  • Gilroy Gardens is a beautiful theme park in northern California. This park originally opened as Bonfante Gardens in 2001, but it was later renamed Gilroy Gardens and was operated by Cedar Fair until recently. This park does a lot of things well as I'll cover in this review.

    Gilroy gardens actually has plans to expand to include an adventure park, which will include zip lines, bike/hiking trails, and chair lifts.

    Why is your channel not bigger!? Just nonstop incredible content. You and coaster studios are BY FAR my favorite coaster content. Great stuff, man. Keep it up.

    Beautiful! The most charming looking park I've ever seen, even more so than Disneyland I think. I just wish there were a few more adult rides, then it would be perfect.

      It's definitely targeted towards families so not sure that will happen.

    My family was just there this weekend. The park is very pretty to walk around and yes, the rides are mostly set for young kids. My oldest at 11 still had a good time.

    Great video! We drove up to Gilroy from Los Angeles last year. This park is by far the best 12 and under park I’ve ever been too! Great staff great experience. Your video explains everything to a T! Happy to be a new subscriber

    Being a fan of botanical gardens, this park is a MUST! I 1st saw it on PBS Victory Garden as well as Florida's Cypress Gardens. The man that created the trees, took the "secret" to his grave. Very unique trees. Glad Paramount didn't mess it UP! Cedar had likely other plans and to "me" was more of a miss match in what the companies future goals would be. PPL balk over the price, but these type of gardens aren't cheap. Esp. in California w/ water crisis. I've been to San Antonio w/ a lot of fountains and stuff NOT working due to low aquifer. Excellent review Canobie. There are also plenty other places in that region to visit. Winchester House, Legoland, Napa Valley Railroad + vineyards.

    When I first visited the park I was shocked about how beautiful the park looked, I never lived too far away from the park and always thought it was for toddlers, but it turned to be a pleasant and enjoyable experience for even a teenager. Did you visit cga as well?

    I’m watching because we’re actually planning to go here soon (like within the week).
    This park is perfect because we aren’t into the long lines, major herds of people.

    I had no clue that it's no longer in the Cedar Fair family. I was already doubtful that I would ever visit here, but now, it's highly unlikely. It sure looks beautiful though.

    Can please tell me if they allow Platinum Pass holders to get free parking?

    • @thisguy_w0n
      @thisguy_w0n Před rokem

      Answering my own question: Yes. A platinum pass will still grant you free parking for the rest of the year. Otherwise it's $25, as of 9/17/2022. Source: I'm in the parking lot right now.

      They still do, but it will likely end after this year.

    **Me, a Platinum Pass holder, watching this video after just now realizing that Cedar Fair no longer operates Gilroy Gardens, after booking a trip to that area for CGAmerica, and wondering if I can still use my Platinum Pass at Gilroy Gardens...**

    Sea World parks: excuses me? Have you yet seen Busch Gardens Williamsburg.....
    Cedar Fair parks: congratulations on the golden ticket award

      I do think Busch Gardens Williamsburg looks better, but this is extremely underrated and not far behind.

    So weird how the Platinum Pass still worked this year, and will continue next year. Any idea why?

    • @CanobieCoaster

      That is odd. That wasn't the communication I got from the park.

    I wasn't even aware Cedar Fair stopped operating the park...we went there a few years back with my Knotts Platinum Pass while we were in the area...very nice park full of water features and gardens...and feels much cooler there with all the shade . My gf and I had a good time there , but yeah if you only care about rides...and at that price point , not a good deal

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před rokem

      Yeah the price point for coaster lovers isn't the best.

      Last. Just because it doesn't have the rides of the bigger ones.

      FYI - season passes aren’t much more expensive than a single day entry (I think you make back your money in like 1.5 trips). This park is geared more toward local-ish families coming over the course of a whole season rather than a destination park people visit just once.
