Not always, my great nephew on my husband's side has made straight A's all through school, he has had perfect attendance since kindergarten and he's a senior. He is being raised by his great grandparent's because mom and grandma care more about themselves. He pretty much did it all on his own. Yes, he has food and a place to live and clothing, but the great grandparent's couldn't help with his homework and the attendance he gets up on his own. So you can have shitty parents and do better for yourself.
John is still doing it. He graduated with a Masters of Science in Law and a is becoming an MD this year looks like. He’s on linkedin. Salute!!
