As a Californian, I get told often that In n Out is really overrated (which it is), but I love it because of how it is still one of the most popular burger joints in the South West with so little options on the menu. They've perfected a recipe so well that it is still constantly selling burgers, with lines around the block in some areas. It remains one of my favorite burger places, and I think Shake Shack is a close second.
