I don't care what people say, I love Marial. She's actually an interesting character and her motives are realistic. She loves Catherine but still cares most about her own wellbeing which is natural. I find it very moving that even though she's loyal to Catherine's reign she still won't harm or betray Archie if he's in the way as she loves him as a father. Even when she betrayed Catherine she did so in a way that kept her safe, and when they weren't friends for a while she never kissed up to her. Plus we've all had that friend who was with a guy we could never bring ourselves to like, lol. Her situation is complicated so I don't blame her for not being a "perfect" friend.
Not sure what the writers are trying to do with Marial's character. She betrayed Catherine like 3 times in this season alone, and they still went with the whole 'best friends finally make up' arc.
@@theelectricprince8231 Elizabeth knew about the Archie/Puckachev plot too and she didn't tell Catherine. She didn't even try to kill the imposter. By this logic, she's even more of a traitor than Marial who eventually told Catherine everything and tried to help her by showing her the rally. Everyone betrays Catherine. Elizabeth and Marial just happen to do it with no ill intention and they're good assets to her, hence why they're still alive.

Marial has betrayed Catherine multiple times, she only cares about being rich and part of the court, she plays victim all the time, she was awful to Catherine when Peter died to the point where Georgina made more sense than she did. SHE EVEN ALMOST SHOT CATHERINE'S BABY SON PAUL AND DIDN'T GIVE A FUCK. So please, spare me the "no ill intention" shit on Marial's part.
Love Marial as a character in the story, but Catherine forgave her far too easily and quickly. She deserved her arrest, and this is validated by the fact that at the end of season 3, she betrayed Catherine again, showing she learned nothing and never changed.
I like the part when Marial was trying to make amends and Catherine just had her dragged by the guards. Her face was like damn it..! 😂

There’s no reason why Marial had to save Archie and betray Catherine AGAIN. If there is a next season I hope she dies
Archie practically raised her. She was loyal to Archie long before she was loyal to Catherine.
