When finishing university and having my degree in my hand, I am going to thank Eminem. He's not only taught me real English, or how to rhyme, but songs like "Lose yourself" or "Till I collapse" and this one literally kicked me up from the floor whenever I was drowning in the awful workload and studying problems and gave me inspiration. Songs like "Space bound" and "Not afaraid" helped me get over relationships thus ended in tears. And this song is a little bit of all of these, probably one of Slim's best masterpieces of all time.
Thank you Shady, you are phenomenal! Thank you for making me wanna be phenomenal too!

    I am phenomenal
With every ounce of my blood
With every breath in my lungs
    Won't stop until I'm phe-no-menal
    I am phenomenal
    However long that it takes
    I'll go to whatever lengths
It's gonna make me a monster though
    I am phenomenal
But I would never say, 'Oh, it's impossible'
Cause I'm born to be phenomenal
    Unstoppable, unpoppable thought bubbles
Stomp you in the verse, obstacles I'm drawn to 'em
    When the going got rough
Some of what I done fought through was the worst, little sissy
Who the fuck taught you how to persevere?
There ain't no situation that you ever had to respond to that's adverse
The messiest thing you've ever gone through was your purse
Yeah, I don't try like hell, then I might as well
Hang it up like a shelf, gotta keep growin' with it, evolve
Cause you can keep throwin' shit at the wall
But you're gonna find that nothing's gonna stick until you apply yourself
Time to slip in that zone till' I find myself
Inside the realm of the unknown and boldly go
Into waters where nobody else has gone before
Or willing to go, uncharted, feeling is so
    Bomb, I'm feelin' myself, I'm a giant
Sometimes I gotta remind myself that I am...
    I am phenomenal
With every ounce of my blood
With every breath in my lungs
    Won't stop until I'm phe-no-menal
    I am phenomenal
    However long that it takes
    I'll go to whatever lengths
It's gonna make me a monster though
    I am phenomenal
But I would never say, 'Oh, it's impossible'
Cause I'm born to be phenomenal
    Let me self-empower you
When you're down and they're tryin' to clown the fuck out of you
And you feel like you're runnin' out of fuel
I'll show you how to use doubt as fuel
    Convert it to gunpowder too
Now what you do is put the match to the charcoal fluid
Put the spark to it like Martha Stewart barbecuing
Ah screw it, feel like you want to hit that wall then do it
Punch through it, just cock back, put your all into it
Now you gon' take that rage and make that what you wage
Never take back what you say
If you stay strapped in your brain, engaged in a steel cage match
    Ready to scrap asap
Take your fists and just ball it
Show who's big and who's smallest you're Christopher Wallace
Now picture 'em all as plastic and foam
Lays flat, where you put your dinner plates at
And set it on 'em like a placemat
    (I am phenomenal)
And I want you to say that
    I am phenomenal
With every ounce of my blood
With every breath in my lungs
    Won't stop until I'm phe-no-menal
    I am phenomenal
    However long that it takes
    I'll go to whatever lengths
It's gonna make me a monster though
    I am phenomenal
But I would never say, 'Oh, it's impossible'
Cause I'm born to be phenomenal
Step into the unknown and find yourself
    You're floating freely, no emotion
Got a fuckin' mouth with no shut-off valve
Can't even cut off power to it, but it's what allowed
Me to come up out from under the fuckin' ground
Cause I worked my butt off now
It's a subject that I don't know how to shut up about
    Cause I stuck it out
Like a motherfucking tongue thats how, I responded when I got shoved around
    You're gonna have non-believers
But when you're beyond belief, you probably shouldn't wonder how
    Get it how you live
But are you prepared to give more than you get?
And put in twice what you get back from this shit
Though what you sacrifice barely is half, never give
    Rap is my shiv
But it's like my shield at the same time I wield and my knife is will
Sometimes I feel just like B. Real from Cypress Hill
How I can just kill a cypher, survivor's guilt
Ready to face any challenge, waitin'
Can taste it, it's salivation, I'm wagin' retaliation
Look what I have built, reputation is validation
The only thing I'm capable of makin' is amazing
Only thing you're capable of makin' is a false statement
Or accusation... I am legendary status, in fact
That is the only way you'll ever be able to say
Your legend is makin' an allegation
I write with the left, same hand I hold the mic with
As I fight to the death, 'til my last breath
Managed to prove who the best man is
Prevail at all costs, be the only ones left standing
In the end, but I ain't gonna be the only one with the advantage
Of knowing what it's like to be southpaw
Cause you can bet your ass you'll be left handed
    I am phenomenal
With every ounce of my blood
With every breath in my lungs
    Won't stop until I'm phe-no-menal
    I am phenomenal
    However long that it takes
    I'll go to whatever lengths
It's gonna make me a monster though

I remember when I heard this back in about 2016 when I was homeless at the time. This was the inspiration I needed to get up off my ass, stop feeling sorry for myself and get out there, get some applications into whoever was hiring at the time and then boom, I made it. I might have gotten myself hurt at a few points, but I didn't stop or slow down. Instead, I just kept going, no matter how much it hurt and gave it the old college try until I couldn't anymore.
Nowadays, I find solace knowing I can actually use this song again as a catalyst for something else, something I can use my brains on this time around.

Tatianna Irizarry-Melendez I was born in 1984, so I remember him gaining popularity, which is impressive in and of itself. Everyone compared him to Vanilla Ice, so everywhere he went, he had to prove himself, and that never stopped until everyone gave up and accepted the fact that he was legit, that and he always found ways to hide that obvious fact with controversy, that before anyone knew it, he managed to succeed as a white rapper, which no one would think would even be possible at the time. So he had to have something to pull that off, whether anyone actually likes him as a rapper or not. He was an anti-image. Terrible role model, the wrong color, not very tough looking, arguably annoying voice, but with a talent that made none of that matter.

As someone who is currently going through an abusive situation and is fighting to get out it, this song is absolutely perfect for symbolizing what I am going through.
I love how its about succeeding, but it doesn't possess toxic positivity. Instead its very gritty, and talks about the bloody struggle that it takes to become phenomenal......even touching up on the fact that you do not come out unscathed when you become successful, but at the same time is self-empowering in a way where yeah......what you're facing may suck, but it reminds you of your power, what you're capable of, and how strong you are. It gives you the motivation to fight no matter how painful it may get, because you hold the power to be successful.

Those of you that don't like Eminem's new music just don't get it. He grew up, and he's lending valuable life experiences that he's grown from. So listen to the words instead of worrying how cool the beat sounds. This is why half the world are sheep and why people like Eminem will always stand out. Because while you're criticizing him he's busy dreaming infinitely, probably in his sleep too.
Eminem's old songs are FUN to listen to, but his slim shady persona gives you jack shit to take motivation from. I love Eminem and his old persona too. I just prefer him as the motivational aggressive guy, that's when he's at his best, because of the words and thoughts he let's out, not how cool the beat sounds. If you listen to Eminem for cool beats, stop insulting him by being a fan. Go listen to something like blood on the dance floor instead.

People who hate on his music are not intelligent enuff to understand his writing and the way he bends words and his almost unthinkable punchlines.. If all your worried about is what the beat sounds like u lack knowledge on any hiphop. If u think he's washed up ur wrong Em dude has nothing to prove he proved way more then expected this is the man who changed hiphop along with a select few ita honesty beating a dead horse.. A ford guy is gonna argue with a Chevy guy all day everyday even when they broke down on the side of the rode waiting for a Chevy tow truck

***** or his new songs just don't match his old shit. The beats aren't as good, the flow kind a sucks in most of his songs and his lyrics aren't as good. He used to have simple but clever lyrics. Now it's like he's either trying too hard or not trying hard enough. Stan and Bad Guy show the difference well. He's new stuff is weaker. Some of the new songs are good but none of them match his best and he has more weak songs then before.
You can disagree if you want but don't insult others for having a different opinion

Anthony Barbati Yep Yelawolf, 50, Obie Trice, 2Pac, Maroon 5, Sia, Dr. Dre, NWA, Bugz, D12, Linkin Park and many more hip-hop artists specially but Eminem is my #1 since 2002 and I was really young that time and his like the first I've ever liked

I don't listen to Eminem, but Fistful of Vengeance brought me here and i remember it is also in Southpaw. I have to admit this song is so good. Last night watched the official video of the song and wow, impressed.
