  • The shortest distant from here to there is a straight line but what if there's a gully in the middle ? No problem if you're piloting a Caterpillar D11R. You simply build a bridge out of any surrounding material which in this instance happens to be large boulders and over burden. Looking a bit sketchy at times things were well under control.

    How do you call it a bridge if no way to let water run through ?

    • @DigzBig
      @DigzBig  Před 3 lety

      Just a reference from its appearance. It didn't stay long as dumping continued on both sides.

      It's a pathway across an area being back filled after the coal was extracted.

    Definitely afraid to fill the blade up... ohh well that's what you get hiring 20some year old kids...low pay high fuel consumption.. not to mention.. excessive hours on the equipment...

      @thewidower1 Před 6 lety +1

      Johnny Davis you obviously have never built a bridge with a large piece of equipment like this. He is doing this exactly right. That dozer would sink if he did it any other way.

    • @johnnydavis8351
      @johnnydavis8351 Před 6 lety

      thewidower1 I come from a heavily mined state..both punch and strip mined...so I know a under worked piece of equipment when I see it...but we can certainly agree to disagree..

    • @thewidower1
      @thewidower1 Před 6 lety +9

      Johnny Davis just because you come from a state that has mining doesn’t mean anything. I spent many years sitting on these dozers. I’ve built these roads to nowhere just like he is doing and I am fully aware of the risks involved. That dozer is extremely heavy and if that job is not done right, he either sinks or slides off the edge. This hubs is not a 20 something. He is a skilled operator. This is not a job you would want to rush through with that big machine.
