Growing up I wanted to be one of two things: a doctor or a detective. So, I finally sat down and took an official career aptitude test from the United States Government to see which professional path I was best suited for. It was not a surprise to see that my results turned up mostly medical options, such as Acupuncturist, Nurse, and even Family Medicine Doctor! I also took a Buzzfeed quiz and those results were… less reliable. Take the tests yourself and let me know which career you landed on!

My nan did this when she got her new phone and claimed young people just have an innate ability to understand technology. Trying to set up siri was really painful, she thought she just had to say "hey siri" (and even then tried to say "hello siri") despite it saying on screen "say "hey siri, what's the weather like today" into your microphone".
One time we were assembling a table and my mom looked at the instructions (it was pictures...) and went: "I don't get it."

I took mine in like 7th grade. And I got family therapist. I was like hell nah I don't talk to people. Years later, I'm majoring in psychology wanting to be a mental health therapist
The weather be like:
There’s a 40%chance it’s raining right now
I was actually super curious one day and looked this up and 40% chance of rain doesn't actually mean 40%. The underlying meaning is the equation and how the meteorologists get to that conclusion.
Taken from NWS:
"PoP = C x A where “C” = the confidence that precipitation will occur somewhere in the forecast area, and where “A” = the percent of the area that will receive measureable precipitation, if it occurs at all. So… if the forecaster knows precipitation is sure to occur ( confidence is 100% ), he/she is expressing how much of the area will receive measurable rain. ( PoP = “C” x “A” or “1″ times “.4″ which equals .4 or 40%.)"
What may be more surprising to the public is that more commonly PoP is an expression of both confidence and area. If a forecaster is only 50% certain that precipitation will happen over 80 percent of the area, PoP (chance of rain) is 40%.
An example a meteorologist used:
"For our area, I often say there is a 20% chance of rain and that means for any given point on the map. So if you stay in one spot all day your chance of rain remains 20%. The problem is people rarely stay in one spot on the map all day. So if you travel from home to work, school, the gym, the park, the grocery story or anywhere else you will be increased your chance of seeing rain. It’s like buying more raffle tickets each one you buy increases your chances of winning. For our purposes and as an example we will use a point on the map within 10 miles. So for every 10 miles you travel you will increase your odds of seeing rain by multiplying the chance of rain at each point."

Most doctors get sued at one point or another. It's no big deal because it's usually just greed and most of the lawsuits never go anywhere
Lin W exactly. sometimes it can be malpractice or negligence but a lot of the times it’s suing in hopes they’ll get something even though the doctor didn’t do anything wrong abs patient signed paper work with clauses for what they’re suing,
if he was my teacher I would literally be sad when it was the weekend
For my junior year my 2nd period was psychology/ sociology and my 3rd period was US history. And that was the best two classes I had since elementary school. Those were the only classes I looked forward to.

Yes, but it’s about being able to understand the instructions. Surprisingly uncommon in the IT world.
I know this may seem silly but this video literally changed my life. Shortly after this video was uploaded, I took the US Department of Labor's quiz after seeing Mike take it. That spur-of-the-moment decision got me back into school-- I'll be getting my transfer degree after the summer quarter and attending an online school run by one of the major universities in my state just in time for summer. Thanks to that motivation I started working again and met someone special. We've moved in together in an entirely different city since he graduated not long after we met and got a job quickly. Today we celebrated our one year of being together.
Though I doubt he'll ever see this because it is an older video now, I just wanted to thank Dr. Mike. It may have just been a fun, fleeting moment to him but had he not inspired me to look into something more I think my life would probably still be on that depressive trajectory that it had been before. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I don't give credit completely to this silly video as I was the one who had to push through all my difficulties, but I do acknowledge that little spark that it sent through me.
If you've read all this, the career the US Government chose for me was an Art Therapist.
That's crazy. Congrats on taking that spark and turning it into something great:)

I did a similar test last week as one of my colleagues works on a program for kids that's designed towards career orientation. So she needed a test subject. Funniest thing is I landed Exactly in the area where I am focused, currently. I could have influenced my answers by a subconscious bias. But the test really put a finger on all of the things I've worked as throughout the years, and I have an extremely VAAAAAASSSST biography. I've been a bartender, a secretary, a 3D visual artist, an interior designer, a graphic designer, a fashion designer, a brand developer, a project manager in advertising, a branch executive director for a printing company, an entrepreneur with a cosmetics brand, a PR, an influencer, a relationship therapist... Now I'm at a NGO, working with refugees and people who suffer from domestic violence. Tbh, this job gives me maximum pleasure as I can directly help people in one of my particular passions: human rights, integration and specifically the group sessions with men or women (separately), where we play interactive games and discuss gender equality and violence prevention. The test also said I could be a farmer, which I haven't tried, but I grow beans and tomatoes on my balcony, so they were spot on it too 🤣 Truth is, everyone can be anything they want to be, and there's absolutely no limit to the possibilities. God knows what I'll be in another 10-15 years.

Living a healthy lifestyle is important but also speaking with your doctor about the best screening tests for you is crucial as well. Family history for both cancers you mentioned affects how often and when you should begin screening.
Cancer also runs in my family to, my mother breast cancer and grandfather died from lungs cancer 7 year's ago 😐

Yeah, including the fact that he has worked his career. I watched him years ago, now I feel betrayed.
- IReyI - right. I looked up to him as a future doctor and potentially a future DO. I’m disappointed. I don’t think anything he says will allow me to see him as a role model. I could understand traveling and being with a small group and social distancing, but this is wild. I work on the frontline in an ED, so I feel so much resentment to the people who are comfortable just being out and potentially spreading this dangerous illness.
Edit: not to mention I haven’t seen my family since July due to my occupation and have no idea when I will again.

Everybody in this world makes mistakes doctor Mike, but if the articles are true about this. Please address it, take responsibility for it and own up to it, because people will have much more respect for you. Mistakes also just shows that you are human, all these people in the comments have probably done way worse hypocritical things, yet they are the first one to call out you're hypocrisy. Which isn't fair, but is the inevitable fate of a public figure.

The school counselor made all of the kids take this exact test and it sucked. we even had to do slideshows about it.
