Put a cloth between the pliers and the book corners so that they don't scratch ☺
Great video!
Love your fabric😊It is the exact pattern of my bathroom shower curtain and window curtain 😂 Great video 🥰
Super video! Great instructions :) Love it! Pam
Thank you!
Excellent tutorial! Very easy to follow and your journal is lovely. To avoid scratching the metal book corners, I cover the corners with a small piece of scrap cloth before clamping down with the pliers.
Thanks so much for the tip! I'll remember that for next time :)
@@MalinaMak you could also use a small piece of foam.
I put some fabric or you could use a napkin or something soft to put around the book corners before i crimp them down to avoid marks from the pliers❤ great video, happy crafting!
How refreshing...didnt have to lower my iq to watch this tutorial...no cutsey stuff...no ridiculous manicure...no inane chatter...no "ums"...no calling us "guys"...
Very very well done...very pretty...way to go...new sub
Nice job...it's lovely. Thanks for this tutorial.
Beautifully done- love the fabric on the cover
Glad I found you. Very well done. Look forward to seeing more 💕
This is a neat idea!
Beautiful and looks easy. Great tutorial!
Place a piece of fabric under the pliers as you press down the book corners. That will prevent the corners from being scratched and misshapen. Great tutorial!
This turned out so cute! I've been trying to make my own books and now I see a better way. Thanks for sharing
Great tutorial! Thank you!!
Great explanations. Thank you!
To keep the plyers from scratching put a thin small cloth on both sides of the metal. This is an old plumber's trick to keep from scratching faucets :)
This is so awesome... Im definitely trying this... thanks for making it so simple 🤩👍
Super cute!!!
Beautiful journal!
You can put some material over the wrench as a buffer as you squeeze the corners into place
Thank you for such a great video, I am going to try this process.
I appreciate the way you explain what you are doing. Very helpful and inspiring. I want to begin junk journaling. We will have to see.
This was a great example of using fabric. I am so intimidated by the thought of having to sew in the signatures. I think it’s holding me back. I am very new to JJ. Thank you for sharing and inspiring.
X-Susan
Hi Susan! I was intimidated at first too, but it is not as difficult as I thought. I have another video where I made a junk journal without sewing: czcams.com/video/lKxruVmRIHs/video.html. Maybe you can try this out first!

Excellent ! Simple but gorgeous !! Kisses from Brasil 🇧🇷
Very nice, pretty book, can't wait to see what you do with it! TFS
Thanks! I posted a video using it and I'll have another one coming soon 💜
Great tutorial!
Thank you!
Such a creative idea! I am going to for sure make this the future! I love the idea of using old book pages for a junk journal!
You should definitely try it out! It's so much fun!
I wish I had the patience. This is so beautiful
Very good way of showing fabric on a journal,I’m going to try & make this...thank you making different ephemera for the inside is what everyone needs to decorate & what kind of papers to use..
It came out so pretty 😊👌
Such a great journal and video!
Thank you!
I know this is a few years old but I'm just getting into junk journaling so I've just started watching these. Anyway, ... you were asking about ways not to scuff the metal book corners and I wanted to let you know that they make jewelry pliers that have soft covers over them to prevent them from scratching the jewelry elements.
Can't wait to see you decorating your junk journal. I made one last year & I've not written in it yet as I don't want to ruin it lol. Hopefully I can get some inspiration from you.xx
You won't ruin it! There are no mistakes in a junk journal, plus you can always cover things up :)
Bueatiful journal. Great tutorial thanks for sharing. Looking forward to more of your tutorials
Thank you! ☺️
Enjoyed your video
Love the fabric you used. New subbie here 😊💚
Can’t wait to see you use this journal. I just used this technique for my newest junk journal but, I took the spine completely out and replaced it with card stock paper.
Thanks! I haven't tried taking out the spine... Is the card stock sturdy enough?
New subbie here..I love your process of making this JJ..looking forward to see you Journal and add embellishments etc..xx👌💗🥰...tfs xxx
Thank you, that means a lot!
Hi, I just discovered your channel today and subbed. I enjoyed your video and look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank you : ) Sheree
Thanks for subscribing 😊
Just saw this video because I'm ready to do a cover like this. Thanks for quick, clear instructions for jogging my memory. Also, they sell jewelry pliers with small nylon blocks coating the pinchers that should protect the corners.
Thanks, I'll have to look for those!
I love your tutorial. New subscriber here. Great job! tfs! Xx
Thank you! Hope you enjoy my videos ☺️
They make a pair of jewelry players that have rubber inserts on the prongs of the pliers. They work great for this.you can find them on Amazon for really inexpensively.
Thanks for the tip!
Also, you can use the All to pre poke holes in the signature fold to make it easier for the needle to go through when sewing them to the spine❤
Cover the plier jaws with masking tape. It will prevent scratching.
I'll try that next time!
Have you tried slipping a strip of fabric between the pliers and the decorative corners to protect the metal from scratches?
How did you take the pages out of the book to protect the spine of the book please x
Loved your video, what needles do you use for the sewing of the book pages together please x
I use lineco bookbinding needles
I have a tool for apply the corners. I actually bought it on a second hand local site
Hi Malina ,new subbie here from Canada. Thanks so much for this video, may I ask how do you attach the paper inside the cover over the fabric? Like right when you open the cover now ,you are going to add paper i imagine. What glue would adhere paper to the fabric parts?
Hi, thanks for your question! For attaching paper to the inside of the cover, I use some sort of liquid glue (like mod podge or pva glue). You can do a test on a scrap of fabric to make sure it will stick, but most liquid glue should work
Those were beautiful papers you used. Do you know the name of the music one? I could see Discovery, but not the rest of it. I subscribed.
It's called "The World of Music". Discovery is one of the books in the set. I found it at a used bookshop.
This is a great tutorial!may I ask the name of the tool you used to poke the holes? An “alt” or “all” tool?
It is called an "awl"
Malina Mak thank you 😊
Malina
Loved your video, very easy to follow. Please can you tell me the name of the glue you used and the type of needle and thread used please x
Thanks! I use either mod podge or PVA glue. The thread I used is a hemp cord
What type of needle did you use? X
A book binding needle
But some tape over the ends of your pliers
