If we talk about NASCAR games, there is nothing like NR2003 and iRacing. That's the truth.
Because there is a specific kind of physics on NASCAR that almost any game can resemble them.
NASCAR dirt to Daytona and Thunder 2004 are awesome games also.

I'll admit, not impressed at all with the racing at Daytona for the NASCAR Fusion. But the rest of the game looks great, still very much contemplating a purchase.

Radney Johnson and I notice these things the most because I go to the 500 and 400 every year, it's not only my home track it's my FAVORITE track.

the double yellow line should be closer together, the black line down the middle is only to make the yellow line more noticeable
It's kinda funny the Jeff Gordon rip-off car is the #16 because I believe Jeff Gordon has said he originally wanted to race the #16 not the #24.
He originally had the 46. But the movie company that made Days of Thunder owned the rights to the number, so Jeff went with the 24.

Playing PC2 and it's difficult to get the Ford Fusion tuned right. So much more realistic and immersive than NH2 in my opinion. An amazing game.

I feel like, unless Slightly Mad goes back to sim with PC 4, this is the only true simulator on PS4... I like Assetto Corsa, but PC 2 feels like the real whole package. Great presentation, amazing helmet cam, amazing graphics, amazing driving feeling...

I loved Nascar in Project Cars 1 Beta. For some reason they removed it from the final game in Project Cars 1.
I love looking at telemetry! Right off the bat I can tell you that you need more of a camber angle. Hotter tire temps in the rear, no wonder you are so loose. Many ways to fix that.
In real life it's is often that the cars can spin coming off of the turns because coming of the banking the cars get really light and if air from other cars is in the right place you can get turned around
If anything for Nascar they could've added it in DLC to make sure it's correctly implemented
I preordered PCars 2 and I've loved it so far. I've thoroughly enjoyed racing the Sportscars and the road course Indycars. I was a little disappointed in the Indycars on ovals. Every single time in turn one at Indy the AI ran each other in the grass and I would always either crash, or get a puncture from debris in turn 1 after the AI crashed. I guess I'll just stick to rFactor for my Indycar oval racing.
I did real 500 Laps at Daytona...in Real Time. It was awesome, but the Game still missed some of the real NASCAR feeling.
I know I'm being nit-picky but NASCAR stock cars do use a clutch when shifting at all time during oval and road race's.
The Jerico transmissions they used to use didn't require the clutch to up shift. Only required for down shifts and out of neutral in the pits. Whether or not they still use these transmissions, I don't know.

Without drafting at Daytona im reaching about 195mph. 200 is possible in draft.
There are restrictor plates in the game, but there is no way for the AI to adhere to the rule.

I’ve recently started watching nascar because Cars is my favourite movie, so I bought project cars 2 on sale on the PS4. I think it’s good, but I just wanted to ask if nascar heat 4 or 5 are worth buying.
I’m also interested in racing online. Do people still race online on Nascar heat 4 or have most players moved to heat 5?
pay the price and come to iRacing if you wanna best with experienced oval racers.
dragonflyGT I’ve watched some videos of it and it looks good, but it is expensive and I don’t have a PC. Maybe I’ll get one in the future for iRacing.
For now, I think I’m gonna get Nascar heat 5 just to get used to Nascar driving.

Great game overall, but the stock car racing and AI are ATROCIOUS.
This just isn't anything like restrictor plate racing, and no cautions is the final nail in the coffin for this part of the game.
The rest of the game is pretty damn good.

I'll point out that the default mirror quality is low in this game, tweaking it higher makes it far better
Multiplayer can suck when guys don't put the practice in on the tracks and jump directly into multiplayer. Winning is somewhat easy. If you get out in front just hold the bottom lane because 9 out of 10 guys are too afraid or inexperienced to make a pass high by the wall.
If nascar gave them the chance to make the next nascar game it would be 10× better then nascar heat 2.

Yup i do. Been following nascar since 2004. Favorite driver is kevin harvick. Ive been to 2 brickyard 400s. Let me rephrase my comment. If this game studio actually did some studing on nascar rules and physics then i believe they could make a good game. Of course they would have to figure out real pack racing and other stuff. 704 games did a good job with nascar heat 2 but its not the greatest.
Bottom line is if nascar gave this studio a chance to make a full nascar game with the right physics/rules and everything then i believe they could of made a better game then 704 games.

They are two completely different types of games. NASCAR Heat 2 is an arcade game and PC2 is a simulation. I think it's hard to compare the two games directly since you have to want different things from each game to really enjoy it for what it is

1) You can tune the car in so many ways. 2) Its not a Nascar game. There are no cautions/flags or penalties (during the race for improper driving ON TRACK) 3) Ai quality depend on your aggression and level setting. 4) Pit stops aren't up to a full Nascar game or reality. 4
5) Still pitting and Ai awareness is not up to good levels. 6) It depends on where you drive. (Daytona and Indianapolis ovals are around 80% okay, whereas Texas isn't because of the short track and the pit entrance. Lastly) iRacing is only fully online with all real names human drivers. It is a paid subscription and doesn't have to program any Ai or offline career. It's maintenance and updates are amazingly quick, because humans pay in a revolving way for online content in many ways. A career/offline/Ai game, that's online as well, has to do everything. It also usually diesnt have the cash flow of a subscription game. A non-dedicated simulation/sim-cade/arcade game that doesn't specialize in Nascar or any one particular thing or one for just Many platforms, will never be as detailed or exclusive/inclusive as a targeted game. There are sectors on an oval and that "Talk" is English. As in from England. Not "Yankee" talk from Northern USA. (especially not the non salary capped disgraceful NY Yankees) Only 15 laps on an oval is a disgrace. 5Xs time should do nothing. It's less than 3 hours. If you had 31 other humans, it would be awesome. Well like 15 online.

Enjoying the channel, been going through a lot of the previous videos. How does the oval racing compare to Nascar Heat 2 ? Got an itch to try some oval racing again and it's borderline impossible using a controller in Rfactor 2 so need to look for another option as getting a wheel is out of the question at the moment.

I have a big problem with the nascars In this game. For some odd reason they have tons and tons of understeer in controller even though I'm going super slow and pulling the stick to the left. I was going only 200km ph and I try to turn a corner with no throttle input and I smash into wall.

AptCellar 91407, I heard that at launch in Forza 7 they have Daytona, Indianapolis, Homestead, Sonoma, Watkins Glen, and Road America for NASCAR tracks, but they also have many other tracks to enjoy as well :)

Like actually Oval racing -getting the physics right must be harder than it looks.
This game is made for multiplayer the ai sucks. They need to work on that the drafting and everything else. They need to add every track in the future for nascar and every car from Gen 1 to Gen 6. They need I make the tracks look like the tracks and get rid of the pit road walls and cones that aren’t there.
Your video name is misleading. I was figuring you'd run at Texas and makes some oval claims there, not at a plate track, where Slightly Mad Studios has obviously never developed a proper drafting system.

I get Fucking warnings everytime I exit pit to go on track. Regardless if I go on track early or all the way at the end by the cones, it gives me penalty.

andypandy1114 I think the penalties need turning off for the whole game till they sort it out. I get penalties going down the middle of a straight and in rallycross it's near impossible.
Project Cars is really good game as far as racing simulator very good but they did sucked it up on the nascar . Need to be better include the license so you can have complete game! Please bring nascar

One problem I've been having with the game while racing on ovals is the car pulls towards the wall. Any solutions to that? I've adjusted the weight jacking, camber, caster, toe-in, tire pressure and nothing works. Is it because I'm using a controller, or did you have the same problem with the wheel?

ok I watched about 15 mins.. and I stick with yes..
The real cars are way harder to correct once sliding, the race was not ran correctly by the AI at all, there was zero lining up and bump drafting... there should have been two tight lines of cars, not cars constantly fishing around each other and going 3 wide to pass lol. Maybe racing on a 1.5 mile track would be fun on PC2 but the plate racing is all wrong.

If you JUST want oval IndyCars, and only want to race the AI, I would say no. But its a damn good game.

Stock car racing at Daytona is trash. Hit the wall, you're done for. Impossible to win, no matter what difficulty you choose. Only way I can think of winning is running 100-200 laps. Rest of the game, challenging but fun.
Can confirm. I don’t play this game because whenever you hit the wall, you stick there like fucking butter.
I never knew they didn't use the clutch for (oval) races. That has got to be weird experience for people not used to it.
