This makes me smile… a lot 😎👍
Nice whip, lookin super sick. Can't wait to hear the build video👊👍👍🔥💯🇨🇦
me either......show us the build please.
Nice example of a clean Calais!
Thanks
looks and sounds mint mate
keen to see more
Clean as sounds beast
Good ole 3800 supercharged V6. Bulletproof engine. My 07 Pontiac grand prix grp has the same engine.
Mean brother! Sounds like v8.
Sounds tuff💪💪
Very Nice mate
It sounds wicked too.
Everyone: How much torque does it make?
This guy: A shit load!
Sooo Australian! 😂
Beautiful car
Beautiful
Hey man. Love it. Tuff as. My l67 is a few steps behind yours but I'm getting there. Currently doing the e85 conversion and yella terra w2a cooler. Then needs a mafless tune 🤟😁 I'm not running a cam yet as I have the yella terra 1.9 ratio rockers.some crow valve springs and those nice billet rocker covers from mace. Also have the YT snout with 11psi pulley, 8rib pulley and h'balancer conversion for blower belt, mace blower insulator , coils, bored out throttle body and port matched inlet manifold, porter blower and intake manifold ported to match. Also with growler CAI and yella terra intake pipe.have a catch can for blowby. Memcal from mace , paceys with twin 300cell cats and twin system magnaflow. Tranny has a shift kit with 2800stall , b&m shifter , hsv LSD w/3.9 ratio. Hsv brake upgrade all round with braided lines and chrome plated 17'interceptors with some MT ET street rear 265 50r tyres. Pretty kool package in a VT wagon😁🤟 it surprises some of the guys on the street haha
@@xxkazu78 mate trust me.. if your thinking about it, get one while you still can. They are starting to get harder to find and asking too much money. Theyr a bloody good motor and good fun to shit stir the V8 and turbo boys on the street
@@xxkazu78 one tip. If you ever get one. First mod is CAI with ally straight pipe. Bypass all that rubber factory crap. Buy a yella terra snout kit w their 82mm pulley, or rebuild the factory m90 bearings and replace the plastic bush inside the snout and use maces pulley system. Then a boost gauge to check pressure, bypass the boost solenoid, 1:9 ratio rockers, new valve springs and memcal from mace. Thatl keep you happy for a while. Doing full exhaust on these motors only helps when you have supporting mods .
@@xxkazu78 yeah no worries man. I was lucky. I got mine out a wrecked xu6 hsv.
@@xxkazu78 let me know if you get one mate 🤙
@@BigRevKev82 my mate just bought a pretty vx supercharged Calais she's got potential and still goes pretty good but she needs some TLC what do you reckon we should do to it to get her going good
If quality not the best try going to settings in video and changing to better resolution 👍
Very nice car mate. I'm about to buy a VT S pack. Will either SC or Turbo it. How much this cost to do if you don't mind. .
Hey mate, what gauges are you running? Im struggling to understand which would suit me best.
Very nice. So in the end whats invovled when swapping to an L67?
what pcm and bcm did you use and did they speak to each other or did you need a tuner to achieve that bit.....or did a no vats memcal slipped into a vx pcm get it done maybe? Please and thanks.
Hey mate I'm looking at converting mine. I'm not sure if I have all the parts for the build. Can you tell me what parts you used to do the conversion.
sorry about video quality will try edit new video
Ever thought of running a sound tube to make it really whine ?
Hey mate what exhaust are you running?
Is that in smeaton grange?
Fkn beauty
The auto seems to behave amazingly, I have basic bolt ons with no intercooler and 3.89 diff gears and stock tune. If you happened to have drove yours untuned did you notice a difference in the transmission behaviour with the tuning?
No I didn't drive it with out being tuned
best thing i done was put a shift kit in the 4lg60 and a corvette servo with aluminium accumulator pistons, then get it tuned, or use a hp tuner . The taller rear gear ratio really comes into its own with these things done, till then mine was an axle tramping mess that couldnt apply the torque, felt doughy too. Neck snapping chirping fun machine now .
What trans you got in that stock or ?
Is this a L36 with adapter plates for the m90 or have you just moved where the alternator normally sits ?
It's the L67 based supercharged v6 with m90 supercharger with air to air intercooler plate , the alternator is in standard factory position
Where did u get the supercharger from
Looks nice an sounds great only thing I didn't like was you didn't find enough room to give it a good go
I own a stock super 6 Vy wanting to get it intercooled which is better W/A or A/A ??
A2a is definately easier and theres no risk of water escaping where it shouldnt, but w2a is definately better.
W2A can also be setup so the A/C cools it ive looked into it heavily
fuck superchargers sound so good
Whats the high pitched sound? Gearbox? sounds awesome!
The supercharger
... really?
Hey mate was this a l67 top swap or hole motor swap ?
It's l67 bottom end but in my earlier videos theres more details of engine build so go check it out 👍
How the vy Calais are selled as autos my brother put a manual gearbox in
Not hard to do a manual comversion hah
@@Jack13893 Why would you. The automatic can handle the torque that those 3800s put out. Remember GM has been doing this with these engines since the mid 80s with the Buick GNX.
where did you purchase the supercharger from?
it comes with the engine depending what VY commodore you get. I currently got a VY S badge and its an Ecotec 3.8L meanwhile this is a VY Calais L67 supercharged. You can get them aspirated as well
Hope this helps
Would u sell it ?
That's mean as
What’s your oil pressure sit at on idle and near max rev
30 psi+ to 60 psi+
SUPER6 PRODUCTIONS Appreciate it mate
Love the build 👌
You had your transmission tuned as well?
Why’s the idle keep changing and not sit at stabler rpm not a criticism just genuinely curious
Being air to air intercooled with big cam its a common way they idle
Called a large cam cause the stock came isn’t good for performance use
Having such a large intercooler and long pipes makes it surge a fair bit at idle as the pressure spikes up and down. The iac valve tends to make things worse as it reacts too late. Ecu has a hard time trying to trim fuel too. They are a bitch to try and tune lol. Nice setup though. I have a Vs with a similar setup
Hey mate who tuned it? Cheers
Hey mate it's tuned by brett at
B and T automotive in ingleburn Sydney
@@super6garage864 thanks mate
Very... Very... Tidy...
Should of done a manual convert too
A getrag would go kaboom and why bother doing a possibly 4000 T56 manual conversion when a built auto can handle the power and shift faster
@@ESISTTIGER he’s doing drifts in this video so why not use manual, but yeah auto is way better in terms of shifting
@@Name-yp3pi $4000-$6000
Just for T56 manual conversion cause a 5spd getrag would not hold up with that torque when the auto and if done right can hold up to 600hp+ getrag would be noisey within a weekend at the track
On top of that the car is a cruiser if a cruiser is manual than its not a cruiser
@@ESISTTIGER it's just more fun being able have more control over the car you know, but i can understand why you wouldn't use a manual👍🏼
@@Name-yp3pi yeah it can be fun but can also bring other problems too
Left it auto? Sounds like a boat.
Not worth manual converting these cause the L67 kills manual boxes and you can have built autos which have 0 slippage and more reliability
@@tomh894 they didn't sell l67s as manuals because they make so much low down torque and over the long run the 5 speeds dont like that
Monaro CV6 only came with an auto box when GMH discovered the l67 was quicker in midrange than the CV8. The V8 boys didn't want a bar of that so they downtuned the V6 hence the many tuning possibilities for the l67.
🥹🥲
Better with a quiet exhaust. Can't here the charger.
