  • We are officially ready to paint the car! Remember yesterday when we took someone's suggestion about putting a tarp on the floor to hold back the dirt and dust? Well, I'm thinking they never tried it.... 😝

It helps to have high dollar tools but I've seen paint jobs with harbor freight spray guns and $100 a gallon industrial paint... I've got pictures from 10 feet away 😊 people buy cars just because they have all the same colored panels.

I have used tarps several times and never had it stick like that at all. I also have a large intake and exhaust system that I put in myself from stuff I bought from Menards. One of your biggest problems is you have no intake and a tiny tiny little fan that is no different than a $20 box fan from Walmart. I am not trying to be mean at all, it's just 90 percent of your troubles are the lack of fresh air intake and a much bigger exhaust fan. You have WAY WAY WAY more money than I will ever have and I just can't understand wy you don't get the things you need 💯 absolutely love your videos. As always Chad is an amazing builder and Jolene is amazing with the camera and the shots she gets are amazing.

Is Chad making child payments? Perhaps if he is, that explains why Chad can't just run out and spend tons of money on new equipment and new tools he would like to have.
Back in the 60's after I did the body work on my 1955 chevy coupe, I took the car to Earl Shibe to be painted, it cost me 19.95 or 24.95 to get it painted, it was a terrific paint job, no runs or problems of any kind with the paint job. His painters probably painted more cars than any painters in America.

All of the paint we see in the air and not being sucked out of the room is settling on the tarp and also on your fresh paint job like fine over spray. I know you're making do with what you have to work with but a couple of minor improvements on the room could make a big difference.

Painter's tarps are fabric, like a light canvas. Unlike the plastic, the cloth absorbs the paint unlike the plastic which keeps the paint on the surface which allows it to remain wet. As you have discovered that wet paint sticks to your shoes and then to the plastic. Congratulations on an excellent paint job with just the perfect color. Thanks for the awesome videos. And good job Jolene for holding the camera steady, so we don't get nausious, you are definetely one of the better camera men/women :-)
I see that you (Jolene) sometimes get caught in the spray direction of the paint and just want to say please remember that the isocyanate in the urethane paints is really toxic, so it is really important to always wear a respirator and clothes that cover all of your skin as well as a full face mask and preferably even a balaclava so no skin is exposed to the paint :-) I would give the same suggestion to Chad, but know that he likely is in to deep to change that :-D
Anyway good nobe on the videos, and man the cars look good after Chad has painted them, what a wizzard

Might want to put in a couple more air lines so you get rid of the need to wrestle the hose around the car. Just unhook and switch to hose on other side.

Nice job, Chad! It's a proper shiny result. The tarp was a good idea - but not a plastic one. A canvas tarp would not be sticky.

Chad and Jolene for future reference that extra quart of paint you got you should’ve mixed it all together with all you had so if your color matches a little bit off on that quart you may have a problem

I would flame the front end, with yellow, to orange flames with the flames outlined with royal blue, pin stripe. Like the old Californian Kid paint job, that Harley Davidson used around the early to mid 2000s.

Great job on the paint But all the other things going on never sidetracked you. Three things I came away with you need a bigger and lower prep station in the spray booth maybe a canvass tarp instead of plastic like house painters use (could cost a fortune though) and you and Queen Jolene are a great team. I know the shoulda coulda woulda thing applies here but if all else fails save this video for down the road sometimes when you two need few laughs .......Thanks for a great channel and all your hard work.

Man I know that wasn't easy to work with the paint getting on the tarp and getting stuck to it. But bro you held up and it looks amazing!! Funny part this video was the paint can opener was stuck to Chad's foot and he was walking around with it. Lol. I didn't think about the paint sticking to that tarp but yeah don't ever do that again. But bro the paint job looks amazing. Way to go !!
