For me with the runners loop the shoelace gets very easily untied with just walking. But with a regular lacing system it never gets undone by itself.

Not really. In my youth, I had so much extra lace length that I had to go around my ankle when playing indoor (can't go under the boot with TF boots or the laces will break in no time). It was never a problem. Of course, I wasn't tightening it outrageously.

Only reason to do around the ankle is if your laces are too long. More useful in the 20th century when boot makers used the same length of laces for every shoe size, so smaller sized boots often had a silly amount of extra lace length.

Runners loop are good but take to much time to tie.

You set it up ONCE . Then when you untie you DON'T have to take it out completely. Just loosen up a bit and that's it.

regular tie essentially pulls the upper of the boot down to hug the foot. Runner's loop pulls the sides of the boot inward. there's a distinct difference with the lockdown
