      Stop saying vectoring. It's in the flap that's in front of the wing. Otherwise it would stall. Rockets are the ones who need vectoring, because they can't stall.

    • @pixelnazgul

      Achieving maenuvering with vectoring using the same force as a tail is never the same. Which is why such a thing was never made.

    • @pixelnazgul
      @pixelnazgul Před 4 měsíci

      The raptor tail moves more degrees than any other plane, it's in the tail angle and regime of movement (each second in turn), and style of piloting. Which influences the wing and fuselage shape.

      In things like this, no. Youre still restricted by the physical laws of aeronautics. Are more advanced ideas being worked on? Always. However while they push a certain technology there are constraints that limit its practical applications. For instance NASA has been working on hyperspeed craft for decades and tested prototypes but still wont field a production model for quite some time.
      Note the SR-71/A-12 program hit the speed wall almost 60 years ago because an air breathing jet engine just doesnt work above mach 3.5 or so.

      @@dirtydan9941 conversely you dont know what fantasy technologies the government does have. All I was saying is that laws of physics will always apply and airplanes doing much more than the f22 arent feasible with these limits as science knows them.

    • @batvette
      @batvette Před 2 lety

      @@dirtydan9941 look at what the OP said. Are they, or you, asserting that "the government" has manufactured squadrons of fighter jets far more advanced than the F-22 and is hiding them from us? Why would they do that? What capabilities do they have? How did they procure and hide the budget to do this when the F-22 project was so costly they had to scale back production and purchase a fraction of the original number? One does not need to know what the government has because it hardly matters. Private industry outpaces government in technology, and will market anything they can to make a buck.
      Interestingly enough the computing power of all the systems of the F-22 combined are far less powerful than that of the first smartphones available to the public less than a decade ago.
      Conspiracy theorists like to promote beliefs about so called black projects like "Aurora", etc, and project that to allegedly confirm all kinds of wild fairy tales about what "the government" can do. However its no secret the air force, DARPA, NASA, etc, have been testing hypersonic technologies for decades. Unmanned, prototype craft that if deployed with any practical capabilities would be easy to confirm and they wouldnt even want to keep secret.
      If youre worried about government and technology consider that a decade ago hundreds of backscatter xray vans were purchased and are in the hands of federal and local agencies and while purportedly intended to scan cars for terrorist threats, can also be parked 30 feet in front of a residence and so accurately track your movements that they can count the change in your pants pocket as you walk across the room.
      However there is nothing particularly secret about this for those paying attention, the manufacturer advertised and displayed these capabilities on their website. And yet there are limitations due to laws of physics that cannot be broken. Lead sheets will always block the imaging.

      In a fight the pilot uses a "O" to center its bogey and the EO-IRST module locks the target the pilot is looking up at. The ET is capable of turning a solid 45 degrees straight off the rail heading to its target. First introduced mid 90s.
