1. Princess is not dissatisfied with her life. She is dissatisfied with how their empire is suffering and the Queen's inaction towards it.
2. "meets evil person, get corrupted and starts a war" is purposefully reductive. Is it evil or corrupted to accept an offer that would elevate your empire and end suffering of its inhabitants? This isn't some thriving kingdom whose leader wants power for the sake of power. It's a downtrodden empire that's a shell of its former self whose heir lacks the experience and patience to accept that the empire will come out of this era stronger after enduring its harshness.
Tbh that story line actually works really well. I don't blame them for using it.

Now Hero Classes are just additional classes watered down to be basically the same with different effects and "class feeling." I swear we will reach a time where a Warrior will be able to shout heals or resurrect someone by taunting them.

In WotLK there's a quest to SAVE nerubian eggs for an uncorrupted Nerubian guy... He was literaly asking you to save his babies. When you kill Bosses both in Azjol Nerub and Ahn'Kajet they THANK YOU for freeing them.
In MoP the Mantid show you the sacred place they protect their eggs, and the one you quest for ask you to kill her queen that has been manipulated by the SHA of Fear, and you have to collect amber (food) for them to feed their babies...

Any species intelligent and self aware enough to form a civilisation will resemble humans, both physically(you need at least hands that can make tools) and mentally. Thats just how it is. Yes.. In MoP the Empress of the Mantid got corrupted by the Sha of Fear, driving her into paranoid, which caused her race to over exploid the sap of the trees which started to die out and in fact you collect amber/sap for the neutral mantid to feed their babies.
Quijari, Mantid, Nerubian and these new bug people are all similar, and of course since they all were born from the flesh and blood of the olds gods and their fates are tied to them, so deal with it.
The diferences are these:
Nerubians got conquered by the scourge, most of them got raised as undead.
Quiraji remained loyal to C'thun till we kill them all
Mantid, the Empress got manipulated by the Sha, but the resistanace, the Klaxxi, the guys we quest for, while oposing to their Empress were still 100% loyal to Y'saarg, so in fact that they went against us when Garrosh consumed Y'saarg heart, as they felt the return of their god
These guys the Empress wanted to remain free, she is fucking smart as she knows she can't stand against US, beause we have never lost, and if she joined N'zoth, they all be dead now... but the young princess was stupid and fell for the promisses of power of Xala'tath.

HEY! Fanfic writers write better than this! I would have turned our undead lady friend into being forced to have to relay on Arthas/lich king in order to try to take out the void. Not just because I think Arthas is awesome. But seriously, THAT was a huge ball dropped. The movie should have been Arthas's storyline as it has EVERYTHING one would want. Cool guy, cooler dudes, undead. The failure of naive heroes on and so forth. PLUS it can set up a sequel better when you have the last thing being Arthas killing his dad. In the past people cared about all sorts of enemies drama, from nerubians themselves, to nightborn, elemental lords, nagas, venthyr, trolls and all of the playable races. if this is uninteresting, it's writing/storytelling fault, but not the idea itself.
This is suramar with more dialogue, yet people liked suramar and this they don't? What about kael thas, was that drama also?
Orcs are surely cool but you can't have draenor as the baseline. In fact, this cutscene is line with most other stories.
It just misses a big brutal rebellion to overtake the queen, rather than an assassination. is this the problem?
I think people are upset because this is just generic and forgettable for a main villain and it is, it's boring. no need to inject so much other stuff alongside it.
As someone who hasn't played in a few years, I thought it was interesting enough.
It's not the main cast (Thrall and Jaina), but this is fine for a new enemy's story

for the record i consider myself part of his audience as well, i like many things he says but when it comes to games story telling he admitted he doesn't care and just wants to bash things, which i find quite unfortunate as people don't even realize how good of a story a game can tell.

Who thought it's a good idea to show the nerubians just like any other human kingdom? Why oh why would they act exactly like humans???? Blizzard writers are so trash.
Reminds me of shows like Halo live action where they tried to make Master Chief into some emotional "deep" hero completely missing everything that made him good.
In this case, I don't think they gave much thought to the nuances and ended up with a generic story but with spiders.

The female power fantasy arc is getting pretty damn old. They try to write Artha's story of corruption over and over without understanding it. What made Arthas compelling is that we understood how he got to that point because we could find ourselves making immoral decisions when backed into a corner.
Their stories are usually "muh ppl sad, guess i have to sell my soul to the devil." Then when they're defeated they get a redemption of "I never want to sell my soul to the devil, but muh ppl were sad."

Blizzard took one of the coolest monster races on Azeroth that has been led by male kings that look like spider beetle hybrids and turned it into an all female led faction of anthropomorphic Disney aliens. Not to mention repeating storylines of other better stories by being basically just the Azshara cinematic sprinkled in with some Arthas/Alexandros Morgraine betrayal from his son, except significantly worse.
If I was still invested in WarCraft, I would be incredibly disappointed. There is however not much disappointment left to spill rather than an increased apathy for this franchise. The true Void is the lack of emotions that the audience has toward a franchise that used to bring so much joy and excitement.
I'll have to look more into the WoW lore, but at least in real life female spiders ARE the dominant ones and the bigger ones. I'm not saying this absolves any issues, but something to consider.

It's been well established that the Crypt Lords were former kings of the Nerubians before turning into Undead and were at the top of the hierarchy, so having it become a matriarchical led society is just changing the lore for the sake of changing it.
If this is the kind of intelligence WarCraft caters to nowadays, then no wonder we get slop like this.

Get off it dude, they've been doing these types of cinematics since mop. Look at Burdens of Shaohao (mop), Lords of War (WoD), harbingers (legion), warbringers (bfa), afterlives (slands), dracthyr cinematic (dragonflight) and now threads of fate (tww).
Its a completely different set of cinematics that are supplementary to the lore.

I think the main issue is that they very quickly tore apart the mystery covering nerubians, and now they just seem like another generic kingdom of higher priority. Like, they instantly show us how the most important person in the kingdom acts, and she just acts like a bland ass person. Besides, we have no idea what's the reasoning behind them becoming humanoid and that throws me off

What mystery was lost at all? What did we learn about nerubians here that ruins them? We learned that in BFA they turned back to the void because of xalatath. How in the world does that ruin anything about nerubians (the majority of which were undead that we dealt with) you guys have pea brains and just love to hate. The scarabs aren't necessarily nerubian. Just try to learn anything about the lore.

in general spiders are solitary creatures i mean there are the spiders that team up with frogs (or toads? i cant remember) but overall they are only together to mate and then for a while the eggs and tiny spiders stay with the mom, then again these arent really spiders, they are fantasy spider creatures who happen to be heavily influenced by drow/Lolth i can see where youre comming from but at the end of the day it is fantasy, also idk if we ever learn where the average nerubian comes from, imo its probably a mix of spiders and bee's where ALL nerubians or atleast 90% of them are offspring from the queen but you dont need 100 queens, one queen and a replacement should anything happen is enough
