    Solid review of the Prospeed rack. It looks great how it follows the contour and you can load it up! My first time on your channel. I'm in to see what you do in 2021. I clicked to see new posts.

    Dude good review the only thing I wished was it was longer. Not a Deal breaker at all though

      Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment. I agree... just a little longer in both directions. Not a lot, but just a couple inches would be perfect.

    I did some major mods to my Front Runner II for the Hundo. Gotta get to piecing all the clips together. But it's WAAAAAAY better now! Stay tuned!
    This rack seems super nice. I really like the slotted feature for moving the cross bars.

      Thank you watching the video. Front Runner has been making quality products for a long time. I took a leap a faith for an unknown brand and it has proven itself. The slots are nice for adjustability and mounting options.

    Good review! Just discovered this company and really like the look of this rack. How is the wind noise compared to stock? No whistling thru the gap between the roof and wind fairing? The 'other' brands all seem to use the rubber strip. I actually like to utilize the sunroof and not keep it permanently shut as soon as the roof rack goes on.

    • @LXPlore
      @LXPlore  Před 2 lety

      Sorry for the late response. Thank you watching the video. The rack is awesome. It’s sturdy easy in the eyes. There no wind noise to speak of and as for the use of your sun roof… there’s nothing hindering it or blocking it’s use.

    Hey John. Little late in my comment ha. Just wondering if possible to have a sunroof cutout on this rack. I look to retain access to the open sunroof. Love how that rack fits on your rig. Its low profile and it definitely follows the contour of the 100 as you mentioned.

    • @LXPlore
      @LXPlore  Před 2 lety

      Hi K W, thanks for watching the video. The sunroof is fully functional with this roof rack, provided the cross bars are positioned out of the way.

      @@LXPlore hey thanks for the reply John. Not a bad price on the rack either, considering. That might be the biggest bonus. Might pull the trigger if they actually have some in stock.

    There is a "rubbery" type strip (push-in and seal) that will fit these 10 series aluminum extrusions so you can "seal" off the two top slots, and perhaps do the single forward slot to stop the rain water build-up and side streaking and cut any additional wind noise. I found it online once and they even come in multiple colors, but I have not been able to find it again, not even in my bookmarks where I know I have it. Hope you are a better searcher than me and let me know cause I'm installing my Prospeed Rack at this very moment.

    Good looking rack! I actually thought of this rack also. But eventually decided to build my own to save. Final result is good although took long time. However didn't save a lot as retail raw material was expensive. Such a shame.
    BTW, like your wing or spoiler. How did you make it get it?

    • @LXPlore
      @LXPlore  Před 3 lety

      Thank you for watching the video. That’s awesome you made your own rack. Building things from scratch with your own hands should give you a sense of accomplishment and pride. As for the spoiler, I believe it’s OEM. It was on there when I purchased it.

    Dang I love that thing! Looks so slick and stealthy. Did it come painted or powder coated or did your paint it? I think the front angle of the deflector follows the windshield line better than the prinsu! Seems like the prinsu angle isn’t adapted for the different makes and models, seems like theirs is too steep for the LC’s bit perfect for 4runners

    • @LXPlore
      @LXPlore  Před 3 lety

      Yes, this roof rack is low profile and super strong. It came powder coated black and so far it’s been holding up good.

    Thanks for the review. Do those water spots wash or wipe away easily or are the more or less permanent now? Any idea if this is a common issue for most of these style racks?

    • @LXPlore
      @LXPlore  Před 3 lety

      Thank you for watching. The water spots are there but I think with a little polish or wax they’d come out. If I was more diligent on drying the rack I wouldn’t have the spots either. Racks of this style are gonna have water seep from the extrusion. Only way to avoid it is by using compressed air and blow the water out.

    I agree, I wish it was longer as well still on the fence about it. Hey John, on a side note I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on some Methods the 305NV like yours. I have some questions for you, maybe you can make it you’re next review. I saw your thread on IH8MUD about them. Are you happy with the 275 or do you wish you would have gone 285? Are you currently running spacers? Also can you go over the mod to the center caps you had to do? Thanks

    • @LXPlore
      @LXPlore  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Jose! So I’m currently running 285 70 17’s, no need for spacers, however I had to knock down the pinch weld in the wheel well. I really like the 0 offset. As for the center caps, I didn’t modify, however I know someone that cut the lip off and used jb weld to keep it in place. I was able to acquire center caps that fit. I believe they’re from a Tundra.

      @josemeza7002 Před 3 lety +1

      @@LXPlore what’s the biggest size tire you can run with 0 offset on stock suspension. Is 265/70/17 the perfect size or would 275/70/17 fit. I don’t want to have to trim the bumper to cancel rubbing

    • @LXPlore

      @@sebastiankoscso2965 I have 285 70 17s … I had stock height suspension too. I didn’t have to trim the bumper just the fender liner and pinch weld. You’ll definitely have to raise the torsions. I’m sure both tire sizes that you mentioned will fit without modification.
