    Alan. Hang in there. I also have prostate cancer, and am undergoing radiation daily as well as ADT. Those in our situation understand what you are feeling and agree with what you are saying. Its hard not to let this overwhelm us, however, I hope you can do just that. Glad you enjoyed your vacation ("holiday"). Try to do more of that and enjoy every minute. I find myself enjoying things more now, things that bored me in the past. So, go out and have a drink and eat a steak and have a laugh or two. We are blessed (or lucky) to be alive. Make the best of it my friend. Rob Rosanelli, Phoenix, Arizona, USA

    Alan, I’m Stage 4, Metastatic. Just hit 5 years. Done it all, Surgeries, Radiation, ADT, Chemo. Currently CRMPC, have new tumors and doing Radiation again. Waiting for Pluvicto. (Lutathera). Its a long slow journey but it beats the alternative. 👍🏼

    Hi Allen thanks for your videos I have written you before and know what you are saying about wife’s feelings and having to live with this stuff every day. Being in remission doesn’t mean you’re cured knowing it can come back anytime. I just told my wife taking my 4 horse pills of ZYTIGA every morning is getting old and finally admitted to her about some of the side effects aren’t very pleasant. She has a lot to deal with. This is the first time in two years I have felt good enough to work on the house and go fishing. Every time I have to do a PSA and scan I hold my breath and pray they don’t find anything. I try to keep positive and some days it’s pretty hard and try to tell myself things could be worse. It’s hard for people that haven’t been going through this what it’s like for us every day. Take care and hope your PSA is just a yawn.

    Good to see you again! I sympathize. With stage 3 prostate cancer, radiation knocked the wind out of me, and ADT dropped my energy/indurance levels 80 percent. Is fighting every staircase a satisfactory quality of life??? Your enjoyment of your holiday gives me hope that someday, somewhere, I will regain a sense of happiness to be alive. Thanks for letting us into your life, and give Rupert a pat on the head. Such a good patient dog!

      @@iamric23 Hi , I’m not sure what a pi -rad is. Originally my Gleason score was 3+3. Further on I was having problems with bladder retention and infection ( one hospital acquired anti biotic resistant infection was result of bladder retention test ! ). They did another biopsy which showed 3+4 so instead of a TURP the best way forward was a radical prostatectomy. I’m now catheter free and regaining a normal life and hopefully cancer free .

    • @iamric23
      @iamric23 Před 6 měsíci

      @@vladtheimpaler8995 The Pir-rad score comes from the MRI exam. They look at all the parts of the prostate that gets examined and they rank it by, 1,2,3,4,or 5, A pirad 5 is the worst, it means that you have cancer, but it does not mean that it is a dangerous type. How many months were you under active surveillance before you were diagnosed as a 3 + 4?

      Lutetium Lu 177 (Pluvicto). I’m Stage IV also but not so dire at this point so I will probably be waiting a while for this treatment. This treatment can actually produce remission and disappearance of metastases so this is the most efficacious treatment to come along yet for advanced prostate cancer cancer.

    Metastatic prostate cancer, I am a lucky one so far, I never placed my faith in the medicine but in Well Being. On ADT I have gained muscle mass and lost weight; I exercise, sauna and sunbath like nobody's business. I got my Vitamin (D) (is a Hormone) up considerably.

    I'm dying of prostate Cancer stage 4 metastasis my PSA currently is 430.4 and every 3 months I get tested it's going up & I'm dying! I think I have around 12-14 months of life left in me so I might reach 62y next year but by then I'll be in a critical condition!
    My Gleason is 9 aggressive cancer very aggressive so once I research it taking ADT chemotherapy won't work & I'll only be DAMAGING my self even more & my quality of life will suffer badly! Once you research your cancer if like in my case I was diagnosed very very late after 8 years going to my doctor he missed all the signs!? I was told in 2019 that I had stage 3 prostate cancer so by then my body had already been flooded by Micro cancers! So no treatment would work! The Oncologist don't tell you this because they want to give you HOPE! I'm a practical person & once I read & understood cancer I have just accepted DEATH! I take it so we'll with good grace and dignity because I've had a FANTASTIC life 4 children had a great job etc etc BUT the main thing is I have always had FAITH!! I was born 1963 so I'm an old style guy I don't cry it's not in me I don't fold it's not in my character I accept death because I did everything possible to flag up to my then GP something was seriously wrong with me! Remember Cancer today is a Business!

    if i have it , ppl wont like me . lol . as i said in another video . i was given a death sentence years ago with my heart , and the honest truth is . i hope i do have the cancer , noone understands that hahaha . i have 23 % heart left due to heaps of heart attacks and i have a ICD implanted cardio device aka a defibrillator . its gone off 2 times upto now , and its a freaking nightmare , its like being electrocuted and kicked by a horse at the same time . im horrified of it going off , the thing is , when my heart gives in . the defib , will keep shocking me trying to revive me until im gone . and thats not a nice way to die , i know , ive flat lined 4 times , i wanted the thing switched off , id rather die than keep going through that until i have 0 heart left , but they refuse to turn it off , because their job is to save lives , not let them go . UNLESS i get a terminal illness . then i can have it turned off so i dont get shocked when the illness gets me , ive been given a ball park life expectancy , its not very long now lol . so for me to have cancer . could actually be the difference between dying in horror flipping around like a fish being shocked , and dying in my sleep fron end of life meds . and be comfortable and die with a bit of dignity . its a very unusual case i know . but sometimes these things are sent to try yu lol . and none of its getting the better of me , im 58 . got noone im gonna leave behind . been suffering alot of years . and the way things are atm in the world , i think im the lucky one . lol and ill die a pure blood . lol . theyre not winning with me lol .

      i should say . ive had a few friends die of cancer . one imparticular . i spent the whole 9 months she was ill with her every day . and 24 hours a day in palliative care with her and learned alot about cancer . because i had to give her meds when i could take her out for a few hours . i also made alot of friends in there that all passed away . 31 in total . so i know death very well . its not something that scares me , or i wont openly talk about . its something will all do . and as i say . in 100 year time , which isnt long , everyone on this planet today , will have died and gone . its not something anyone can escape .

    Sorry Alan but I think you could be a lot more positive in your outlook. We are all dying slowly, life is a sexually transmitted terminal disease after all! I have had advanced PC for over a decade now. Just turned 70. In that time I’ve had initially highly focused radiotherapy, there were fewer options back then, a Gleason of 9, PSA of 37, chemo five years ago. Have metastatic spread to my hip bones and seminal glands for the last four but touch wood, not yet any further. I live alone. We all have our dark days but I think probably something else will get me, not PC. My greatest fear is of breaking bones due to the hormonal treatment that I and probably you are on and therefore, as a physically active person, immobility.
