My wife loves her Outback but after I bought the Forester Touring as my vehicle she loves the size, seat height much more.
We’ve already decided that in 26 we’ll sell her 19 Outback and buy the redesigned Forester Touring Hybrid.
Subaru will be introducing the redesigned Forester in 25 and will available with the Toyota RAV4’s hybrid system

Only seeing this video now. Thank you for this comparison, really appreciate it. I just assumed the Forester, built on a newer platform, would be better in terms of ride, handling and noise isolation.

Isn't it strange that the definition of an SUV has changed over time to refer to how a car looks, when the original term 'Sport Utility Vehicle' referred to a raised car that could do minor off roading. By the original definition the Outback is just as much an SUV as the Forester.

    • @benhuang2773
      @benhuang2773 Před 4 lety +4

Actually, the original definition was of a vehicle that could do *major* off roading. (think Landcruiser)

Suvs are hefty and beefy trucks that can go anywhere all terrains . Like Toyota’s 4runner , Land Cruiser and FJ cruiser , also Jeeps , and ford bronco .
.The forester and outback are just what’s called a crossover. Which is a blend between a car and an suv . Hence they are neither just crossovers.

Disagree- The new Forester is superior to the old Outback . I have a Touring and it is quieter and the engine if more refined and offers better throttle response than the old 2.5.

i feel like they have spent more time developing the outback. and pulled money from the forester . the outback fleet sales numbers are huge in NZ as alotve merchandisers can get alotve product in them signage stock etc. and it handles better its a win win. really wish subaru would consider an 8 speed auto or dual clutch of some sort. even if they brought some from ZF or others

@@josiahlopez5545 In 26 we’ll be selling my wife’s Outback and we’ll be replacing it with the redesigned Forester Touring Hybrid.
      My Forester is a Touring.
I wanted Brown leather interior and the only way to get brown interior was to buy the Touring.
If Ivory leather interior would have been offered in the Limited model, I would have bought it instead.
My wife and I Refuse to buy another vehicle with Gloomy, Depressing, Outdated, Boring, Dull Grey, Charcoal Grey or Black interior again.
Those interior colors have been shoved down everyone’s throats for 34 years. When they became popular in 1990, it was a welcoming color palette, as before 1990 most vehicles had Blue, Red , White interior colors, but after 34 years of the same colors, we’re sick and tired of it.
Our 11 Ford Ranger XLT super cab 4WD came with grey and black interior, so I had it reupholstered in Red with black trim and stitching to match the custom 2 tone exterior paint, (Silver over Red metallic).
I get so many compliments on the 2 tone paint and interior on my old Ranger.

I will agree with power is not much but mpg is typically the best in awd vehicles in their classes. Cant really compare a fwd to an awd with gas mileage. Forester is almost identical in mpg as the crv and crv is only awd when needed. Rav r isnt as good, hybrid is exactly that, a hybrid. Subaru makes diesels that do 40mpg in Asia. We desperately need one of those though. They have way more torque
