Who says you can't have horror in a summer series? And who thought that inserting Steven Seagal into a zombie apocalypse was a remotely good idea?! Against the Dark pits Seagal against a world of vampires. Vampires that happen to not think, and eat flesh... so zombies. But they call them vampires. Usually.

I remember loving this movie. Seagal is, as always, just Seagal, but thrown against a bunch of zombies, which is hilarious on its own (we had COD vs. Zombies, Strippers vs. Zombies, now get ready for...), and he's almost entirely out of focus the entire time. It's like the movie follows a bunch of npcs waiting to get eaten while the actual protagonist appears every once in a while in the background. It's like watching a couple of dwarves hiding in Moria, hearing, "You shall not pass!" faintly in the distance, wondering what that's about.
That seagal being a protagonist thing blows my mind. Youre right, that's how he sees himself, and it carries into his movies. Bad way to live but unsurprising with seagals shitty track record.
Seagal doesn't have fans, he has apologists.
No one in this stinker was putting any effing effort into what they were doing.

It's taken me three viewings to finally finish this video. Not because the review is bad, but because the film itself is so dull, my mind keeps blanking out while I watch. I love the horror genre, but this thing looks like a complete and utter bore.
P.S. - If they had billed it as "CHUD 3," I might've at least been able to glean a shred of entertainment value from the tie-in, lol.
Jesus, did Segal do ANY training with a sword to prepare for this role? His action scenes with a sword are pathetic.
Segal doesn’t train for any role he’s to good for any of that
I think they're more accurate than the twirly dancing that Hollywood usually pretends is what the "bestest ever" swordsmen do.
Keith David is way tougher than Steven Seagull-Schiessen. He whipped Roddy Piper's ass, after all.

Keith David is a character actor who has himself an impressive portfolio of roles ranging from supervisor to natural disaster survivor, to monster killer, to being the monster, and so on

Decker Shado actually earlier vampires were mindless creatures and werewolves were the clever monsters, this changed in the earliest book called "Dracula"

A demon is being of pure evil and hate that doesn’t tend to physically manifest, if he is religious enough to understand this, then he would say that they are infected, but it’s also a segal film so it might be shoty writing. 8:15.

It's a better retelling of Omega man than I am Legend since that movie failed at the whole point of the original this only partially fails.

This movie's plot sounds alot like I AM LEGEND. It is based on Richard Matheons's novella about the sole survivor in a the world is overrun by the living dead in the aftermath of a nuclear war. In Richard Matheson's work they are vampires. In the first movie it was based on, LAST MAN ON EARHT. they are refered to in the trailer as 'zombies'. This is where it all got started. Ofcourse Decker, you already know this.
