It’s a tale of aggression, consequence, and the haunting reality of a career cut short!

The most important part of his legacy is that he wasn't a quitter, he fought to get to where he wanted and made the game the way it is today. He never gave up even when he was down from the vicious attack from Bertuzzi. Unfortunate that an NHL career was cut short on such a talented player that could have put up so many great stats and achieved greatness. I will never forget this day in 2004. Steve Moore, YOU are a legend and will never be forgotten.

I always have to click on this story because it's actually just insane. I was a kid watching this on the TV live. I can't believe Bertuzzi was allowed to play again. However, I must say that most of the injuries probably took place when everyone jumped on Bertuzzi and Moore after the initial punch. Vancouver had the worst players in this era when it came to dirty plays... Cooke, Bertuzzi, torres etc.

I remember watching this too. And even as an Avs fan I hated Moore. He was the true goon out of the two. Had no business being in the game at all

Cooke and bertuzzi have to be the 2 most dirty players of all time. They ended many careers.

I was a kid and I should've talked about this to one of my friends in school. "Bertuzzi is a Nazi!" "What he should've said to Moore before killing him was 'Say hi to Hitler for me, scum!'"

What I wish should've happened on a Leafs broadcast on the night they played the Canucks in 2006 during their west coast trip was that Harry Neale should've gone in a massive tirade. "I'm disgusted that Todd Bertuzzi is back, but Steve Moore is not! Let's have a look at this tragic night. Bertuzzi was after him! He wanted a fight, but instead, assassination! He grabbed Moore's jersey, then punched him in the back of his head causing him to fall! Moore couldn't get up! He got sent to the hospital and Bertuzzi was suspended for the rest of the year! I'm disgusted by this! He should've received a lifetime ban by the NHL! If it wasn't for Steve Moore, it wouldn't have been for John Lennon if his killer escaped from arrest and ended up in hiding AFTER the murder! So, when Moore punched Markus Naslund, it was like when Lennon said he knew better than Jesus that angered Beatles fans while the game where Bertuzzi ended Moore's career was like the murder of John Lennon." That tirade should've made Joe Bowen sigh in shock.

AMAZING video. I didn't know the backstory and always thought Bertuzzi was just a goon. I didn't know that Moore decked, and thus benched, Naslund, first.

Maybe so, but it doesn't make Bertuzzi any less of a goon.
