You must see Eddie's eruption live solo from 1986. It is mind blowing the sounds he can make with a guitar
^ This right here. On YT, "Eddie Van Halen - Eruption Guitar Solo (Live in New Haven 1986)."
Live without a net please!
Seconded! It's one of, if not THE, best guitar solos ever!
that is a great solo, but everyone neglects michael anthonys solo and alex van halens solo from that same concert, and thats kinda sad because they are both just as much a master of their craft as eddie
czcams.com/video/L9r-NxuYszg/video.htmlsi=p1JIwWhzZvEiFmwD
It is not a 1970's banger. It was a single on the Van Halen "1984" album, which was released in 1984. Technically though, this single was a prelease single that was released in December 1983.
Yeah, I was gonna say the same thing!
40 years ago this month it was released….i feel old but when I hear Van Halen I feel young again !!!
@@Show_time3 "And the Cradle Will Rock..."
Look for Eddie’s eruption live solo. He also was born in the Netherlands with his brother Alex. Wolfgang is his son and played with him on tour before he passed away.
Oh that’s a much must listen and watch that’s just amazing
Definitely the eruption solo, absolutely amazing!
Yes
I second this, Eruption is what you need to listen to - I’m suprised Jump was suggested, I know it’s a classic but Eruption showcases them better
@@kittyr7095 no, it showcases Eddie mot the band and the people who say this is amazing don't play guitar those that know, know its mainly arpeggios, sounds great but its basically a finger exercise, like sweet child of mine is an exercise.
Dude, it was the 80's and you can hear this played at basketball ,football games.
It's a motivation mood song to hype up the players.
Legendary 80's classic rock !
Van Halen were among the first to show that you didn't have to be all serious and dressed in black to play hard rock. And Eddie really developed the tapping technique and made it famous. Actually, when they started out, Eddie played the drums and Alex played the guitar. Good thing that they switched!
Saw them live in the 80’s!!! What a time to be a teenager.
Eruption is what you want to watch , Eddie's guitar solo
Eddie played both the guitar and the keyboard. His older brother Alex played the drums. Their father was an accomplished jazz musician from the Netherlands who emigrated to California when the boys were very young, and both of them took piano lessons before picking up the guitar and the drums. Very late in the band’s career, Eddie brought in his son Wolfgang on bass, at which point there were three Van Halens in the band.
Eddie is widely considered one of two or three of the most important guitarists in rock history. There might have emerged greater virtuosos since his breakthrough, but like Jimi Hendrix before him he was an innovator who changed everything going forward. Also, his virtuosity was always firmly planted in his staggering musicality - it wasn’t about finger athletics for its own sake, it was always about music. And that’s why he is revered to this day and always.
You need to watch their song "Hot for teacher " and their older song " Mean Streets".
Wolfgang is Eddies and Valerie Bertinellis son. She was an actress on family ties . Only child. Alex is Eddies brother. You mustbwatch eruption Anthony. Long one. But one that made him so popular. May not know him but know the song type. Well, add Glen Campbell to the top of heap of guitar top tierl 😅. When Eddievhas trouble figuring outba guitar part he would call Glen. ( session worker 50s, self taught and could not read music) also could play about 8 instruments ( including bagpipes-- and well) singer. Please please check Glen out. Grew up on his stuff in 60s 70s
Valerie was in One Day At A Time and HOT In Cleveland with Betty White
Eddie was not just a GOAT guitarist. He was an innovator in sound. His “brown sound”. His 5150 amps. On Poundxake he ran a hand drill through his pedal board. His mark on the music industry will last forever. That’s what makes him one of the greatest of all time. He built Frankie (his red guitar) by just figuring out what worked for him. He even painted Frankie himself because he and Alex were poor and hand to scrounge up parts and instruments. He also played the keyboards on “1984” and beyond. He’s also the guitarist on “Beat It” with MJ.
Alex (drummer) is Eddie's brother. It started with Eddie being the drummer, and Alex on guitar, but then they switched....the rest is history..... Fans were concerned about Eddie playing the keys!! They did not want to lose the guitarist....hahaha WE got both!!!
You were so close! The Eruption solo was straight under Jump on that list you had in front of you. Click, sit back, and marvel!
Amazing must watch
Yes, Eddie's eruption solo is amazing. It's worth reacting to. ❤❤❤
Love this Song!! They look like theyre having a blast, and so much fun.
This was more typical of their 80s music, with more synthesizer. Their 70s music was more heavily guitar driven. “Eruption” is all Eddie and his guitar.
Listen to the Eruption for the love of God. You will learn who Eddie was bro. One of the legendary players of all time. RIP Eddie, thanks for all the great memories. Rest easy.
I did a skydive once that was videoed and this song was in that video. A perfect fit! This song was HUGE and played everywhere.
Was that in New Zealand?
@@timrussell9869 No. outside of Chicago.
We used to put that on videos at my dropzone in NZ. Also Tom Pettys Freefallin...@@lorriredmon8212
Eddie did the riff on MJ’s Beat It. Check it out.
Yes, it took me many years to figure that out but it’s him
Riff was Steve Lukather (front Toto) the solo was Eddie
Eddie and his brother Alex, the drummer, are the brothers van Halen, witch is an ordinairy Dutch name.( I'm Dutch) these guys did good in America so lots of Dutch guitarist thought they might have a go and try making it in America....the ultimate dream. So proud to say we have some real good musicians down here!
Michael Anthony is the bass guitarist, Alex, Van Halen, drummer, Eddie is the genius behind the guitar. David Lee Roth was the first singer for the band after 1984 they split up and Sammy Hagar became their second legit singer. There was another one in there, but he didn’t last. If you want to hear a good guitar solo from Eddie Van Halen play eruption live. You’ll love it brother
Eddie Van Halen is the one playing the main guitar and keyboard wearing the yellow jacket. His brother is the one playing the drums.
It baffles me how this could be mistaken for the 70s, EVERYTHING about it SCREAMS the 80s, the synth, the clothes, the hair, the vibe.........
The synthesize electric piano was daring for its time.
This is a 80s song / watch ERUPTION for Kick-Ass guitar solo
This was my dad’s favorite band and song specially so thank you ❤
“Running with the devil” and “Panama” by Van Halen are amazing as well. Check those out if you haven’t
you must check eruption solo from 1978 the album version next live from 1986
Eddie was keyboard and guitar. Alex on the drums is his brother. When Michael left Eddie’s son Wolfie became the bass player, but he has daddy’s skills on the 6 string too.
I about died when you said that's all 70s style🤣🤣🤣🤣 80's Eddie was born in Amsterdam. Eddie and Alex are brothers. Wolfgang is Eddie's son. Eruption live guitar solo 🔥🔥🔥 Fun Fact Eddie did the famous guitar solo in Michael Jackson Beat It.
Great Reaction to a phenomenal classic rock group with the eruptive guitarist.
Dime from Pantera is a goat!!! Check out Domination by them
Eddie Van Halen Eruption Guitar Solo
The Guitar🎸Solo in *Michael Jackson's (Beat It)* was played by *Eddie Van Halen*
Riff was Steve Lukather and the iconic solo was Eddie Van Halen 🤘
@@aaronherbison7316👌
Cleaned up my comment 👍
So i find it funny you and BP didn't realize that the keyboards are used in this song but they are hardly shown in the video. But Eddie is a trained pianist and can play the drums also.
Another great guitarist to check out is Johnny Lang. Hi song Lie to Me was released in 1997 when he was just 16.
*Eddie Van Halen (Eruption) Guitar🎸Solo*
This one came out in 1983. 'Hot for Teacher' has a longer solo for Eddie.
Eruption - live; Hot for Teacher; Panama; I’m Your Ice Cream Man…there are so many. Wolfgang is his son. Alex is his brother and the drummer. Enjoy!
Eddie was a guitarist like no one that has ever played the guitar. He was self taught and even trained extremely experienced guitarist are not able to replicate his playing or can even imagine how he could figure out how to do the things that he was able to do with the guitar. Sammy Hagar has a new band and he is wanting to play the songs of Van Halen but even with an amazing guitarist as Joe Satriani he is unable to recreate Eddie's sound or even come eve nnnnnb close to Eddie's playing in his early years. No guitarist has ever made more young people decide to play the guitar as Eddie has. GUITAR WORLD MAGAZINE named Eddie "the Guitar God " and they have never named any other guitarist "the Guitar God ". Eddie was a musical genius? A musical savant/protagy. They say that Eddie didn't learn how to play the guitar but rather the guitar had to learn Eddie and become an appendage of his body like people that have lost a leg in an accident and turn around and run the Boston marathon and easily win. He even has a song called "Poundcake" where he plays his guitar with an electric drill!! Just because he liked the sound that it made. When Eddie died every guitarist and rock and roll fan felt a terrible loss to the world in general. You need to to go down the Van Halen rabbit hole.
This one is a true classic. Grew up with this!
Roy Clark is a top guitarist of all time as well , he will shock you.
RIP EVH 🎸
Eddie and his brother Alex( the drummer) were the Van Halen’s…… these guys were legends.
XG has just dropped 'WINTER WITHOUT YOU' on 'The First Take' the Japanese music program on this week too!
So I'm happy if you react to them again!
Thanks Anthony, have a nice X'mas weekend! 🥰👋💕
For Eddie (the guitarrist:) definitely 'Eruption'. For the band maybe 'Hot For Teacher'...? (Their whole repertoire is really amazing and unique.)
Regards. 👍
If you want more of Eddie on guitar, the Eruption guitar solo is the ticket. The lead singer at that point was Sammy Hagar, who replaced David Lee Roth.
This is typical 80s sound & 80s style, very distinctive, not 70s. The title of the album this is from is actually called 1984. Eddie is the guitarist & also keys. He was classically trained on the piano since he was young, had a grand piano in his house, was an excellent pianist & well versed in classical music. The drummer, Alex Van Halen, is his brother. They're Dutch & came to the US as kids.
I see Eddie Van Halen's Eruption solo in your future.
Ain't talking about love is my favorite song.
Joe Satriani - Crush of Love
Eric Johnson- Friends
Yngwie Malmsteen
Save Your Love - Great White
More an 80s vibe than a 70s. The synths, vibe, and heavily produced mix on this are pure early 80s IMO.
I read through the comments below, a lot about Eddie's solo Eruption (Eruption is only a short part of the solo). If you listen to Van Halen's first self-titled album you will see this for yourself. There is only 1 comment about what many people apparently don't know...his contribution to Michael Jackson's Beat It, the guitar playing and the solo is also Eddie, he even redid the arrangement which Michael thinks is better than his own . You listened to JUMP from the album 1984, here the band almost collapsed because singer David Lee Roth slowly steered the band towards the more commercial side, much to Eddie's annoyance. Listen to Van Halen's previous albums.....that's something completely different.
Another guitar player to check out is Tina S with the cover through the fire and flames of Dragon Force, she is 15 years old and has 31m!!! looked at, look how she plays, looking around and chewing gum and then that solo. Here is the link: czcams.com/video/XpASSx0ecTU/video.html
FYI the guitar solo in Michael Jackson's Beat It was Eddie Van Halen and NOT 70's from 1984
Happy to meet Van Halen again .Return to the old day
When we were young.❤
Anthony Ray u need to react to Van Halen's Panama music video. U will like that.
OK my friend this song is on their 1984 album that the 70s I’m not gonna prosecute you for it I’m a huge Van Halen fan Eddie Van Halen tourist that probably ever lived. I give my props to Stevie Ray Vaughan die Stevie Ray Vaughan is good check out some of these guitar solos cause it will blow your socks off, he literally single-handedly changed electric guitar and how it sounded and how it looked then he was taking less poles and mixing it up with other guitars, mixing pick ups and everything else he did things to Marshall lamps. Nobody else thought of a part of my soul died when that man died in 2020 they were still rocking hard up until 2016 and he was still a young man when he passed away, he had so much more to give us really unfair. What is God take the good ones
Need to check out ( Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do ) 1995 with their new vocalist Sammy after David left. Sammy made Van Helen.
Also Eddie Van Helen lead guitarest past away a couple years ago with cancer. 1:28
Valerie Bertanelli from many TV shows including Hot in Cleveland was his wife ar this time.
You picked jump cuz it's most popular the second one on your screen was *#EVH** (Eruption)* Guitar🎸Solo
I highly highly recommend the George Harrison tribute performance of While My Guitar Gently Weeps featuring Prince.
Van Halen - eruption is good to hear his guitar solo
Eddie’s eruption live solo
An 80s Banger.
there is a video where it is only Eddie doing a solo.. it is the opening song for their album 1983 I think it was.. you should check them out and then maybe Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N roses and Wasted time by Skid row.. You cant go wrong with skid row, but that is my favorite one. Also Bon Jovi.. all of those are awesome. Want some 70s rock? check out KISS..
Eddie, the guitarist and Alex, the drummer are brothers
One of my greatest regrets was not seeing them in concert in 1984...gee the hours listening to this album. My brother went ( he is now 53 and I am 55)...he said it was great but that David Lee Roth did too much martial art stuff...He wanted more Eddie. I was the older sister and a dumb ass.
Dimebag from Pantera
David Lee Roth was a black belt martial artist.
80s vibes
80s ❤😊
VH song Pound Cake. Eddie uses an electric drill on his guitar
This album came out in 1984
droppin' bangers with BP and now checking out Van Halen and Johnny Cash??? I'M IN!!!!!!
check Hot for Teacher and Panama for more guitar emphasis
Eruption solo and the song hot for teacher are great.
*Eddie Van Halen* the guitar player & *Alex Van Halen* the drummer are brothers *Wolfgang* is *Eddie's* son
Check out VH live in Tokyo with Sammy. Ed kills. It is insane how the man captured magic on earth. God bless him in heaven.
It was the 80’s! This singer is David Lee Roth. He ended up quitting and Sammy Hagar replaced him. Hager’s years were the better Van Halen years in my opinion. Btw Wolfgang is Eddie’s son and Alex is his brother. Wolfgang didn’t technically play with them UNTIL Hagar quit and by this time Eddie replaced Michael Anthony (boo hiss) with his son Wolfgang. But for me they were already washed up. However Eddie is so deeply embedded in my heart and I will forever miss him. RIP!
There’s nothing 70’s about this song
Check out XG - Winter Without You/ The First Take
If you want more guitar solo - check out Eddie Van Halen's Eruption.
Eddie’s guitar solo eruption is what you must hear
Alex and Eddie are brothers, Wolfgang is the son of Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli
If you want to check out an insane guitarist, try reacting to Tina S - Through the fire and the flames (Dragonforce cover), and also Tina S - For the Love of God (Steve Vai Cover). She was in her mid teens when she recorded the videos, she has just returned to CZcams after a few years off with her new band Spin Twice. Many people have reacted to her covers, with many reactors including guitarists and teachers saying she is actually better than the original !!
Eddie Van Halen was the ultimate guitar hero !! RIP to the GOAT…
Live- Eruption! The best guitarist solo ever! Gail
for your next beatbox reaction.. i kid you not 2023 tokyo loopstation.. BizKit Vs Mirsa. is absolutley CRAZY
Eruption is a must watch if you watch anything else from Van Halen that’s it👍🏽🐷✌🏼
Eruption!
You should do eruption eddie van halen 1986 and 2015 ,this is when he was 30 and 60 years old to see the difference, then you will know who's the best guitarist.
But when Eddie was asked the same question - he answered - Roy Clark.
Is this the guy from deadpool in disguise ?
If you wabt heavier and Eddie's guitar skills.. ? React to the songs "I'm the One", "Unchained", "Hot for Teacher", "Mean Street", "Panama".
Eruption is a complete solo from Eddie.
Try Mean Street for Eddie Van Halen magic!
Listen to “ Humans Being” by VH. It’s on the Twister movie soundtrack !! 🔥🔥🔥
You might want to check it Roy Clark
Eruption live if you wanna see his badassery on a guitar 👍
Wolfgang is Eddie's son.. Alex is his brother
SeaWorld classic song
JUMP!
their outfits are crazy cool huh, yellow tiger stripe EVH...
it's a vibe!
