  • Installing a Clean cut step in beige into a acrylic tub. This video isn't much of a tutorial but more a quick look on how its installed. If you're installing one and need some tips or have questions look below and leave a comment.
    Install tips:
    - Note any type of clamp on grab bar or chairs that need to be installed after your install so neither of those things come in contact with the step in.
    - Prep your tub with tape after templating before cutting into the tub. Any painters tape will minimize damage to the finish tub from the saw guard or blade while cutting
    - Take your time! when templating the tub and transferring to the step in use a pencil or fine tip marker. The closer you can cut to the template the less caulk you need to use after.
    - When caulking have a bottle of soapy water handy, There are many videos of how to silicone with soapy water and i found it yields the best results for the included silicone.
    Thanks for watching!

Thanks. Nice to at least see it done to get a "feel" for it before attempting to do it myself.

I feel like the toilet could have been flushed before filming.

This little czcams.com/users/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.

Did you use a 2" jigsaw blade? The shortest I can find is 3". The instructions say to just snap off the excess, but I'm not sure how to do that without messing the blade up.

WE installed one but have an excess of the adhesive on the edge of the tub. Any hints on how to remove it. Otherwise the installation went well.

In this video czcams.com/video/VXPRAA26mBs/video.html they put something into the cut open area of the wall before installing the top piece. Is that optional? I didn't see you do that here.

I don't know what he was spraying but isopropyl alcohol is recommended for cleaning by the manufacture.

Ya, what was he spraying? I'm a contractor and adhesives shouldn't be contaminated with anything during application. Perhaps the adhesive they include suggests using something to smooth out the bead? When I used traditional caulking, I only use a wet finger or wet sponge as water evaporates.

Looks like windex or equivalent glass cleaner which helps smooth/ blend caulking

Dude that kit did not include the waterproof membrane and apparently those instructions that this guy read did not say to torch the bottom of the accessory the instructions I found on their website say to take a blow torch to the bottom of the accessory but do not burn it I do not know what the purpose of that is however they also send a waterproof membrane that goes down before you sit the accessory onto the tub

Your best bet is with a grinder. The porcelain might chip
