- Showing the operation of the birds eye view of the new highlander with the 13.2 in screen. How to use it and also how to shut it off. This system allows you to see around the vehicle without getting out. Also called a perimeter scan.
learn something new again! Thanks Steve
No problem. Happy to help
First impressions: Like all technology intended to improve our lives, it’s always a “ work in progress “. The more push button options just complicates our lives. This needs to be streamlined to be more computer controlled. I have a EV where almost all controls are in a flat screen. I’ve gotten lots of feedback from friends saying that design kind of intimates them for a comfortable driving experience.
Icons need to be universal to help as well
another great video.
Thanks again!
Great video! I've watched a hundred videos on the front and rear cameras on 2018 Camry XLE. I'm sure my front camera did not have a split screen. Driving into a parking spot just showed the front of my car and how close I was getting to the bush, tree, etc. lines and the beeping getting louder the closer I got to the that object; this worked for me. I touched something (?) and now I have a front split screen, Birdseye view and the visual of what's around me is difficult for me to see what I need. I really think before I goofed things up, my front visual only showed my car, full screen with the lines and beeping as a got closer to the front of the garage. Am I imaging this? If I'm not is there a way I can change this view to the wide view? Thanks, no matter if I can change this or not. I have watched a lot of your videos and I think they are spot on for clarity and understanding. Paula
What’s the big black thing on the screen when in Auto and slowly moving forward toward something? Very annoying - glad for these videos because the Toyota manual absolutely sucks for explaining anything or even looking anything up. They don’t even explain all the acronyms they constantly use.
i believe the reason for it is so you dont use it to drive with rather to park with. Thank you for the words on my videos
That black blob on the screen is obnoxious when trying to park or in my garage, What if I am using it to pull in behind the pool guy or construction pick-up truck with poles or 2x4s sticking out?
Any way to delete that, do the 2024 models do the same?

awesome education video
Thank you
Finally! Thx
Happy to help
Hello, how is the back up camera quality on it..
Birdseye view on my new one looks awesome and like HD, but the other one normal back up seems fuzzy, blurry and not what you'd expect on a 50k limited.
Wondering if all are the same or if mine is defective
they look really good
I am having similar problems with camera on my limited (fuzzy, blurry, and dark) Am very disappointed with the performance and quality they are dangerous. Toyota should recall these trucks and install better quality cameras with better visibility! Its a shame that every time I see a video about these SUVs no one ever points out these problems!
@@zekev4814 have you cleaned the lens?
@@zekev4814
I agree
I honestly don't think it is the lense being dirty . Camera quality is just not there.
I went back to the dealer and showed them mine and they allowed me to see other new ones and they all looked subpar doe the vehicle it is.
I see this as OK on an old 2008 vehicle lowest trim, but not on a 2021 Limited highlander.
I would not even expect this on a corolla either.

I have just learned to live with it.
Awesome video. Very good information. What is the black block when the front camera is on? Is there a way to remove the block from the live view?
that is meant to keep someone from only watching the camera. No its not removable
Does the 2023 Highlander XLE have this ?
Thank you Sir 🙏🫡
Glad to help. If you can help me I am trying to get my second channel up to 1000 subscribers. Here is one of the videos on it. I hope you like it. czcams.com/video/gGC6xQIHSzk/video.html
Does the camera show you the side when you turning like how honda has lane holding camera
Not while you are driving over 7 mph. It is very unsafe to take someone's eyes off of the road at higher speeds
I have a 22 xse, can I add the front camera?
There are camera systems aftermarket but you cannot add birds eye after the fact for the factory system
Where can i find the button of the in front camera ?
Left dash
