    The skill trial did not require the padawan to master all lightsaber forms. That is something very few jedi ever accomplished. It was a series of situations that required the padawan to have a great understanding of the lightsaber, AND the force, to overcome. It wasn't a black belt test to see how many forms they could master lol.

      Yep. Very few Jedi mastered more than 2 or 3 forms. They were all trained in the basics of all forms though. Jar'Kai, for example, would only be mastered by a Jedi who used either dual sabers or a double bladed lightsaber. Typically only the battlemaster would have mastered all forms.

    Jedi Ranks aren't "power levels". They are WISDOM levels.
    Jedi Knights can be stronger than some Jedi Masters. But that doesn't mean they are as wise.
    For example, Jedi Knight Anakin was stronger than many members of the Jedi Council such as Jedi Master Eeth Koth. But Anakin was hot headed and impatient.
    Padawan Ahsoka is stronger than Jedi Master Jocasta Nu who ran the Jedi Archives. But she was still just a child.
    I could name several other examples, but remember that Jedi Ranks are based on Wisdom. Not necessarily power.

When Jedi's decided to participate in wars it was always with great controversy ans usually half the order objected to it. @@Crusader-tg1wx Actually, I doubt the bounty hunter’s guild would have a problem with it. They worked with quite a few different groups and would probably invite them into the fold. The Jedi, however, probably would not be okay with the it. They’re infamous for hunting down other force sensitive organizations, pretty much only those that matched the Jedi ideology perfectly were left around, like the sages of the kel-dor and priests of the ithorians. It was very rare for an organization of force sensitives to escape the jedi’s ego and cowardice.

    • @InSanic13
      @InSanic13 Před 2 lety +83

      Each of the seven lightsaber forms was developed at a different point in the Order's history. Form I was specifically adapted from sword techniques when they lightsaber was invented, and the rest followed from there. Instruction was handled by, well, lightsaber instructors, as mentioned in the video. Initiates learned the basics of Form I, while Padawans would choose the form they wanted to specialize in from there. There's not really a requirement to master a lightsaber form, though the Trial of Skill requires you to at least be fully proficient in one.

As for material, _The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force_ has information on the forms, and is pretty cohesive for a single source. Some interesting ethical implications with some of these- would the Jedi who collaborate with police or governments accept injustice to maintain peace? If the options are slavery or war on a planet, what would they choose? And what are the ethical procedures of the Jedi who do generic experiments? Seems like messing with the force in such a way can have horrible and dangerous results.

    • @yaujj65
      @yaujj65 Před rokem +5

      Well the first question is answered, although I know 2 cases where the Jedi uphold the Republic injustice with the massacre of the True Mandalorian and subjugation of the Kaleesh.
      The Jedi are still good but they have become stagnated and follow the Republic even when they become corrupted.
      I think the problem is that the Republic and Jedi are too interconnected. I am not sure whether they are codependent

    • @ThePa1riot
      @ThePa1riot Před rokem +2

      The thing is, a Jedi can only do so much. They’re just one person with maybe a padawan helping. If there’s some kind of grand scale injustice, they can’t just wave a hand or a lightsaber and magically fix everything.
      Consider Qui-gon on Tatooine. He can’t single handedly end slavery across the planet, at least not with the time he has, but he can help out where he can by freeing Anakin and trying to free his mother.
      As for the researchers, regular scientists have ethical guidelines as to what they’re allowed to do with experimentation methods, I don’t imagine the Jedi wouldn’t also.

      1. I prefer the Sith, and if I were a Sith I would prefer to have either Plagueis or Darth Bane (Dooku is an honorable mention). Plagueis because he would actually care about me or at least want to keep me around, as he believed the Rule of Two to be done. He would allow me to benefit from his midichlorian research, allowing us to become immortal overlords. He would also see me as an equal partner after a long enough apprenticeship. Bane, due to his principled outlook compared to most Sith, and his willingness to make me as good a Sith as I could be. If I were a Jedi, I would want either T'ra Saa, Luke Skywalker, or Kyle Katarn as my master. T'ra Saa due to her being a Clone Wars era Jedi that could be quite devout to the Jedi Code, but who could love and be quite motherly. She could see you as a person and be there for you. Luke, due to his fixing of all the previous Jedi issues and the likelihood that I would probably wind up as one of the most powerful Jedi of all time. And, Kyle Katarn due to his more balanced philosophy, and his skill as a teacher.
      2. My favorite era is either the Fall of the Republic/Rise of the Empire Era (1,000 BBY-0 BBY) or the collective era of: the Rebellion era, the New Republic era, the New Jedi Order era, and the Legacy era (0 BBY-4 ABY, 5 ABY-25 ABY, 25 ABY-37 ABY, and 37 ABY-140 ABY). I particularly like the Legends Clone Wars era due to its consistency and the quality of its stories (minus TCW 2008 as it retcons way too much good stuff to fit). The Empire and Rebellions era for a similar reason, just less so. The New Republic and New Jedi Order eras are when the creative minds of the writers were at their peak, for good or ill. Plus, I like the NJO's members about as much on average as the Clone Wars lineup. And Legacy, because the Legacy of the Force novels were damn good, and the Legacy comics are horribly underrated.
      3. My favorite film is "The Empire Strikes Back", as I would say it is objectively the best of the films in all areas. "Revenge of the Sith" is a close second, followed by "A New Hope" and "Return of the Jedi". As for Galen, things would be a better outcome for the Rebellion if Vader was dead, but would progress similarly.
      4. I prefer Shaak Ti because she was a badass, but so was Aayla. I do find Aayla's story of losing and eventually reclaiming herself very touching, and very heartbreaking in its end. As the reason she gets lit up so bad in Order 66 is due to Commander Bly and his men caring about her so much that they didn't want her to suffer. They wanted her end to come swiftly and almost gently, as she did die on the first volley, and the rest was insurance.
      5. Aayla already has Kit Fisto, a stint with her Master Quinlan Voss, and a fling with Commander Bly. As for Shaak Ti. She never struck me as one for romance, but she would be the only potential option. I say potential, because the likelihood still is not great.

      It's the same as the old one here in this video with some differences, a couple of differences I know is that force-sensitive individuals can join at any age instead of being taken very young like in the old days, love is encouraged between Jedis instead of being shunned due to fear of falling to darkness, love is a powerful emotion after all and lastly, they remove themselves from political galactic affairs, the new Jedi order is their own sovereignty in the galaxy and while they work alongside the galactic republic like the old Jedi order did to some degree, they don't take orders from them, not even from their new chancellor, under the leadership of Jedi grandmaster luke skywalker, the new Jedi order takes peacekeeping taskforce very seriously.
