    The positive is that NIO doesn’t have to lose existing customers. I think that’s a big advantage of the BaaS strategy. It will bring in more of those customers worried about reduced value of the car with a fixed battery.

      @@MathewVarkey-lp6gp I don’t understand your question. Battery maintenance isn’t the responsibility of the NIO customer when they own a NIO. The maintenance is taken care of by the battery swap side of the business. Therefore the cars will maintain their value, and as battery innovation improves, the batteries provided can also be updated. So the customer will never lose out, both by battery innovation and also the value of their battery is existing car into the future. Do you agree?

      @@joshua5056 NIO doesn’t replace the batteries, it fixes the issue within the battery. This is a cost, but not the cost associated with replacing a battery. If NIO followed the ‘idea’ of selling EVs with a solid battery, this will result in devastating consequences in the long run when customers realise it’s more expensive to replace a fixed battery than buy a new car. Swappable batteries also allows NIO cars to benefit of new advances battery innovation when it’s released in the future. Does this answer your question?

    Come on Mr P you have not thought this through at all.
    What is stopping NIO using software to limit the amount a Battery gives a customer?
    As for the ET9 how many do you realistically think they can sell?
    With Firefly going to have it's own set of swap stations rumoured to be made my CATL it sounds like $NIO is on top of this.

    You miss the point. Who's buying fixed battery cars in the future when owners wake up? Nio swap is the way forward with all EVs. What sells Nio cars?? Swap as you said. Time to take your medication Mr P. 🤒

    Eventually I believe in China swapping technology will be the Norm for EV'S. Anyone not converting will die off Eventually.. This technology is too good for the consumers, the grid, & for longer term sustainability overall.. Fixed cell EV'S have one chance, that is solid state packs with battery chemistry that will not have any longer term degradation issues, can charge super fast, & be super safe.. & of course all be done cheaper & be mass produced.. We aren't even close atm imho to this.. So swapping technology in China will continue to grow until it eventually takes over, (in China)..
    The US won't allow the Chinese access into the US. Kinda like a doctor testing the reflexes of the knee with a little hammer.. The leg will kick almost every time.. You think that Oligarch Musk will allow US politicians to allow the Chinese access to the US market?? Not a snowballs chance in Hell !!! He wants this north American market all to himself.. ✅️

    It’s amazing how he is slowly processing why Tesla abandoned this solution years ago. Battery degradation is in your imagination there are only two groups propagating this nonsense Legacy automotive and people who believe battery swapping is a good solution to charging. In a year Mr. P will finally figure it out some people process at a slower pace. I want to pat him on the head for starting to figure it out.

    You are very discouraging. This seems like a lot of issues that have to be handled on Nios side. Baas beneficial for customer, horrible for company.
    How can the customer benefit from it, while the company kills itself?
    Eventually, the company won’t live and the customers won’t benefit anymore.
    Smh.

      They are doing a good job, but it does cost NIO and not the owner, which is great for the owner, also upgrading the entire network will be a big hurdle

    Mr. P thank you for your videos and permanent research on NIO. Regarding the battery variety on the swap stations, I wouldn’t worry. This is all two new and it will take time to tunning it up. However, this is the future of gas stations! Having removable batteries on the cars is simple logic, like a little kid control remote car. Separating batteries from cars is a big game changer.

    Also, the voltage differences problem already has a solution that NIO has both filed patents for and introduced as part of either a NIO Day or Tech Day event. I remember seeing it in a presentation, and in patent filings.

    It is BAAS rental which pays battery maintenance.
    And for batteries they can make some compatible with both 400v and 900v. Maybe they are already ready for that. If they did not think about it before they are really not good.

    The battery have life time 8 years.After 4 years the battery is paid off,so 4 more BAS years is profit.
    The the swap is samthing we pay and the electricity,so NIO is making money from that .
    More cars mot Swapstations more batteris more profit...

    It's certainly unfortunate. Nio stock remains in penny stock territory and is even declining while the market is rising. What we really need is a new CEO who is conscientious about current spending and can reorganize by cutting unnecessary expenses to accelerate profitability. This includes restructuring all areas, such as the costly Nio houses.

    This is really complicated and not easy to manage. I always have this issue in my mind. This is why I was not happy with 120KW and 150KW battery packs. The solution is to reduce cost by standardizing battery packs and to increase the time when introducing new bigger battery packs. At certain point in time, NIO has to upgrade old battery packs and this can only be funded through the money coming from BaaS.

    I only listened to the 1st 3rd of your video.... but there's an old saying - "they've built it into the price?" So, ultimately the customer pays for it. The customer pays for the battery maintenance since its factored into the BaaS subscription. I could be wrong, but this is my assumption.

    BAAS is like Ford building out the entire gas station infrastructure when it introduced the Model T in 1910. Very expensive. But once it is accepted and becomes the norm for recharging, no one can sell an EV that doesn't use it.

    You keep suggesting NIO is going to have to stock all these different size battery packs in their swap stations. NO, THEY WONT HAVE TO. The introduction of these different size packs is going to be possible 1) because of software-controlled capacity restrictions (which you've already discussed and acknowledged in a prior video), and 2) because it's also a work-around for mitigating the collective/ shareholder-bourne cost of maintaining the battery swap battery assets and degradation problems you cited earlier in this video.

    I think you are wrong. You can handle like 75/100/120 kWh at 400/800 volts as to be one and the same battery. Tesla did this already back in 2016. You always have 120 kWh/800V batteries in the station and then you just limit its capacity and voltage config with software. There's already vehicles on the market than can switch between 400V and 2x 400V to have max. compatibility for 400/800 chargers. Same problem there already solved. Yes it is a bit more expensive to work with these high capacity battery packs but in the long run it's not necessarily. The larger batts live longer, charge and recup faster and can last for a lot more milage than the smaller batts. NIO for sure has thought that through.

    Why would Nio design cars that use different batteries when its strategy is BAAS???? Use ONE battery for all cars including Onvo and Firefly. *If necessary use two batteries for the longer range versus one battery for the short range option.*

    I think NIO can let people to buy the battery and rent it. So NIO can be the operator with 70% swap fee goes to the battery owner and 30% for NIO.
    Maintain 2-3 years operation for battery owner to become profitable 100%. Once owner get 100% profit, the rest of battery can be the asset for NIO.
    The same with swap station, they can franchise it and charge operating and maintenance fee (maintenance should be on NIO side to keep maintaining the quality and standard)

    Surely there is a way to downgrade voltage of the new batteries so they could be used in Nio's. It really would be amazing to have more battery options for both brands. I'd love there to be like a 30kwh battery for my nio. I assume it's impossible to make them compatible otherwise It would be stupid Not to do it but hopefully in the future it becomes possible with new tech.

    Battery swap fees and Battery leases should include a degradation surcharge. The cost of maintenance replacing cells in the Battery packs is much cheaper than replacing the entire unit. Having a removable battery tray in an EV should be required by law. Can u imagine a TV remote control that didn't have removable battery tray? This isn't Rocket Science, but apparently Elon Musk never replaced common batteries [AA C D AAA] in toys as a kid.

    Lol...Mr P you haven't really thought this through. The scariest part for me is that a great % of Nio shares are owned by retail investors and they fud and/or fomo so easily, and they don't even realize it, shorts have been making tons of money on their behalf. If we truly believe in Nio, we have to remain strong and steady. Mr P on one video he is so bullish the next video in the next 5 minutes not so much.

    BS time again!
    The battery asset company buys the batteries from NIO and then over time collects more money than it paid. They should make enough revenue to keep batteries alive and fix them. NIO has recently learned that their batteries last much longer than they thought so the battery asset company can either make a killing or drop prices. They decided to lower prices.
    400V or 800V is a matter of cell configuration. They can hardwire packs to 400V or 800V but they can also built them in a way that makes them able to switch from one to the other voltage. Not only so - look into NIO patents. They thought of it long time ago.
    As for smaller packs - they can drop low capacity packs and send out more 800V switchable 100kWh or 120kWh packs that however only deliver 75kWh to the customer. Whats the problem?
    NIO currently has some 3k swap stations. If each holds 10 packs then there are 30k packs in circulation. That is not much. If NIO keeps selling 200k vehicles a year they can simply solve YOUR made up problem by adding 800V switchable 100kWh or 120kWh packages to the system over time.

    Investors like battery swap, it cost money and slows profitability... But investors do not like , is Li's grand fantasy of multiple sub brands, blowing investor money like it was his. WHY is ONVO a sub brand, waste of money... Why is Firefly a Sub Brand... Waste of MONEY... Usually companies establish a lower end car before developing high end... NIO is the complete opposite. Why compete with BYD on lower end cars...
