  • The 2023 Skoda Enyaq SUV EV can nearly do it all. Practicality, space, efficiency. It's the choice of international cycling teams for a reason!
    Here's my impartial review.
I'm really sorry it's been a while - the end of the summer was a busy time for me and these CZcams EV reviews are completely solo from start to finish. They take a lot of time. So if this has been helpful, please give the video a like.
Thanks to Motor Mall, Isle of Man for the loan Enyaq!
Thank you for being here and checking out my video!

If you get obd11 you can turn the lane keeping off. Also tomorrow (31/10/23) the 24my changes increase battery to 85 from 80 with an increase in miles plus many other changes

Just Press Down the break pedal. No need to use the start button 😂

Starting you don’t have to press the start button. Just press the brake and select drive. Turning off just pull the handbrake on or open the door.

Agree about the regen - I put mine in B and leave it there. Anything you can do in D, you can do with the throttle pedal position. Also if you need to make an emergency stop, the instant you lift your foot you're already slowing significantly some time before your foot is hard on the brake pedal- this must reduce the stopping distance. The thing I'd change is the bl**dy lane assist, however I'd be a bit uncertain about changing the setting with OBD11 - the car records certain settings and if in the event of an accident if it was found that you'd changed the set up from that Type Approved, you might have insurance issues.

I really like the way that Skoda think about the occupants when designing their cars.

Have to disagree about the lane keeping assist - I've owned an enyaq 80x for two months now and I still haven't turned it off - which is an absolute miracle as I generally hate it and I actually consider them dangerous in most cars (particularly on country roads). I find the Enyaq's version quite gentle in most situations. Yes, it occasionally doesn't quite know what to do (as all of them do), but it's not as aggressive as most other cars I've driven in the last 10 years or so - the heads up gives me a very nice visual indication of when it activates as well (which might be a part of the reason that I haven't turned it off - as I can see immediately when it's trying to correct the steering, rather than just feeling it)

I also shut lane keep assist off every time i start driving but just because we have snow here and those road paintings is partially buried. You can also put that icon lower part of infotainment in favorite section so you can 2 tap to take it off.

Strange doing a review of a model that was phased out during the time of your video?
Its now an 85 with more power, range and faster charging.

It's a shame that Motor Mall are dealers for almost everything, because their service is so poor :-( Skoda Enyaq is very high on my list for an EV in February/March of next year, but I'm not sure that the boot is big enough for a wheelchair hoist, and despite being in the showroom for ten minutes, including with my wife in the rear, with a tape measure, we were studiously ignored. I left, not overly happy at the lack of service. Another potential is a Hyundai, which is back to Motor Mall, but once again, zero service from anyone. One guy actually made a huge loop around me, so we couldn't even interrupt him!
After they damaged my wife's car during a routine service, I was reluctant to use them anyway, but with them hoovering up so many brands (the ID Buzz is my third option, so Motor Mall again 😞) I'll just buy off Island again. Skoda dealer in Morecambe (where I bought my last two Skodas) are excellent.
    Good review though!

Hello Keith 👋, that doesn't sound good - it might be worth contacting them directly if you haven't already as they might want to hear about your experience and you can probably even drive the same Skoda from this video!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊

The Enyaq boot is big and it has a box shape. So, if any car can fit it, this should be the one.

I found these measurements online. I hope these help:
      Width between arches 100
Depth to top of back seats 70
Depth to bottom of back seats 96
      Depth seats folded 183
      Height of door opening 73
      Height to load cover 57

Thank you@@Luusiic. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is nudging ahead at the moment, it is a vital couple of inches wider.
I've been back to Motor Mall, begrudgingly! But this time, I was met by John, who couldn't have been more helpful, and while I still have reservations about them, he, and the two other blokes who were there at the time, have done some bridge-building! He lifted the wheelchair & Batec in to the Skoda & Ioniq. With the Skoda, the chair & Batec went in, just, but the Hyundai they went in with room to spare.

What is the fascination with one pedal driving so many EV drivers talk about? Just don't get how tthe car graking is more controlled than the driver.

4WD is NOT for performance (only)! Living in a land like Sweden we have something called snow and ice... If you have been stuck even ONCE in snow or been gliding down a slope the wrong way because the rear wheels are just not getting enough grip... Then you know what I'm talking about. I'm really tired of all those promoting 2WD and preferably RWD. They don't know the pain of getting stuck or gliding into a neighbours bushes sideways 😉

Sorry but have to disagree with your view on WLTP figures, they are the next 'diesel scandal'. In real world conditions some cars get close, many get nowhere near. Bizarrely I found the id4 bad, the enyaq good and the new Kona brilliant on same route. WLTP is useless for comparison whilst so many cars vary in the percentage they achieve of that figure.

    • @DivingDeveloper
      @DivingDeveloper  Před 6 měsíci +2

That’s okay to disagree. Thanks for your comment, Mark. I agree, WLTP figures are optimistic and for some models downright inflated and well overdue an overhaul. It’s not as bad as dieselgate - it would be hard to test for the test conditions. But… it’s a standardised test so useful to compare between the Enyaq models versus the ID models etc. They’ve all gone through the same test specification. -Mike
