You got it spot on when presenting the DB9 as comparable with the DB5. They are icons, mile stones for Aston Martin, and what people will look back at in the future and remember. The DB9 managed to stand out in a timeless fashion in the modern world where car design is evolving each year. This car, was able to stand against that constantly moving tide of trends and styles, and just be its own by pursuing absolute perfection of beauty and soul.
I still believe the DBS is the pinnacle of the DB9 lineup, mainly because it has a bit sharper (and still exquisite) look, and it was offered with a great manual transmission. The DB9 GT comes very close second for me, and it really honors the legacy of the original DB9.
Keep up the good content Alek, especially with that new Vantage coming soon!

Daniel so glad you see DB9 GT in the same light! i totally agree with you. Just got back this morning from sunny California to see the new Vantage before its formal launch.. We are in for a real treat.. I cant say much but I will say this.. Vulcan Light

Vulcan light? Well, that raised my expectations!
Regarding the DB9, I always wondered, what are your thoughts of the Virage and it's place in the Aston model range? Is it simply a facelift, or does it serve a greater purpose like the GT does?

That's a great question! I personally see Virage as one of the most underappreciated vehicles in Aston Martin's recent past. Not only are they SUPER rare but they serve an important purpose for the brand (though subtle) and that is the passing on of the design torch from the Fisker/Callum generation to the our current deign boss Marek Reichman. 20 years from now I wouldn't be surprised if these rare beauty's end up in museums because of their importance.

DB9 is a very beautiful sports car. The GT model is even more so.

Its such a special car! This one is now in ownership of a car collector. He saw the value of GT and couldn't resist how special it is.
