  • Leiden is one the prettiest towns in the Netherlands and only 30 minutes from Amsterdam by train. It makes a perfect trip to explore the historic city. Our local friends offered to show us around what they referred to as a mini Amsterdam. We were doubtful it was really like a mini Amsterdam but were surprised with the cute house and quaint houses (with less crowds). Our friends showed us around the local market where we sampled delicious snacks, one of the last windmills in the city, unique churches, local shopping, and their favorite French bakery. The last stop of the day was a gigantic home goods store filled with Christmas decorations. You'll love Leiden!

It's so pretty! I don't know if it's the music or cinematography, or both, but this just felt so relaxing. I would love to visit the market!

Leiden is very beautiful. I think a lot of people prefer leiden above amsterdam, because it is less crowded.

That’s true! Less crowds is always a good thing especially in beautiful destinations like Leiden. 😊

It does look like a mini Amsterdam. What was the best thing you got at the market?
