It's a reference to the game Runescape. In the game, to do fly fishing, you need a certain fishing level, which is 20, to catch trouts.
RedX1000 so not a realistic game. 😉
@@Madriveroutfitters lol not really. The amount of fish caught in the game, if it was realistic, you'd replace the water with just seas and rivers of fish and that's it.

I've been fishing for about 30 years. Just finally bought my first fly rod last summer. Haven't gotten the chance to use it yet besides some casting practice in my back yard. But I've loved watching all your videos. Everything is explained very clearly. I feel like I'm fully prepared to get started. Love the channel.

I'm blessed to have a pond on my property that is steps from my back door that allows me time to practice what you teach. You are very correct to say it's not just for trout. I've stocked the pond with blue gill and bass and let me tell you, the first time I caught a blue gill on a fly rod I was... pardon the expression... hooked!!! So much fun to dry fly for blue gill.

I had a nice older lady today give me an awesome fly fishing pole. He seemed to have a very sweet soul and I had expressed interest in learning how to fly fish and she told me her husband passed and gave me one of his fishing poles. I feel blessed and would love to learn. God bless

Started fishing three years ago. I'll go for anything; bass, pike, panfish, walleye, catfish, etc. I taught myself from online resources because none of my friends are really into fishing. I'm really excited to learn fly fishing because it's pretty much the only form I haven't tried yet and it looks extremely fun!

I remember my dad mentioned he wanted to go fly fishing at one point, but since he’s passed, I’ve really considered going upstate NY (another thing he wanted to again) so I think I’ll be heading up there sometime soon. Try out some trout fishing with a fly-fishing rod or something.

i got a Redington classic trout 4wt 8ft. with the echo base reel 4/5 wt, i will be kayak fishing or ponds, some river fishing, also some reservoir bank fishing, should i use 4 or 5wt line?

Can I ask about rod selection you spoke. At the moment I'm spinning but really want to try fly. You mentioned that for beginner ideal rod is 9ft 6-8wt. Just wondering would I be able to fish in a loch wit 9ft rod? Or do I need longer rod if fishing from bank to be able to cast far? In my fishing club there is a good loch with trouts, also few rivers with trouts and salmon. Just wondering what should be my choice? Thanks

I just got my first fly fishing outfit today and surprising I'm casting decently but some problems I'm having are distance and the lead always comes back to the fly line so it's a straight cast and then at the end with the leader it circles over itself. I'm not getting tangled it just doesnt all lay straight. How can I fix that? Also how can I get more distance?
