Thank you so much! I definitely didn’t make all these in one sitting
So many options and so inspiring. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Ring binder, scrapbook rings, gift bags, reusable shopping bags, a chunk of quilting, chenilling your own fabric, jeans including the bum pockets, flat clutch bags, tyvek, dvd case, weaving paper or fabrics, faux leather, brown paper torn pieces layered over and over, placemats, laminated cover, oilcloth, thicker foam, greeting cards, photo album, cheap flimsy cutting boards, old wallet, polymer clay, shrink plastic, yoga matting, raffia woven beach mats, wallpaper, cork, lino, bubble envelopes, carrier bags melted together (ironed under paper!), Zip-round display pencil case, cheap tablet covers, box-of-chocolates box or the corrugated wax paper they pad the top of the chocolates layer with, thin cake boards, acrylic painting flat canvas boards, silicone baking sheets, polyester wadding (batting), cushion covers, menu or wine list covers (when no one's looking 🙄 lol) ... And can't think of any others right now....

Excellent options for making journal covers and using what we have on hand probably. Thank you!
Thank you so much
What a wonderful variety of journal covers! They are all beautiful. That's one thing fun about making journals, the myriad ways of making covers.
It's been fun making them in all different styles. Stops me from getting bored - hehe. I've filled 8 of them so far - yay!
Wow!!! What an amazing video!!!! I have been collecting supplies but haven't made an actual journal yet. This is the absolute best video I could have seen to inspire me and get me going! Thank you so much for making this. I am so excited to see your upcoming videos on all the styles mentioned☺
Aww thank you so much! Cheering you on to make your first journal - yay! Looking forward to filming those videos too and hope they're helpful.
I have made several journals and I make multiple at a time.
Yay so fun

I’m sure it wasn’t easy to film standing on top of a suitcase! Thank you.
Aww so glad. Hehe, thank you so much
I love this videio. So simple and so many good ideas. I love that you don't rave on about unrelated stuff. Thanks for the ideas. from Brisbane Australia x

Fabulous ideas. Thanks so much for this!
You are most welcome
This was GREAT! I'm so inspired to go make one!
Thank you for your generosity darlin!
Oh yay, that’s so great. Have fun making
The never ending story is a great movie. Also I'm glad your videos have closed captioning I just went completely deaf in my right ear so that helps a lot. Something I never had to think about before when watching CZcams. Some of the words get mixed up but all in all its pretty good. Thanks again for a great video.
Oh wow, had no idea about the captioning but that's great. Let me know what tutorial you'd like to see if you want. I've got a list running for these journal covers and will add you to the list if one hasn't already been mentioned
Great thank-you I'll keep having a look at the ones you've done and if I can't find one I'll ask. Thanks again! :-)
Awesome, sounds great
I absolutely loved this video! I am going to make up some covers now that you have shown us it's not so difficult! I have tons of fabric and scrapbook paper so I need to dive in 🥰 thank you so much
Aww so glad you liked it. Hope you have lots of fun making covers and journals.
Love all of these.
Thank you so much
Amazing collection! TYSM for sharing! ❤
I'm currently using an Avery Labels package (thin cardboard) to make a gift journal, and I'm loving it. (If you enjoy new materials for journals).
It has a flap that folds onto itself creating that perfect envelope for a wrap around cord or button closure.
I'm doing a paper bag faux leather which will look great on this old fashioned fold over journal.
I usually use frozen food boxes or cracker boxes bc of the built-in spine lol. So cool to see you figured out the same hack! Lol 🙂
You are most welcome. Sounds great!
Great ideas, thank you. 🌸
Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this! And I am so glad that after a year it still exists. As a beginner, this cleared up a bit of confusion on my part lol. Glad I found you! 😎😍🌸😁💥
Aww so glad it was helpful! Happy creating
I love all the journals as well , I would like to see the Little Golden Book tutorial , and the one where you use a regular book. But they are all wonderful😁
Aww thank you so much. Awesome, will definitely do a tutorial/make a journal with me for both of those. So excited!
Awesome! I needed to see this. These covers are beautiful! You are so encouraging. I want to try a quilted cover b/c I have so much fabric. Thank you for sharing ideas and talent. 🤗
Thank you so much. You are most welcome
Thank you. This is very helpful ❤️
Yay, so glad yo hear that. Happy journal making!
here is another journal idea for you Juni, and it is a no brainer,
and for those like myself don't sew. get a 3 ring binder any size
and fill it up as you go along. I thought that would be wonderful.
haven't tried it but i just thought of it as i was watching your video. :)
Oh yes I’ve done that too but not for junk journaling in the past. So fun!
This was a great video -thanks so much!!!!
Thank you so much
So much fun!
Agreed - hehe!
Thanks for this JD. I've tried a few types of covers now, including paper bags, envelopes, gift bags & cereal box covers. I also made a little ring bound one using journal cards, which was fun to do. I want to do a LGB one but feel I need to see a few more tutorials to be sure. I would hate to ruin the books. Thanks so much. Xx
No worries at all Gio. Oh, forgot to mention the ring bound cover. That was my very first journal type I made but haven't made one since. Oh the LGB ones are so fun. Definitely cheering you on to make of those. Maybe practice with a ruined book already and it may take the pressure off - hehe.
I love all the idea. I can't wait to see your other videos. I sometimes use a placemat as a journal cover if its thick enough. Very clever ideas here. Thanks! I have subscribed.
Aww thank you so much! That's a clever idea, for sure. Big hugs and happy journaling
I would love to do an envelope journal with you! Something that would be easy to create as gifts for others!
As a patron your wish is my command - hehe. Another patron got in first but the envelope journal will be the second one we do together - yay!!
Envelope journal next! I’ll follow along. 😁💜
Awesome, it's on the list and looking forward to it
Love all the ways you have made covers. They are all inspiring. Next series will be fun whichever you decide. I’ve seen a few on envelopes and would like to see how you do it. Hugs! 🦋🤗
Thanks so much Pam. Will definitely do an envelope video series - yay!
Love this video! I'm debating what cover to do for my next journal. Appreciate your inspiration 💛.
Thank you so much! Oh awesome, let me know what you decide to go with. Cheering you on!!!
Loved the paper bag "make a journal with me" videos. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I made 2 as gifts whilst following the series. I would love to try a fabric covered journal next. Don't mind if it's fabric over cardboard, a book, or any other base. And I'd also love a "make an Ephemera folder with me" series too.
Cheers!
Yay, that's so cool. Since you're a patron, you get priority so we'll do a fabric cover journal together next. I'll look at my supplies, get something ready, and will look forward to filming the series. Ooh, didn't think of that. I'll add the ephemera folder to the list and, again, since you're a patron, your wish is my command.
@@JuniDesiree there's that "Red carpet treatment" again...love it!
Great ideas and journals 👍🏻
Thank you so much
Great video & ideas! :) They are all lovely! Tyfs!
Thanks so much Sheila!
Thank you for sharing this information.
I also should have said, I think the idea of making them together.
No worries at all.
Spiral journal would be nice to see how that is done
Ooh, I'll add it to the list.
This video answers one of my questions from your giveaway! Thank-you
Hehe, so fun!
😃
Many thanks
Great video. Saving it for future guide when i make one :)
Thanks so much! Awesome, glad to hear. Cheering you on to make that first journal
This was so educational. I’m intrigued with the magazine cover for one. How many pages do you fit in one?
Aww so glad to hear. I usually include around 20 pages, which folds in half to give 40, which is 80 pages front and back
Love the Video! THANK YOU! How do you attach the pages then on the envelopes etc.?? Are you hand sewing the spine? because the books would be harder to sew. ;)
Thank you so much! I use the three hole pamphlet stitch to bind pages to the cover, no matter what type of cover it is. I use an awl to poke through the spine. This shows the process and hope it helps: czcams.com/video/0CvvXrySuTc/video.html&ab_channel=JuniDesiree%60
What a great video =D Loved it =D Thank you for sharing =D
Aww thanks heaps Corina.
You are more then welcome Juni xx
Virtually all of your bindings appear to be sewn but only a few have thread showing on the outside of the binding. How do you do the ones that appear sewn with no thread showing on the outside? Enjoyed the video. These covers ARE doable:)
Oh I do all my binding handsewn and they do appear on the outside. It might just be that the thread is the same colour as the cover so you can't see it in the video. Thank you so much!!!
Hi Juni, with the Daphnes Journal how do you bind all the pages together? Thanks
I use three hole pamphlet stitch
Wow you have so many journal I only have 3 as of now
Hehe, I didn't keep all these but I do love making lots of journals and I'm building up a collection for myself
How do you get the pages / signatures to stay in the covers? With out using a sewing machine? Please can you do a video on that? Step by step. I enjoy watching your videos. You giggle a lot . I love that.!!! Thank you.
I use three-hole pamphlet stitch. I do have a video, a few actually. If you search something like binding tutorial or how to bind on my channel, they should come up. Thank you so much!
The options for covers are endless, thank you for sharing. My question is regarding the binding you used on the journal that had the vintage looking newsprint on the outside, the binding was blue. Was that done like a travelers notebook, removable or was that sewn in? I liked the buttons at the top and bottom, were they just for decoration or were they functional? Were the signatures looped around them on to those buttons and thus removable? Thank you again Juni!
I actually filmed a tutorial for the binding and dangle of those journals. Here's the link: czcams.com/video/J0rX9yT6KXI/video.html. Hope it helps. The buttons are decorative and not removable.
Where's the spine could you use silverware as a spine
Lovely
Ohhh you have some very pretty journal covers and books. I am so tempted to try one or two of them. Thank you for sharing this and let your poor kitty in. LOL
Thank you so much! Love creating them. Cheering you on to try some. Hehe, he got lots of cuddles when I stopped filming
How are you attaching the pages to the covers?
I use three hole pamphlet stitch
I don't know where my comment went but I did say what a great idea it was to have all the different styles in one video. I would love to see a craft with me video on a hard cover book as I have just bought 4 Readers Digest books from an op shop that I want to make into journals. The size seems just right and a great memory of some of my favourite reading. I made a journal after following your video on your faith journals but now the paper cover is starting to peel off. I used fabric glue for added strength and was wondering if you had any suggestions as to how to fix it and what glue you use on the plastic covers?
Ooh great question about the glue. Yep, my glue didn't work either, so for the plastic I use double-sided tape to stick the paper on. I just have to use it all over though or else the paper buckles in this heat. Hope that helps.
I just bought 3 Readers Digest books today from the op-shop to turn into journals for this series - wow!!! Cool, since you're a patron, we'll definitely do a hard cover tutorial asap. Just two other patrons got in first, so, it's third on the list.
@@JuniDesiree Thats exciting, I just went back to see what the first two will be and I will have to have a go at those too. I had already planned on trying the envelope cover and now I will see if I can find a golden book too.
Oh if my memory is correct I think the first journal we're doing is a fabric covered one, and the second is the envelope one. Then we'll do the hard cover book cover for you - yay! And then maybe the Little Golden Book will come next.
@@JuniDesiree Oh this is so exciting and if there is one thing I am not short of besides lace it would be fabric.
Oh yay! I just got some lovely fabric yesterday when I went op-shopping. I think I'll use that - hehe
I would like to make one with a spine
Ooh how fun!
What type of glue do you recommend for gluing fabric to journal cover?
I just use clear craft glue or fabric glue from the local cheap shop here
What do you use to adhere the fabrics to the covers?
I either use craft glue or fabric glue depending on what I can get at the time
@@JuniDesiree, thank you, and thank you for sharing your talent with us. Love your creations!
Where do I buy the Daphine’s Diaries at ?
I get it from a newsagent and I've also gotten it from ebay
Hi may I ask, how much do you pay for your Daphnis Diary magazine. I live in the United States. And one magazine cost $20 dollars.
It used to be about $11 but each year the price goes up so now it’s about $12-14
@@JuniDesiree thank you for your response.
@@JuniDesiree thank you for your response.
Thankyou enjoyed the video
Where do you get Daphinies diary from please?
It can be super hard to find but thankfully one of my local newsagents gets it in. I've also gotten them from ebay
