Haha. I got him too. But I'm putting him to good use since it's such a waste not to. Even if he made me lose the 50/50.
I like using his Skill quite a bit. Either to buy time so I can break with something else, or to freeze just before enemy turn resets their shield. The freeze prevents that and keeps them down for longer. It also gives quite a bit of energy.
And having Silver Wolf adds additional chance to freeze both with added weakness at E0 and reduced effect resist with E2.
Don't have E1 Gepard yet or any Speed Boots. But I do use Energy Rope. The speed boots aren't needed. You get hit, you can get 100% energy and often can recast the shields long before your team needs them.
The thing you need to keep an eye on is whether or not you are using it too early. Wait until enemy is about to go, and isn't just going to wake, and watch your team bars to know if they still all have shields or not.
It's ok for Gepard to take some damage unshielded. He has high DEF and HP. He's not going to die when unshielded. You can save your Ult at times for your team.
Absolutely not full clearer but I've 3 starred up to moc5, Gepard surprisingly got a really good uptime with his technique + ER rope i thought it would play a lot more sweaty but nope. I like to pair him with March that is way better/can focus at freezing and give him more taunt or grant a panic shield to an unfortunate soul, that way countering the counter synergy he got with Seele/Bronya. Also at e6 she can even fix the no healing factor but you can miss out too much damage by pairing them and i haven't built other characters enough to get out these comps to push further

I tried to build gippard early on in the 30s and 40s and he never stood out to me, but my friend who at the time was playing the game. A lot more talked about how crazy it was and I never saw it

I was confused why there was so few videos on this guy. Geppie is literally the most useful character for ALL content. Gepard > All healers.
A lot of content creators were underestimating his kit early on because they still had Genshin brain and were unsure how useful a shielder is. Meanwhile, turn-based veterans were frothing at the mouth when presented with the idea of a team-wide shield that's bulky AF

I’m F2p and I have E2 Gerard and his Light cone……so you know what…..I’m gonna use him….even though abandoned him but….it’ll be a waste……It’s kinda sad I’m only building him run so I can kill that fucking annoying gorilla, shields repel it’s ult and he’s the only mass shielder I have….

I was disappointed when getting him from beginner banner as I wanted Bronya/Welt but he's been hard carrying my team eversince. My DPS could change depending on enemies' weakness but he's been a constant in my team. I feel so safe in his arms/shield.

Same, not only did I get him from the beginner banner, but I also got Moment of Victory as my second 5* from the permanent banner (I wanted Clara, Bronya, Bailu, or Welt. So pretty much any character but him.) Now, I can't not have a team with him because he just tanks everything

Gepard was always going to be top tier anyone who doubted him never played a turn based game lol. He is also best boy ❤
Rule of thumb of Turn-based games: Always have a Tank and a way to mitigate/heal damage. No exceptions. That's why I always bring one in every game I play.
@@PureLunarind a healer. but with a character like Gepard you don't need a healer sometimes. like i feel like some people probably have games like genshin in mind. where it's more of damage check. but when it comes to Turn based games survivability honestly matters more so than dmg and also i might say that speed is everything but maybe that's due to me playing turn based games where even 1 point of speed matters.

@@syminreed3922genshin gameplay is like mmorpg except singleplayer but u get the point. Survivability isnt needed much there since you can just i-frame with dashes and burst skills. In spiral abyss (genshin's endgame content) all the enemies in the last floor are bullet sponges so damage is way more impactful than survival. Yes a healer is needed but if said healer cant bring their own form of dmg/ buff they arent that worth building.

Never forget all those re-roll guides practically calling Gepard and Bailu the most useless ones. 😂😂😂 Also Shielders will get even more value seeing as future bosses have new mechanics that mess up with your HP bar. 👀

Especially right now in the very high level, survivability is now the 1st. Priority then DPS is the 2nd.

Because the whole aggro System is fake af. I have E1 Gepard with even his Signature Lightcone and his taunt often miss
I never really experience this issue with my Gepard. Yes, I do have his signature LC. Tingyun did get hit from time-to-time but it's usually Gepard who takes it up his fine hind.

@@GethWishreally? March's taunt up shield with counterattack and aoe freeze makes her quite a neat offensive defender. She also has great synergy with Clara.
And she's full of energy and very emotive! And - spoilers ahead - is the only one to rationally respond to having to lie to the citizens of belobog about Cocolia. That and intriguing lore. What's not to love?
and of course I can't leave Gepard out of this. People say he's simple and boring. Simple true, but simple and amazing! And maybe a bit boring as a basic guard, but he's got a lot of charm and cuteness. He's got a knack for his inability to sing, and is a very -bad- vivid painter.

Gepard was the first starter 5* in the game that I wanted, when I pulled him, I couldn't contain my joy, he's genuinely carried my runs more time than I can count on my hands! Geppie with Perservation path in Simulated, makes Simulated feel like a breeze! I was always wondering if going full Def Knight set with an ER rope was enough? I'm so happy you made this video, I can now focus on the stats I need to finish building him right, CHEERS!!!! Love all your guides, always watch 'em!

One thing to share is that Sushang might be the worst character to pair with Gepard (shielders in general) due to her turn forwarding mechanics

I picked Gepard instead of Bronya as my free 5 star in the 300 pull banner, no regrets. The shield uptime is 100% as I also use SPD boots and ER on my rope. The fact that he takes the hits fills up my energy bar more faster. I use Jing Yuan, Yanqing, Tingyun with him and it is just fun. No healer needed.

@@miscellaneous7777 I am a light spender but only for the sole purpose of getting Jing Yuan and his LC (he is my fave). The leftover gems from the 6480 jades (with the 6480 bonus) and from the events/quests is what I used in the 300 standard pulls. I got Himeko, Welt's 5 star LC in the 300 pulls.
@@miscellaneous7777 Also, Jing Yuan and his LC were my only pulls. I skipped Seele (I regret that), and Silverwolf. I will skip Luocha and Kafka as well. Now, I am saving for Blade and Jing Liu. Hoping that I do not spend money anymore coz MilkMeHoyo will be very pleased.

I use vonwacq for the extra energy over 15% def from belobog, the set also lets gepard got faster at the start of the battle so he can get some energy to shield before enemies start attacking. I also use skill quite often (my team is not skill point reliant) allowing my shield up time go through the roof, this is great for me to clear things im clearly under levelled for because i can quickly reapply any damaged shields when enemies somehow hit my tingyun 3 times in a row even with landau’s choice equipped.

For the planar set, I used modeling resin on an ERR rope in the Vonwacq set for extra ERR to better guarantee Ultimate uptime.

got to this video late, but it's very informative, thank you!
i got him as my first 5★ char, but with difficulty of maintaining shield uptime as mentioned in 7:38 , he didn't get built properly because 1) early game-me found that mechanic to be bothersome ("i need shields right away, march is more reliable in that aspect"), 2) most of the time i will go for fire mc instead for ease of use, and 3) farming for relics is a nightmare, as early game-me has no clue on which stats are best used for him
though because i'm in the late game stage now, i decided that i will pick up on perfecting his build, after i finished with kafka

I always use skill over attack if I'm close to full energy and one skill is enough to fill up but one attack is not. That would require one more turn before you can ult again which is usually game over.

I just pulled Gepard on my 3rd black swan attempt last night as a new player...So now I gotta figure out how to understand any of this stuff to build him as I absolutely love his ultimate shielding the entire team...it’s literally came in clutch. Lol
I like that his eidolons aren't OP doesn't feel like I need to E6 him and his light cone is easy to get

Hi Guoba! Off-topic question, do you might know how much speed does Bronya need in order to pull off 1 basic atk for the adv forward, then use her skill to the main dps before the enemy's turn?
I think I heard someone mention that if Bronya has high/enough speed, she could do 2 turns (1 basic atk then skill) before the enemy's turn.

My first standart banner 5 star character. He allowed me to go from struggling in Simulated universe to being able to complete it brain dead.
He was my first 5 Star and has been a godsend.
And for 3:33, I can confirm that Unyielding Will being triggered does NOT count toward an ally being down. It will NOT lose you that star
Edit: same goes for Bailu’s revive. It does NOT count

Yes this happened to me yesterday in MoC 5. Got greedy in the first fight and didn't want to use Gepards ult right at the end and paid the price, but not really since I got to keep the star, the energy and the passive lol (resets between fights).

The double planar event gave me a bunch of things that are blessed and cursed as the same time. It gave me Belolog's ERR rope and Ice DMG sphere (DEF% as main sub-stat). I wasn't happy at first because I need DEF sphere for my E1 Gepard, but then he carried my no-healer team until Chaos stage 9. He let no one die, my Bronya gave him more turns than the DPS-s meanwhile my Natasha - Fire Trailblazer team struggled

Nice Video man. Does the vonwaq set affect his rotation/shield uptime at all (maybe needs to tank 1 less hit or 1 less auto)? I don't have a good speed boot for him yet so running +6 spd boot but have been told vonwaq with energy regen is best. I also felt that the set compensated a bit for lower speed.

I just got Gepard yesterday on standard banner, thanks for the amazing and comprehensive guide! Also for mono Ice I dont have Yanqing, but I have Seele and SW. Would rotations or shielded turns be altered taking Seele's resurgence extra turns, and Quantum or freeze enemy delay into account? Thanks in advance!
I dont believe her extra turns get rid of the shields, its just her big speed will be hard for Gepard.
Hello, a quick question: do you recommend S5 amber? It gives a lot of defense that other 4 star option don’t have, but maybe I’m wrong.
Landau seems to give little defense, I wanted to prioritize a thicker shield
Landau is more important than a slightly bigger shield from amber
I'm a bit confused, you mentioned def%/spd%/def%/err as the main stats. But how would you recommend I hit the EHR requirement for belobog? EHR mainstat or just fish for a ton of EHR subs? I have the MoV lightcone
EHR subs yis, but EHR chest works too I just didnt want to add a whole sub part for specifically EHR needs at e1
Well, I did build him full Def, and I want to mention one thing you are missing. With his signature, his aggro is much higher, so he generates energy just enough for the ult uptime. My gepard gives my team a 3700 shield for 3 turns, wich can't be broken, and it has 100 uptime due to enemy's attacking him. However, that doesn't synergies well with turn skipping mechanics of seele or bronya, and they can get splash hits sometimes, though it's not much of a problem cause the damage is not that big, due to positioning some damage can be dodged and the shield will come back soon anyway.

Great video again! But I was wondering about this part at 5:27, how does his E1 change the EHR needed to freeze from 157% to 67% if the increase is only 35%?
Chance * (1- enemy eff res) * (1+EHR)
.65 * 0.6 * 2.57 = 100% chance
+ 35% chance
1 * 0.6 * 1.67 = 100% chance
Another way to run him regarding his planar ornament would be the Ageless Fleet set with def sphere and def rope. My take on this is that Gepard while being a tank can also provide an atk buff for the whole team. Additionally since mine has the lightcone „Landau‘s Choice“ he will almost always be attacked and therefore gain enough energy. The total bonus def in this case would sit around 110%, substats not included.
Otherwise i completely agree with the 4-piece set, since for the atk buff on the ornaments Gepard would need at least 120 Speed in total anyways.
Any set still wants ERR rope, not an option unless you want your team dying , even with landau

His ultimate is OP normally your team wont even take life damage but problem is the shields expire fast members like Seele or Dan Heng normally end up without shield because of that so yeah good reason to go for energy and he is mostly that you use skill to freeze and ultimate to shield what the amount of shield is normally ignoreable because it will expire before the enemy can break it
His talent is semi useless because if he died the rest of your team is probably already dead the only fights i lost were like that Gepard one on one with a boss on simu and losing because of the boss berserking
Relics without a doubt the best one is Guard of Wuthering Snow because A this is a free % damage reduction and if you are below 50% hp you get a free heal and free energy(which returns to the ultimate spam) with the Belobog planar because of EHR and i would say Vonwacq if the turn advance by 40% is a constant(which would be ideal) or only once(in this case forget it)
Ideal Main and Sub stat gain i would say Defense > Energy Regeneration/Effect Resistance > Spd > EHR
Why:
Defense is self explanatory but after 4000 defense not much of a point to go even further beyond nothing will kill him
Energy is exactly to spam ultimate and save team members and he regens most of energy by being hit
Effect Resistance it is devastating to Gepard to get frozen or paralyzed, dominated or whatever not being able to cast the ultimate will cripple you
Speed i agree he is a damn turtle but alas he going or not doesnt matter
EHR he will freeze most of the time even on base chance except when you find something that is immune to it like Cocolia in SiMu 6

I was lucky enough to get him and Yanqing from standard and they're killing it. My problem is I have a great ice team but pretty much nothing for the second team for MOC. I hope Kafka can carry my second half.

I have a very similar situation and plan but I have a question regarding the second team. If I’m running ice team (geppie sw pela yanqing) and want to pull and run Kafka. Is it ok to run Kafka without a defense shredder? I love sampo and was just gonna run Kafka sampo Luka and hopefully luocha heals. Sampo Luka and Kafka all have some sort of dot buffing if I remember but I hope it won’t be bad missing out on pela or sw shredding
I put Speed Boots and ERR Rope on Gepard and now my team has basically 100% uptime on shield

I was curious but do you think running the new planar ornament set (the effect res not rutilant arena) would be good for him? his shields would be weaker but does the possibility of higher effect res and also team wide crit dmg buff outweigh that?

freeze works a little weird, I have both gepard and yanqing, say I freeze with gepards skill and then I also apply freeze to the frozen enemy with yanqing's follow up attack, the enemy will take damage for both freezes, this doesn't have any other effect, the freeze will be removed as it normally would just that it takes damage for both freezes from gepard and yanqing. so I wonder if gepard E2 would still work if we froze an already frozen enemy.

Do you think Seele is suboptimal with Gepard? I have both and it feels pretty bad against bosses, with how many turns Seele gets, the shields run out before the enemies hit me

What do you mean by Party uptine with the shield? When you use the Ulty all the party gets the shield right?
Yes but if the party is too fast compared to gepard they lose on shield uptime
Dumb question but does teammate's path affect Geppard's agro chances? Thinking of putting him in my Dan Heng IL team for MoC and IL is a destruction unit so that might screw up Gerpard taunt value
Barely, he has innate aggro which makes the difference irrelevant

I lost my 50/50 on the kafka banner and got Gepard, but kept going and got her. Now as I'm finishing up my Kafka team (working on Luka now) I'm realizing Natasha isn't cutting it and realized Gepard would be great, so this video was very helpful

Its technically efficient to do so until EHR subs, so you can but it means weaker shields unless you got tons of def subs

My Gepard actually build Speed and Echarge just Like Tingyun does. My rule of thumb is unless your character do counter attack like Clara theres no reason for not having extra speed
Gepard with SPD makes so much SP for my Yanqing, it's a real game changer. I got my first ER Rope the other day and it's really good
@@edisonsmathsclub5787 since its Turn Base game its Natural for having Speed as priority. Since your turn become earlier. In long battle your Speed naturaly give you advantage in term of Skill Point, Energy and better CC chance(If we assume enemy doesnt have Freeze resistsmce)
