  • After taking the Amity Bloom course I have finally bound a journal for myself. This is such a fun and interesting technique with so possibilities; I can't wait to start filling it.

      Thanks so much Andrea. Adding pieces the recipient may like always makes the process more enjoyable. PS apologies for the very slow reply.

    Neap. I’m finishing one now. It’s pretty difficult and different than Nazy’s. I hope to do a video this week.

      I know what you mean, I actually made a smaller test version just to get my head around the construction. Once I got the hang of it I made 3 more as gifts and one for myself. It's one of my favourite journals. Hope you enjoy finishing yours 😊

      Thank you Patricia! I feel like you can keep coming back to the basic construction and make endless versions and variations.

    I love it! I might end-up taking that class from Amity Bloom as I really like her style but I wonder if I would really learn something as I have been an intense scrapbooker, giving classes myself, for many years. I just subscribed to your channel ... i do love the stitching too ... that is something new for me and doing junk journals allows me to put all that together ... all my precious together! I started a channel during covid, to show my new junk journal passion creations with family and friends as I could not show them in real. Getting addicted! :)

      Oh thank you very much!! I don't have the scrapbooking background myself but certainly learned new techniques during the course. I just adore her style and fell in love with the artist in bloom journals when she shared them originally. I knew I'd probably never own one of Nazi's originals, so learning to make my own would be the next best thing. I appreciate you watching and subscribing x

    Your journal is so beautiful! I love all the fabrics and the spine is gorgeous! I would love to see how you work on your pages. Thank you for sharing!

      Simple Mountain Life thank you for your lovely comment. I need to remember the journal is meant to be used and not just stored ☺️

    Beautiful! No matter how many I see, I find something unique and inspiring in each one! I have made one so far and it will be for me because I made all sorts of mistakes... lol but I am eager to make more as I think they would be wonderful gifts!!

      Wow, thank you! 💕 I agree, each one I see is beautiful and unique - check out Heidi MacGregor on CZcams, she's made a fabulous one. It was a tricky technique to master so I hope you'll make some more as they really are special journals x

    I enjoy the Amity Bloom channel very much. Your personal Artist in Bloom journal is so charming and lovely. I hope you will do another flip thru as you work through the pages. It is unfortunate for us that you didn't video the other journals before they went to their forever homes.

      Oh Janet, how lovely of you to say. I'm sorry I didn't film the others I made. TBH I ran out of time and was still working on them the night before they were gifted 😅 Thank for the encouragement to show future work xx

    Hi Melanie, your journal is beautiful and l love the gorgeous colours you have chosen, very English/ French and all those laces and doilies ❤️I’ve thought about doing that class too, the ones I’ve seen completed are beautiful and each a little different. Can I please ask the beautiful paper from the florist, did you use a embossing folder for that and do you mind telling me which on. I’m new to your channel it’s lovely seeing more Aussie online, I live in Gippsland Victoria. Looking forward to watch more, I have just watched your craft room tour too, it looks like mine, take care Jodie x

      Sorry for my slow replies...I did use an embossing folder on the blue paper - Sizzix 3D Textured Impressions A6 called flower Heart Doodle, designed by Courtney Chilson and the product number is 662455. I think I got it from Craftonline.com.au (or possibly Spotlight on special). It takes a bit of getting used to because the folder is much thicker than others but makes a lovely pattern as you saw. I love Amity Bloom and highly recommend the course. So nice to know another Aussie too! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment 🤗

    Do you know what materials, tools, and experience you need before purchasing the class? Just curious if not having a sewing machine would greatly affect the end result and/or the fun in creating. Also you mentioned slow stitching and I wondered if that means hand sewing? I can’t find a good video of hand sewing on paper for journals. Only videos that come up are how to sew in signatures. Sorry for the loaded questions. This is gorgeous.

    • @heyseaville55
      @heyseaville55  Před 4 lety +1

      You only need basic skills and materials. You possibly already have everything you need; scissors, glue, paper, scrap card stock and some fabric. It's not essential to have a sewing machine as it's used to add decorative elements to the book and you can still complete it by hand sewing alone. Slow stitching refers to hand sewing. Try searching Pinterest for slow stitching or hand stitching. Most of the stitches can be applied to paper, or sewn on to fabric first and then glued on to paper/card. Hope that helps and happy creating 🤗
