching my knife and fork between my left and right hand.
When dining in American style, you are permitted to switch. However, in the European style, you must become accustomed to holding the knife in the right and fork in the left. With practice, you can do it.
@@Colgan1 thank you! ☺️ I became interested in learning how to properly use cutlery to eat when I was at work one day eating chicken thighs that was being served for lunch. I’m sitting there looking like a sloppy little kid, with chicken grease all over my fingers lol. I look over at my co-worker and she’s eating her chicken with a knife and fork, so clean and graceful. I felt embarrassed. I never even knew you could eat chicken with a knife and fork. I just want to look like an adult while I’m eating 😂. But all these unnecessary rules does kinda make me wanna say to hell with lol. So I’ll take your advice and just do what works best for me.
@covegirl06 I am 35 years old, and I am British. I would eat that chicken thigh with my hands also. If it was a boneless piece of chicken like a breast, then I would use a knife and fork. You do you! Eat like a slob. Who cares. As long as you are enjoying the food, we all eat like slobs, i would rather be a slob than a snob, snobby people are up their own arse. I could go to a fancy restaurant and still use my hands to pick and eat something. Who cares 😅 but seriously, when it comes to which hand you should or shouldn't use with knife and forks. That is totally up to you.
@covegirl06 infact i have chicken thighs 😅 I might make them for my dinner now
That is permitted in the American dining style.
so elegant. tres bien Madame.
Your demonstration was perfect. This is way of eating is easiest and displays the most elegance. (Switching from hand to hand every five minutes is not elegant.) Growing up with European family, this is how we were taught. In formal settings the way you eat shows your respect towards your host who has prepared your meal for you.
Just because you don't prefer something doesn't make it inelegant. What an incredibly rude thing to say coming from someone who clearly thinks they are the epitome of manners. The American style of etiquette is just different it doesn't make it less than.
I'm Persian Caucasian (from Caucasus). I eat with my hands. It's tastier this way 😉
I prefer European style dining, but it’s difficult for me to eat certain things this way (salad, rice dishes, peas, etc.) without looking like a crab person 😩
that´s not European style wha sheshows, that´s the British/english style-in Germany wedon´t dine like that,we hold the forks and knives the same way the Americans do
What you see in this short is what to do when you need to cut something into pieces like meat of big vegetables. The index finger gives you more strength to press the tool in the bottom direction.
yes@@camembertdalembert6323
I eat rice with 🥢
@@barbaraschneider7922I'm Russian, and we eat like that. It is European style.
Perfectly done. Regards from London.
Awwe thank you so much.
No
@@ZendayaOderaPrincessCoxall yes
It's the hairstyle for me 😊
Thank you so much.
🤣
Thank you ❤
Mam...I just want to eat
best comment!🏆
Well I just realized I do it European style, interesting I never knew it was a difference
I just love the dress❤❤❤
Don't lick/touch the form when transferring food to mouth
Nah I’m a savage at the table lol
😳🤣
thank you.
My pleasure.
This is why I am starving
lol
Right on the money. That's Euro style
I prefer our African way of eating.
with your hands and a rock?
I'm Persian. We eat wit our hands. It's much more fulfilling.
Want to learn how to eat pilaf with your hands? It's a form of art 😊
for ppl who are wondering... nope we don't eat our food with stabbing knife
Never take the fork straight to mouth
Obviously that knife cuts because it's sharper than the regular dinner knife types
What if there is nothing on the plate that needs cutting, do you still use a knife to help guide the food onto the fork? Do you still use the fork in the left hand?
Yes always knife in right hand and fork in left with tines down (never as a shovel for food)
@@stumpfyI run my fork thru food, raise to my mouth and chew...nice n simple..
live and let live
You turn the fork facing up if it’s soft to cut and that’s look like egg so I think you turn it up
Rather than i use my hand...🤣
to wipe your butt?
bravo madame
Thank you so much.
🙏
Can you please show me how to use spoon and fork
Putting the fork in your mouth upside down like that just looks so wrong
sure does...looks awkward
What loud place are you eating fancy?
A restaurant where guests dine and converse. It's normal.
Wow lovely
Thank you so much.
Good girl
😂
In this video, you look like Princess Tiana
I mean you are beautiful
Since it's trendy Mukbang on Korean show. I wonder how was American style for meal manner in U.S.
Nah eating how tf I want
preach!🤣
IM USING MY HANDS. GHETTO STYLE😂
YOU COULD TEACH ALOT OF WOMEN HOW TO PROPERLY USE UTENSIL BEFORE PUTTING IT IN THEIR MOUTH😂
I really didn’t need this tbh it just popped up😑
Yeah and you're not supposed to do cut it all at once. You gotta cut each bite as you go along 😫
It is seen as childish to precut your meal and a fork should always be tines down and held in the left hand
Flaring your elbows while cutting your food is not a good idea. I love your dress xx
Nobody in Europe (except maybe high-class dining) is worrying this much about which hand to use and how to hold the utensils. Just hold it however you can cut and eat best, without making a scene (scratching your knife on the plate and stuff like that) preferably.
Also nobody will bat an eye if you use your hands to eat ribs, pizza, sandwiches, chicken wings or fries. And nobody will actually look whether you wash or wipe your hands or not. Though you should of course, as that is a general rule anywhere in the world.
Sorry. I'm European. I'm definitely no snob but if I see someone eating in a restaurant and they're not using this technique, then it's like having to sit with a neanderthal. Unless you're eating at a fast food restaurant then you better eat like this or it's a big lose.
@@BlackCoffeeee Are you really European? Where in Europe have you seen people eat this way? Do you mean Britain? If yes, they always want to be the "special one" or "odd one out", so that's no surprise
@@maeryn4200 Yes I'm really European and are you seriously asking where I've seen people eat like this? Everybody eats like this, in every single European country. It's the standard. Anywhere a knife and fork is given at a table you'll see people eating like this. I have to assume you're not European if you don't know this. How could you not? You've been to restaurants that provide metal cutlery, right?
i dont get it, where are the mummies?
You are supposed to move your fork to your right hand after cutting. And never put the fork in your mouth upside down. But, it's food and it's eating so who cares
Why the fk do you need to swap your utensils between hands after cutting food? Are you toddlers or something? You not able to use a fork with your left hand lol?
Primitives.
I love the European style more then American style.
Make sure your elbowes are closer to your body than shown in this video.
yeah...the more self conscience and uptight the better!🤣
arms stick to the body too...in etiquette courses they make you eat with card boards in your underarms, so you eat without dropping them
a gr8 reason to stay away from etequite courses......
cut...dig in w fork..put in mouth....however feels natural to u...
I hate pretentious
Etiqutte is not waving a smudged knife around in the Air to spill on yourself or others. No points for this video
Even behind l can cut it ine 😅😅😅
Nice one girl.English bowman from UK
Thank you so much.
Props lady. Good thing that’s not American style. People have no manners here.
i thought this was normal imo
Deniggatised
She lost me at European style
American is a headache 😂. I prefer European ❤
lol
Why in God's name would you eat with your fork upside down and poke the roof of your mouth
Well done. It's painful watching American adults eat like babies.
Never hold your knife like a pencil,
Only when it is a fish knife.
Only when holding a fish knife.
This is corny.
You're explaining to be neat with potato all over your knife and fork. Looks weird to me. Wouldn't it be nicer to show and explain when the fork and knife are still clean?
Love your dress. And you have a nice voice. 🤗
No! I have been looking for a video exactly like this because everybody keeps demonstrating how to eat without any freakin food on the plate!
oh please get over yourself
Thank you for the compliment. When I've is eating food, you will see food on the utensil. Show a little grace. I hope you captured the lesson. Thank you for commenting.
Well, I loved this demo. For me, It helps tremendously to see a real authentic example.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much.
Silly woman
Im a red blooded american, that’s how i eat. My dad is also red blooded american
