What you said with the 1 on 1 with Owen is so true. I had training of some great coaches and the one thing i did at the start a lot was react before the shot was taken. They would absolutely H A M M E R me for doing that and at the end i started making a lot more smarter and better saves. Finding that balance and not giving the shooter an inch and waiting for that shot really helped me in skyrocketing my level of play up. Tomorrow i have a scrimmage to play against 2nd and 3rd div players here in the Netherlands so im excited for that :)

Elite shooters keep you humble, that's for damn certain. Good tip on using the inside-out approach to arms and hands to force the shooter to go around you. I don't get beat too often through the body, but I may tweak my stance to try this out.

Hi, a question about your competitiveness. What mental games/tricks do you use to get focused for the fist period? I find with myself that the first period, im just out there for a skate and by the second period im more dialed in, thinking more about angles, shots, rebounds ect. Im an old timer who plays mens league and pick up, so im not looking for a contract, but want to be sharp for the entire game.
I think it comes with age, but taking my Amino IQ supplements help, lots of good breathing thorughout the day, elite level hydration, good sleep + a nap. Hope that helps

When I was active in hockey a long time ago, I was also very active in jiu-jitsu. I couldn't quite explain the benefits of jiu-jitsu for goaltenders, but I knew there was a relationship and benefits between the 2. Your also always doing your thing on the bike when most do have cars. Your cardio has got to be supreame on top of your transportation. We always see it. Biking in that hot weather is a bitch. I rode 23(37 km in communist speak) miles Friday in what I suspect was heat index's ranging from 31C to probably topping out at 38C(C stands for communist amirite??) in last few miles under blazing sun. I struggled, im usually good with heat but I find 35C is where things can go pear shaped depending on the day/activity. Apparently on Friday keeping my heart rate in the mid 150's in that heat was a bit too much. And you can't get down about Owen opening you up like a tin can... he's a 1st round pick for a reason, he has been doing this sort of slicing and dicing of defense and goaltenders for years.
