I think the first one on Christmas was the 76 Wyoming Oklahoma game. Last one was 79 Pitt Arizona game Pitt used my high school for practice that year. They stayed at the Pointe a few of miles away.
The last Fiesta Bowl where the automatic bid went to the WAC Champion and also Arizona St in there last football game as a WAC member. Arizona St and Arizona joined the PAC-8(making it the PAC-10) for the 1978 season.
The construction was adding an upper deck to the end zone stand and opposite stands. The end zone seats were removed 4-5 years ago. The stadium went from 57,000 for this game to 73,000. It's now down to 54,000
Fiesta Bowl was played New Years Day first time 82 Penn Stare USC. Penn State Ohio State in 80 was last one played before New Years Day until Playoff format
