Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, Cameron Diaz and Rupert Everett star in MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING, a high-spirited romantic comedy that serves up something wild, something new, something touching and something truly hilarious. Roberts dazzles as commitment-shy Jules Potter, who reluctantly realizes she is in love with her best friend Michael (Mulroney). There is just one catch: he's about to marry someone else. Comically crazed and full of devious plans, Jules will do anything to steal him back... except tell him the simple truth.

Rupert Everett should have won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role as George in My Best friend's Wedding.. the Say a Little Prayer restaurant scene was so iconic .. to that it was what the film is best remembered for ..
I agree! he was just a side character but he stole the whole movie 👏 His charisma is unmatched
Over Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting??? Not a chance.
@@y0urboy Robin Williams was a great actor but never truly outstanding in that movie.. He should have won the award earlier in Dead Poet's Society..
@@lawrencelou3545 Good Will Hunting was his greatest performance. Dead poets society was an amazing movie. However, Daniel Day Lewis is a superior actor. Robin Williams never had a chance in 1990.
@@y0urboy one mention of My Best Friends Wedding and the restaurant scene comes to mind.. how iconic can that be? So memorable.. What scene In Good Will Hunting can be singled out as equally? None.. Robin Williams won because he was a well known actor while Rupert Evert was a non A lister.. the Oscars have time and again been political..
Rupert stole that movie right from under the rest of the cast.
He originally was just supposed to a couple of scenes, but when they saw how good he was, they kept writing more and more for him.
After stealing this movie, a lot of Rupert projects went into development. Unfortunately, the one that got made was a film with Madonna (straight woman tries to make a life with a gay man). The film flopped. Rupert’s brief moment of being on everyone’s must-film-with came to to an end.
@@Luchino Oh, I don't know. He was excellent in "An Ideal Husband" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" which were made after this and before the Madonna mistake. One of my favorite After Madonna movies was "Unconditional Love" with Kathy Bates. It is hilarious and they make a great team.
@@JohnDoe-1956 My comments are based on the third volume of Everett's autobiography, in which he discusses the aftermath to his huge success in this film.
@@Luchino You're so right. It's such a shame he did that terrible movie with Madonna.
I never understood how Kimmie's entire family was pitch-perfect and she was completely tone def!
Kimmie was soooooooooo hot!! lol
🤣😂 haahhaa , probably this is the only movie that I disslike both Julia and Cameron, equaly
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣✌🏾🇵🇷😅
My whole family can sing. My karaoke name is Tone-Def.
Cause she just don't know what to do with herself... ;-P
The sisters just hammering the background vocals for George is incredible lol
Plus their creativeness with the ice sculpture of David. 😂
My favorite
She seemed embarrassed but, it would be a dream to have this happen at any wedding. Best scene in a movie ever!
Except wasnt she in love with someone else?
in any resteraunt not wedding
I think he knows it makes her uncomfortable so he basically trolling since he's the guy best friend
@@ib_fame3595also in the movie he's literally Gay and she knows it 😂
@@VinceTheCreatorr lol that too
When Michael calls Jules to tell her he’s getting married, he mentions to her how he’s never been comfortable around rich people, but that Kimmie’s family is different and are wonderful people….this scene proves it.
Wow I never thought of that till now. So true ❤️
Strongly agree !! My favourite scene forever.
The world should actually be like this everyday. People just breaking into song and everyone joins in. ❤
We’re here for it! What song would you sing?
Lol
yup
god please no .....
@@worldcitizen9202lol...
Cameron Diaz's laugh is infectious
right it seemed so genuine!! her esophagus was even vibrating!! lol
Lol 😆😆
Her laugh was actually genuine. It was shot behind the scene and kept for the movie.
Yes, just like my fathers brothers daughter. A copy. I hope she will not get angry at me. She does look like a Cameron exactly.
God it brings me back to something about Mary 😍
Jules and Michael being so uncomfortable while everyone else is having a blast and singing is so so so well done. Great scene and acting by everyone.
Agreed. Especially Michael. I guess he was really jealous the more they sang.
😊😂
Nice scene😊
He looks so shocked lmao
Is it me, or did the 90s have some of the most memorable movies.
I’m proud to have been born back then
2023 and still this makes me smile for and ever !!
Same
At the end of the world, even in the Far East, just like you
Me too, i wish these kinds of memories happen to every wedding and marriage life.
This movie is my comfort movie. And this scene is my therapy ❤
Here I am in 2024
that's one of the best moment on that movie "my bestfirend's wedding". i kept playing it on my piano after i watched that. oh the good ol' days!
Esse filme é muito bom
Indeed it's the one thing I remember from the film after so many years. The swinging lobster gloves is extra! :D
He is such a great friend! If he weren't gay, them ending up together would have been a great ending.
I thought the same thing when I saw this. They make a handsome couple
I personally think that that would ruin the movie’s ending and its meaning though.
If only she weren't a cis straight woman
După ce se vede că e gay?
Well, in a way, they do end up together. I mean, they end the film together...
I loved how grandpa and grandma are still crazy for each other.
Rupert stole the movie for everyone, he should be nominated as Supporting Actor in Oscar.
I love them waving the crab claws totally Hilarious
Thank you, I had never realized it.😅🙂
@@jackieans1573 ha that is the funniest part of all :)
I just saw that just now lol I never notice before
What's better is that for most of this, they are just doing waiter stuff even as other tables are singing along. Other than the one guy who hopped on the piano.
It's not until the end, about 2:09 that they decide "this is going to be a thing" and start waving their claws.
I want claws for no reason except to have.
“What’d she say??” gets me every time.
The pause was everything
We should all have a moment like this.
Definitely
Hi Stephanie how are you doing
@@JohnWilliams-fj4rl I'm ok John hope you are too
@Janet Pratt thank you for your kind comment.
😉😍🙈
The swaying lobster claws get me every time 🤣
Julia’s acting whilst he’s singing doesn’t get spoken about enough… best acTRESS of all time. I said it.
True how hard it must have been to hold it all together and not burst out laughing!
Agreed!
Julia is a REALLY great actress, one of the most talented ever and this movie proves it💗
Today we say a little prayer for Burt's family....RIP Burt, the maestro of love songs.
Kudos to George who convinced everyone he's not gay WITH A MUSICAL NUMBER!
I like that the characters are all entirely, believably human. Very well done!
Lololol yeah ok
Honestly this. Saw this movie for the first time this year and loved how they weren’t all perfect!
And this moment made the film a hit.
I just love Rupert! I watch the film over and over again…he was hilarious and incredibly handsome!!
Totally in love for George🥰
This scene and their dance in the end of the movie are just fantastic😍🇧🇷
It never gets old. ❤️❤️❤️
I think it's because of the word FOREVER
( and EVER ) :)
The lobster claws send me into hysterics every time 😂
I though i was the only one
I swear the nostalgia from this scene makes me cry everytime 😂😂 it's just iconic 😭
One of the coolest spontaneous signing scenes in movies 😂😂😂❤
Rupert's voice is amazing!
24 years since I heard this and suddenly remembered it today! Just had to search and hear it once again! Love this one!
Same here, after decades of not thinking about it, you suddendly remember. What a great moment in movie history... how I wish this happened in real life sometimes :)
Good to see someone with same incident. Ì also suddenly remembered this scene & came searching here.
Happened here too.
You are not alone 😊
Happened tonight
Rupert is just adorable in this film.
This still my favorite scene on this movie♥️I love this song “ ageless “🥰 This will make your day. Everybody deserve joyful moment like this, singing with full of emotions💕💕💕
Hi Evelyn how are you doing
Yes, it's made my day this morning!
I love this scene solely because it brings a classic great song and turns it into a great “sing along” musical moment in the movie right at one of the most tense points. Jules is dead set on Michael, Michael loves Kimmy but for the moment is upstaged by Rupert and her having an engagement and being somewhat territorial of a woman he loves even if it’s platonically. I love the moments in movies where they place everything as uplifting at what is arguably going to be the “climax/critical” moment of a movie. The only thing I can think of that compares to “I say alittle prayer for you” being sung by a table while both Jules and Michael look unhappy is the “EVERYTHING’S GOING SO WELL!” In moulin rouge
I'm not going to lie I have been having a bad morning watching this small video cheered me up Instantly lol whoever see this hope you have a great day
I can’t tell how much I love these lobster gloves swinging in the air to that song.
Best scene of the entire movie.
Thank you Burt Bacharach and Hal David (RIP) for giving us this amazing song, no matter who sings it, it's always perfect.
I had to look up the song after streaming the movie
This scene is so classic and iconic!
It is one of the most refreshing movie. I love this movie.
The twins hahaha
Just one of those scenes in the cinema that in itself is a pep pill.
Rest In Peace, Mr Burt Bacherach. Your songs brought us so much joy!!!
My favorite scene!!! And I remember how much I love Julia Roberts and Rupert Everett ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful Song.
Julia Roberts is a Brilliant Actress.
I was a huge fan growing up saw nearly all of her movies you can't deny she has that sweet girl next door quality that's kind of innocent that suits romantic comedies very well
@@Model_Roe I Fully Agree. She is Exceptional.
Brilliant is too big a word
One of THE BEST movies scenes EVER!!!
I had such a big crush on George.
Me too! xP
Classic scene. Rupert was amazing in this movie
one of my all time favorite movie moments! This was the moment that made Rupert Everett a star!
The vibes on this scene are so lovely ! You feel the happiness and charm in here !!!
I know who made that song. I like the original song but I love this version. The actors were awesome at singing and even the obvious underplot of her being in love with someone else’s man and looking at him while her boyfriend was singing to her was perfect. This should have been the official video for the remix of that song .
George is not her boyfriend, he's a gay friend posing as her boyfriend.
Warwick
Dionne Warwick.
This whole movie is sill such a classic and this scene is absolutely ICONIC!! 🙏🏻🦀🎼🦀🙏🏻
why dont they make movies like this anymore? 😪
Lol they keep making silly remakes
Rupert is not just good at this singing part, he is so funny too in this movie 😂😂 i cracked a lot 😂😂
Memorably charming.
I say a little prayer for you, Rupert. And for Julia as well.
This was the best part of the whole movie
Love this movie. Love Cameron and Julia. The ending is another fav scene in this movie where Rupert is describing Julia's attire etc I love how Cameron was so classy and beautiful and Julias realism in losing a guy in the way she thought would always be there
One time for the cook/pianist.. he came in right clutch.. perfect timing..
Because of this movie, whenever I hear this song I do the crab/lobster claw wave hahaha, only the best people understand when I do it!!!
I love this movie and soundtrack I’m dedicated this song for my kids and my 2nd husband Maurice
I still can't believe that they let her come to the wedding after everything that happened. I know she helped them get back together, but damn that's wild that she still attended and was allowed to give a speech.
I freaking love this scene.
The moment everyone fell in love with George and wanted him and Julia to get together at the end
You remeber that George plays a gay friend?
This was one of my Mom's & my favorite movies. ❤ We had the soundtrack on cassette.
Hi heather how are you doing
The lobster claws always get me 😅
I can't think of a more wholesome movie moment.
Just goes to show; one moment of writer inspiration, can make an iconic scene in movie history, despite the rest of the movie.
Best scene ever
I love this version best! So true… when you love someone, it is just like this…
This scene is still very nice to see.
I continue to laugh so hard hearing seeing this scene.
Omg in love I was only 6 years old when this came out and still think this movie is one of the best out there such a classic reunion please
Oh yeah, Iove that scene Full of singing emotions ❣️
A great moment from one of my favourite movies and a fitting tribute to dear Burt Bacharach- RIP
Julia Roberts is stunning ❤
One of THE BEST sudden musical moment from a comedy film! Rupert Everett should AT LEAST being nominated for an Oscar, that year Robin Williams won, the other nominees are Robert Forster, Anthony Hopkins, Greg Kinnear and Burt Reynolds. He stole the scene 🤣🤣
I can watch/listen to this any time of the day or night :)
After seeing Dermot Mulroney in Scream VI , cant help but this damn song kept playing in my head when he shows up 😂
One of my favorite movie scenes of all time!! I fell in love with this movie at 11 , and now my 11 year old and I watch it. LOVE this song! Rupert was perfect and so was Julia.
Angels on your road to Paradise Burt RIP
I remember this movie..I've watched it when I'm in highschool..I've watched it alone while waiting for someone....time flies I love Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts!
Gay men have that extra charisma. Ruperts just shone through💞💞 I don't know why Michael looked so sour in that scene and at the church. He was so happy when Jules told him she was marrying George. He was marrying Kimmy. He should have been singing and joining in the fun😂😂
영화보면서 소리질렀던 장면❤❤
ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVE SCENES FROM ANY MOVIE! TY FOR POSTING THIS 🙂
Ladies and gentlemen, the incomparable Rupert Everett.
Makes me wanna see more of his films..
Dermot Mulroney is handsome 😍
Soooo handsome. I think one of my crushes looked like him because I had his image imprinted in my subconscious
Ruperts better looking and definitely more charisma💞
This is such a great film!! Definitely one for the memories!!😅😂🤣🥲😉☺️😁😘🥰😍🤩❤🎉
That scene is the soul of the movie❤
RIP Burt Bacharach who wrote this legendary ballad, and sadly has passed away February 8, 2023 at the age of 94.
Everytime I watch this movie I fall in love with it !
Great addition to this really great movie! Can you imagine having a family like this? Ha ha!!
I like the whole movie and have it on DVD but this is the scene I always return to.
The little girl in the background who just ignores it all and carries on eating is brilliant 😂
One of my favorite musical scenes, topped only by Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" in *10 Things I Hate About You.*
The best! The next best is the bathroom scene where she’s calling “kimmie”! Lolol
Hi Rhonda how are you doing
This scene gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, I see 95-97 as the peak of America, the best it was before we delved into the 'internet era', 'the 9/11 era', then the 'cellphone era' that we're stuck in now. Life was so good and watching this movie tunes me into that world. I can literally feel the apex of humanity.
What crazy times we’re living in
Such an uplifting scene! Just great!
The BEST sing along in a movie ever
Agreed! It just felt so authentic ❤️
RIP Burt Bacharach (1928 - 2023)
ICONIC SONG PIECE ✨✨✨🙏
