Non-Tesla (Kia EV6) driver reviews a Tesla Model 3: I'm glad I got the EV6

- The Model 3 is one of the most popular cars on the road, and likely one of the best selling EVs. So why would you buy anything else? I finally decided to get behind the wheel of a 2022 Tesla Model 3 LR, and wanted to share my thoughts.
In total? Not the car for me, but I understand why people do get it. Comment below with your thoughts. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
We’ve had an EV6 for a week and I genuinely love the car with the exception of the software.
Teslas map integration is great, as well as calculation for determining charging locations. KIA really phoned that in.
I love having the screen in front of the driver, but the majority of it is taken up by those two meaningless bars that show nothing. Most of the useful data is in a small strip at the bottom of the screen.
Love our EV6 but those few gripes just get me the more time is spend behind the wheel
I have never driven a Tesla, but I feel the same way as you about all the controls going through the center screen. I like a more traditional car cockpit. I absolutely love my EV6!
Pretty much my thoughts exactly. i drove a Model 3 for a few days and i HATED the seats. After 6 hours in it my left leg was numb and my hips were on fire. IDK who those seats are for, but its not me LOL(I'm not a huge guy. 5'7" 200lbs). Comparatively i find my EV6 to be one of those most comfortable cars I've ever driven. Its also WORLDs quieter and smoother on the road.
for me, just like apple, tesla wants you to drive the way they want. basically it is a macbook on wheels. I agree with you in not having a front cluster with the essential info and dunno how distracting will be in adjusting your air vents while driving
Teslas have always felt like they've distilled all the negative aspects of Apple's ethos: Minimalism to the point of interfering with basic functionality. The whole "We know better than you so we'll force our questionable form-over-function design choices on you.". The "walled garden" / closed ecosystem to create artificial exclusivity. Forcing the same basic design rules onto every product, even if they don't necessarily work well that way. Trademarking and advertising the crap out of re-branded standard features (see "Supercharging" at 100-150kw dcfc). Massive adoption and conformity to the point of becoming "white goods".
That said, I'm probably not their target market either - loving my Runway Red EV6 GT-Line :)
I've also always compares Tesla to apple. But what they're doing seems to be working very well so I guess I'm the chump! Ha ha! Either way, I commend both companies for leading the charge in their respective industries and paving the way for competition to come in and do certain things better, however reliant the future of EVs may be on Tesla's network.
I agree with you. I'm just not their target market. I like things about their cars. They're just not for me. This drive proves it.
@@Emadifications Absolutely, there's no denying that both are extremely successful companies. And I'm interested to see how the transition to NACS will play out; I'm anticipating some (more) friction at the charging stations. The reliability will be welcome though.
The biggest reason I got my EV6 over a Tesla is actually something you didn’t even mention: reliability. Teslas are notoriously unreliable with incredibly long lead times for even the simplest repairs. The EV6 may not be perfect reliability wise but at least Kia actually has a customer service department when things go wrong.
That's a good point. This video was made solely on driving and interior impressions. I def agree with what you're saying based on what I've heard.
You pretty much echoed my thoughts - I didn't want a vanilla exterior, spartan interior, and a center console iPad. I have all kinds of respect for Nissan and Tesla starting us out in the early 2010's, but they"re not for me. With the move towards standardization, and the '7 maker joint venture charging system" on the horizon, I don't expect the infrastructure advantage to live much longer. The Tesla fanbois are welcome to their product - I just wish that they would not try to small-dick dominate every conversation. Every e-sale is a win for electric.
you literally released a model 3 review video on the day Tesla released a refresh of the same model haha
Ha yeah I saw that. Def didn't plan that! Doesn't look too different. Although the dampening will be nice.
I was going to comment the same thing. I like the refresh, but I wish Tesla would offer a HUD. I don't like everything done thru the screen.
Your EV6 IS MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN TESLA
U SAID IT THE EV6 HAS SO MUCH CHARACTER!!!
JUST BY EVEN JUST LOOKING AT IT NOT EVEN DRIVING IT... TESLA WAS MADE BRILLIANTLY IN BULK GOOD ALL ROUNDER BUT COLD 🥶 TO LOOK AT 😂 ALL TESLAS MY OPINION IS BORING ONLY WORD I CAN DESCRIBE IT ..
ME I PREFER LOOKS THAN SPEED ..
EV6 BEAUTIFUL WELL DONE KIA 👏 ✔️ 👍 👌 🙌 😀
I hate my EV6. So traditional. Just engine swapped to electric motor. But cost 20k more than gas equivalent and yet you get poor man's car dealer services and treatment. Most Kia dealerships are outdated in my area. Car vibrates over 70 mph. 12v battery died in 1 year, took to 4 dealerships, 3 hours waiting and can't even figured out what's wrong with it. Phone app control sucks. So regretted that I got this peice of junk. Last kia for me. Tesla in other hand are to futuristic, phone app is best, lots of features are never senn before in any legacy cars. Only thing bad about Tesla is their car price is so unpredictable. Why can't they just steady increase the car price like legacy auto maker once a year. My teslas losts so much values. I will just keeo on driving my teslas. 😢
Yeah sounds like your EV6 experience sucked. So if Tesla is working for you, stick to it. Wish you the best.
