Did you have a fake ID to get into my clubs when you were underage? Do undocumented immigrants drive using fake drivers licenses? Did you know that a college ID with a photograph, birthdate, and student number is not acceptable under some of these new laws because the board of supervisors don’t want a bunch of liberal college students voting them out of office, even though the college students have lived there and spent money there for four years? Did you know the citizens of Florida approved overwhelmingly for a law allowing ex-cons to vote? But the state legislators who are white do not want the ex-cons, who are mostly black, to vote them out of office, so they amended the law to say that first, before voting, the ex-cons must pay all their court fees. The only problem is, the courts don’t keep good records of court fees because ex-cons usually don’t pay them back. So the black ex-cons will not be voting, and the will of the people is undermined.

Not exactly. She slipped a sly "true but misleading stat" in there. In all likelihood ALL racial demographics "used it" when it was offered. Stands to reason. Black people COULD have used it the LEAST per capita, yet it would still be a "true but misleading stat" to say "lots of black people used it, then they took it away" (obviously due to racial animus)

@@thewardenofoz3324 we are all the part of one race "The Human Race". Some of us have more or less melanin in our skin, but more melanin or less within our skin does not exclude anyone as being part of "the human race". Doctor Martin Luther King expressed this quite well in his "I have a Dream" speech so for a few allow me to indulge us with words from that awesome speech :
Dr. KING: I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.
Dr. KING: I have a dream that one day down in Alabama with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, one day right down in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today.
Dr. KING: I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
Dr. KING: This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning: My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrims' pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring.
And if America is to be a great nation, this must become true. And so let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania. Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado. Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California. But not only that, let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia. Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee. Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.
And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: Free at last. Free at last. Thank God almighty, we are free at last.
I especially want to point this out in his speech:
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
Dr. King never says within this speech that the color of anyones skin is the most important quality, and that ones color is over anyone else's, nor did he say that we must become divided and go back into segregation, or the Jim Crow years, within this nation, create casts of people. Instead he wanted us all to join in the chorus of Free at last , free at last as one voice , as one nation, as one people, color blind. That is the chorus I want to be a part of !!!!!!!!!!!!

@@karlmeaney8119 so, if she added buzz words like "Inherent Bias" and "Systemic Racism" into her response, that's enough of an explanation for you, to consider her response a valid answer? Just because Stacey Abrams asserts inherent bias exists, which is an unverifiable claim, doesn't mean that it exists and furthermore, doesn't prove it would have any effect, negative or positive nor does it prove what party or racial demographic this "inherent Bias" directly and primarily oppresses. I have a really strong feeling, based off my own observations, Abrams has "inherent Biases" based off her neverending attempts to inject Race into situations where Race is irrelevant. I have no solid, verifiable or tangible evidence that she's a Racist but, we don't need to verify. The accusation is enough if you say it's, "Inherent" and any denial of the accusation that she's a Racist, is apparently, equal to giving a signed confession. It's complicated? Lmao!

It's a long answer but you should research it if you're really interested. An example is many big cities have millions of people, many are people of color and the ratio of registrant to poll location is abysmal. There are some locations that are sent to handle 50k to 100k or more people. And then you go to rural locations, where they serve 50 to 100 people. There's one poll location in Iowa (might be another) that has 33 registered voters, so obviously for those people they could vote in a matter of seconds lol I want a lunch break to vote. In big cities with millions of people, that's a different story. However this is a really brief summary, you should really look it up and look at the map because it's interesting the ratio of registered voters to poll locations in big cities versus small towns.

actually, i didn't see a whole lot of dodging. to the contrary, when kennedy asked which provisions of the law are objectionable, she rattled off a long list and only stopped when kennedy had had enough. kennedy is very good (usually with judicial and agency nominees) at pinning people down when they actually refuse to answer. this, however, was not his finest hour. abrams comes off as fair and reasonable and kennedy looks like a partisan hack.
