    I love that yellow. I have some marigolds in my garden that are pretty much that color. BTW the “i” in marigold is a schwa-it is almost skipped like the “a” in around or about. (Sorry, it’s the teacher in me.)

    My favorite thing about the Amaco celadon glazes is that you can mix them to create your own colors, and it wont affect the chemistry of the glaze itself

      I just did that with Jade and Sky and it worked perfectly.

    My Understanding that the Amaco Jar glazes have instructions on the Jar to apply 2- 3 coats and their web site has a video how to apply these coats and they Brushed the glazes on . I have not seen anyone use the jars for dipping .i always though the dipping version one would have to make with a powdered for . Very interesting

      Yeah that's the cool thing about Amaco glazes. Some of them say brushing and some of them say dipping .... but I've learned over time that they basically both do the same thing no matter what you do with them...

    I love celedon glazes. They are so stable. True celedon looks fantastic. Everyone loves anything I put that on. Underglaze black and wipe it back and cover with true celedon works well to show details. I've started making magnets to bring to nceca. NCECA is only a couple hours from me. It will be the first time I've been to one. Hoping to run into you there.

    Dude!!! I've been dying to see more information on Merigold! There's like nothing out there! I'm thinking about making some fish mugs and want to add yellow to it. Also, in Wisconsin... Layering with forest green might be able to intrigue some Green Bay fans without necessary written consent from the NFL.

    When I test glazes, I like to add texture to my test tiles/forms to see how well the glaze wither highlights or hides the texture. Perhaps you could add some texture next time?

    How much do you water down the glaze to make it dip worthy? Also how many dips/pours did you do? I've been struggling with Amaco glazes and have been trying to find the happy medium of layers.

    You like celadon glazes don’t you?

  • @fang2111
    @fang2111 Před 4 lety

    If i have a carved bisque that have speckle dots, is it possible to layer one coat of white glaze on the bisque (so as to hide the speckle), followed by the celadon glaze, would the effect of the celadon be hidden by white glaze or my carving cannot be seen?
    Not sure if I spell things correctly, still a beginner trying out different glazes. Thank you!

      It's a very popular glaze, it's a good one to show. Also, I personally like it a lot, it's one that I keep stocked in my studio most of the time.

    • @adamhanson5565
      @adamhanson5565 Před 4 lety

      What I'm trying to say is, there's a lot of merit to showing how that specific glaze blends with other glazes.

    Hi there
    What caused the pin holes in surface on the marigold on white body

    • @EarthNationCeramics
      @EarthNationCeramics  Před 4 lety

      Pin holes are usually caused by gases escaping from out of the clay body or the glaze. I didn't have any trouble with pinholes while using this glaze but whenever someone has glaze issues with something that is fairly stable I usually suggest a change of that clay first and see if that changes anything.
      ( changing your class probably the easiest thing you can do because after that you have to look at the actual formula and atmosphere)

    • @mudbrains4881
      @mudbrains4881 Před 4 lety +1

      Earth Nation Ceramics I don’t quite understand when you say “ I didn’t have any trouble with pin holes while using this glaze “there were pin holes I could see

    You should donate the ones you don't like to a local homeless or women's shelter. It seems such a waste to just break them IMHO.

    Hey Bro! This kind of gold yellow look soooo better on separate patern with a brigth apple red, a mât White ( like mashmellow ) ( tape méthode) and or a tangerine Line that drip with a (made with a evil big BRUSH) on IT!! Think about marigold flower!! Not good for terra cota . Better on White clay. If you want mix IT, mix with à grape color (its a true contrast). For me its a big fail! Try again!! Your test is desapointing (at my point of view) i love your vid. Anyway... But not this test!!!
