Fall bass fishing really use to be my enemy. For years and years I would always try to find exact patterns as to what the fish were doing and I would always be disappointed out on the water.
It seemed like every time I went out during the fall I would just catch one bass here and one bass there. Eventually over the years I have just found that the best way to go out and catch bass during the fall is to simply cover water and just go down the bank.
You might catch a bass on a log here, a bass on a boat dock there, 2 bass on a submerged grass patch over there, that is just the way fall bass fishing is.
These lures I really find to be the best this time of year!
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

Literally just typed northern fall bass fishing into the search bar and you uploaded 55 secs ago with this video! Couldn't be happier!!! 🙌
He's a solid coach.
@@PalmettoParatrooper to the point and honest. I agree with your comment.
Yep awesome content.
How can I get that amazing hat. I want one so bad! Love this video thank you
Was throwing the spinner bait and chartreuse/black back square bill today. Also had the plopper out too, cause I’ve been crushing the top water with them the last two weeks. There is simply nothing better than a blowup on the top water! Doesn’t matter how many times you see it, it’s magical everytime
Yup it's amazing to see such beautiful animals in action.
Spinnerbaits and Squarebill cranks are definitely 2 of my favorite baits to throw in the fall . I typically throw a walking bait instead of a buzzbait but all in all completely agree with the list
I decided to go with your recommendation of the zoom ol monster in the green pumpkin magic color
With a small 3/32 nail weight
After starting an early morning adventure today with a white swim jig and no luck . The bite was tough so I switched over. I ended up landing a 4lbs large mouth that put up a very fun fight
I have never caught such a large fish on soft plastics like a worm. It was a fantastic way to end my morning of fishing.
Thank you Tyler for all the great tips and consistent content., it really has changed the way I look for fish and lures I use.. I didn’t get discouraged I kept trying and it paid off.
Great video man! Going to get after it this weekend. I love the spinner bait trailer explanation.
Very helpful & informative without fluff. Thank You 👍
Another great video. Very informative. I've been finding the large mouths at the drop off points, around 30-40 feet from shore. Casting to the usual cover and under the docks, the usual places I find bass in the summer, has not been producing anything. When I go out more towards the middle, where the water starts getting deep....there I am hitting the bass...with the baits you describe here.
Good stuff Ty!
The whoosh bite is exactly what happened to me yesterday. The water was kinda clear so u used a translucent color and downsized my willow to a #3.5. then I tied on a Tennessee shad colored bomber square A and put my trolling motor on 3/4 power and started picking them up. Some were in the backs of the creeks and pockets some came on the main lake some in between. Keep chucking keep catching. I too use a spinnerbait without a trailer hook in heavy cover. Great point made about adding plastic. Makes perfect sense! Great video man.
Heading out on a new lake tomorrow this is great stuff thanks!
Excellent. But my 6" Bull Shad slow sink(bone) & Super Flukes are a must have.
Watched this video last night and then went out today and caught a 16-in largemouth. Biggest fish I've caught in a while (I usually wade or go from the kayak). Thanks so much!
I love throwing a gold black back Cordell super spot. I change out my split rings and hooks. I wasn’t aware that SK made a gold and black red eye Shad. I have never looked for any other lipless cranks in the color because of how many I catch on the spot.
I love how you sniped that fish off the log with that spinnerbait. You Sir, are a deadly weapon 👊😎🎣
I believe that by upsizing or downsizing the 'match the hatch' lure, that alone could make the presentation stand out to the bass. Or by throwing a lure that mimics a bass thats trying to feed on another bass' prey.
Gotta love a fresh fishing video 🎣
Great video with a lot of good information thank you
Awesome… Great content very educational with your videos.. keep up the great work
Absolutely
Great selection of baits !! Thank you for sharing 👍 Great video 📹 👍
Bro thank you so much for the tips. I can't wait to get some spinner baits & buzz baits & hit the lake
Just pounded bass in Northern Wisconsin with a square bill shad color. Buuuuut the one corner is chipped off and made Super eractic motion in the water. Worked awesome. I caught twice as man as the other guy in the boat and he had the same one.
Good stuff, Thanks Ty!
Thank you Tyler.
Really good stuff 👍🏻
I was swimming a creature bait just subsurface with a 1/2 oz tungsten weight and I caught tons of fish at a farm pond. The biggest one caught was 5.07 pounds. I watched my brother and dad size up doing the same thing. Sometimes you try something different and crazy and you catch lots of fish.
Great video once again. I can agree with you on the Buzz bait for sue. This time of the year they smoke the bass.
Always good content in your video’s! 👍🏻🇺🇸🎣
Caught five on a buzz bait yesterday....pond though..... my favorite as well....
Amazing how bass fisherman know what baits to throw and say you will nail them. But when they fish tournament they can't find them are loose. They have all the answers. Amazing
This video was so helful that I subscribed
Self proclaimed noob here. I was just getting frustrated on a quick outing because those bass that I’d figured out pretty well during the summer months are now on the move and I’m lost. Thanks for the tips
I like to tie a square bill that dives say 12-15 feet, and on a second rod I tie on a Suspending Jerk Bait that runs at 5-7 feet, and I can slow walk both profiles on the surface as wake baits. So, I am working every part of the water column from the surface to the depth of my diving lure, and everything in between with just 2 lures...
Ty my brother and I are too Forbes Lake in Southern IL. this Friday. I,ll let you how we do.
I had a awesome October 2021 power fishing for bass from the shore.
This years has been productive every time out with finesse presentations.
Will start trying power fishing again now. I fish the same lake from the bank and same spots every time out.
Just ordered some Gambler Stingers with your link!

Ohio for the win! So many videos for baits for specific time of year. Gota find content that’s relative to your area. Good deal! Good deal on the Tyler co vid as well
Great Video! Thank-you for all the great fall fishing lures!
Buzz Baits are great! Good video!
I rather throw a tube over a jig and I have good response with the Jacob wheeler buzzbait. The 6th sense jabberjaw is my go to square bill this time of the year
I wish all the weighted lures had the weight marked on them like you said once you get them in the tackle box or even on the line it is hard to tell what oz it is. Enjoyed you video again. Keep em coming
@Googansquad or Googan Squad marks all there tackle with weight. That’s the main reason I switching over to try them out.
Frogs work too! I'm so addicted i will use them in the winter.
Fall is my 2nd favorite time of the year. I catch so many bigs on jigs.
Bigs on Jigs describes my fall fishing as well...and this morning was no exception :)
You can use a buzzbait, but it may take awhile before you get a strike, especially in fall in Northern Illinois. It took me like 40 mins in a stained pond before a getting a bite.

I use that same spinnerbait except in all white with the same blades as that one!
Great video, but do you have any tips for fall pond fishing
I threw a live bluegill spine hooked and caught a 7lber last week
Yeah its back over 100 degrees in Missouri the last few days
My gold lipless is the only one that gets bit by bass. Multiple muskies on blue only. Its weird like that 😂
How do you know when to use a rattle and when to use a silent one?
I can catch fish all day in Lake Erie. But I moved to around Lake Auman NC and I have catches anything. It’s a warm clear water lake.
sup Tyler, get eat video, going Sunday 🎣. have them in box, thanks for tips👍. don't get out much so you help me make the best of it. ty tc
I still hate fall fishing.....bc I'm terrible at it.😟 Thanks for the tips, I'll try anything
LITERALLY caught a 4 and a 5 lber on a spinner bait this afternoon 🎉
I use to have a spinnerbait with two willow leaves. Medium size on the blades was metallic red and black stripes coming downward at an angle and the skirt was same color but straight up and down stripes. Idk who it was made by is was 15 years ago when I had it but I'm telling you no other spinnerbait in the world could match how they hit that thing. I literally caught so many on it the skirt was left with probably 5 strands of skit left and got bent. Never have seen one like it period and I never used a trailer or anything. I quit using spinnerbaits just bc I couldn't ever find another like it. I really will never forget that thing
Just got my pb 2 days ago on spinner bait
Been almost a week between videos, what’s happening dude. Hanging out for a new lesson 😉👍🏻
I like goooooold!
Fall is topwater time for me! But I pretty much strictly wade creeks for smallmouth.
That’s fun fishing right there

Oh damn! I got most of my work done today on that same squarebill. It’s an all year favorite of mine. Does it work all year? No. But Imma throw it until it does!
During winter jigs work amazing swimming a swim jig really slow. Vary your pause an retrieve an a football jig. Yoyo your swim bait an football head jig. You can use a yoyo retrieve on several lures. A square bill a lipless crank to keep these lures in strike zone longer, niko rigs are great to yoyo shaky heads an ned rigs an texas rigs as well. After each yoyo pause the bait or lure
I use the same spinner bait🐠😜
I love crispy grass
It's true, you can catch them on a moving bait with 47 degree water. I've done it in February with spinnerbaits. I wouldn't have believed it but they can swim super fast in cold water

Heck yeah, that's good advice
2:35 🥇 lure
lipless crank rattle bait looking like a bluegill absolutely slayed for me recently. It has been great, however.... I had one slap me as I was pulling it out of the water to recast, snapped my pole, the line, dropped my pole and grabbed the line still on the top of the water, quickly wrapped my hand and started pulling, he shook his head and snapped the line. So he now lives with a bluegill lipless rattle crank bait.
Ooh, that hurts!
Got my hat yesterday. S'pretty cool. I like how it doesn't have a discernable logo from a CZcams channel. Just a wooden bass
That’s how I wanted to make it!
@@BassFishingHQ good on you. Only youtube merch I've ever bought for that exact reason
Tyler, does your 15 min slow down and cover the area thoroughly rule apply. Or catch and move on. I know you said cover water. Just curious. Your vid’s are AWSOME. Keep up the great work. You are a master teacher.
I use that rule year round cause at anytime you can run into a small wolf pack of bass and slowing down with help you to catch them if they are there. Great question
You show a chartreuse perch anything especially Square Bill I'm watching. LOL of course I watch every video anyway. Now if it was a flat side you'd really have my attention LOL crushing fish with the C.P. flat side
🤔 buzzbait I'll give that a try.
I use the same crank same color 🤔
What is the price of this Japanese reg? And how will it be available in India?
Explain why you rig your spinnerbait trailer tail down instead of tail up?
100 degrees in Central Arkansas today 😵💫😵💫😵💫😭😭😭
I feel around me when the fish just hit from the side with no bite it's most likely a pike
I transitioned to northern area of NY to fish this season pre/post (spring, summer) and the bite hasnt stopped
This will be my second season for the fall , and basically fish till i cant take the cold temps anymore 😂😂
What time of day ,have you noticed to be productive and what baits have been beneficial for that situation 🤔
I like the fact that you cover the top 5 , which translates to me! A starting 5 lineup (5 baits 5 rods) any finesse baits would you throw in between 🤔 besides the stick worm??
Also depends where you fish, shallow or deep an if you fish the live grass or pads brush piles or rock as well
Also, watch activity on the water, for fish possibly jumping after flies on water surface watch also for birds. Lastly can use the triangle method using two trees visually draw a triangle an the points of triangle you throw your lure. Also can use triangle in transitions meaning a wall structure on shore changing to dirt an rock hill type structure next to a bluff which is a hill that drops from the peak angling down toward water deep into water. These drops can angle as far as 50 plus feet under the water
With the labeled jig, it will say 1/2 until you drag it across a few rocks. LOL
Thanks for the tips…I was using a whopper plopper, top water frog and sencos a few days ago and got skunked. I don’t think because of what I was casting but that part of the lake was full of dead vegetation and the water level was so low.
Wondering are sencos a year round good bait or not really in the fall?
I got a 6 lb largemouth on a bright green senko yesterday. But generally speaking, they have not been hitting the senkos. Water levels are low everywhere as the entire country is experiencing drought. Swim baits that go deep have been producing...but only 2-3 fish per outing. The action hasn't been that good this fall.
Stick worms (senkos, basspro, zoom etc) by accident I present a new method of the wacky worm
When casting the first initial contact when it hits the water, I’ll draw it back to the surface, and make it a top water with a few tugs , where it makes a “boiling water” sound then let it fall , the strike is so fast , sometimes the bass will snap at it as if it was a topwater, I’ll hear it and give a couple seconds to set the hook.
hopefully this is useful for ya! Good luck 🎣 🎣
A kvd splash works great even on lower water levels, an walking baits too. Also a football head jig. You can still yoyo a lure even if water is low. Although you won't have to lift rod tip as high. Last but not least always vary your pause an retrieve speeds. Fast crank 1,1000 then 2 1,000 then moderate 1,1000 2,1,000 then pause
pro tip. throw an underspin with a senko in the fall. I've caught 5 3/4 # bass in 44 degree water. casting past your target and reeling and jerking to your target and letting it drop to the bottom. then slowly draging it
Yes, dead vegetation reduces the oxygen in the area. Tactical Bassin says the fish will then move on immediate hard structure like rocks and lay downs until the winter sets in where they will then go to deeper nearby area for winter.
Do you use ark lures also?
You got caught with the bass hooked on the tree, even though you didn’t have a trailing hook 😂
New sub! Liked 🙏😍❤️😉😊🤩
I resist spending money on expensive lures I’m probably going to lose to snags, but I’ll have to get my first buzzbait, now, since you and Randy B agree on it.
I’d go with Tyler’s opinion and take Blaukat with a grain of salt. He’s a troll. It’s hard to believe that he has grown a following trolling people with his self righteous opinions. Every single pro I see using spinning gear uses braid to leader but he says that he is right and they are wrong. He’s also a socialist
No love for the Donkey Rig or a Weightless fluke?
Actually in the fall time o starte catching them with the frog
I produce Hank Parkers show and I tell everyone to throw a spinnerbait. I love a spinnerbait!!
I know its been a year but I am looking to grab some lures. If I buy from your sponsers , as a new customer. Is there any promo codes for any percantage off first purchase?
Hey
If it ain't chartreuse it ain't no use. Learned that as a kid.
Can’t beat an LC 1.5 this time of year
🐟
I caught my biggest largie during the fall
Yo
Hey man I ordered a hat off your website about a month ago and haven't received a email about it being shipped. Still done have it. Great video tho
i notice you dont use any Rapala's
👍
Exelent, you should not match the hatch. Stick out a little bit. The Perch fishing here in sweden work the same. If the river or lake is filled with roach i use a perch crank.
Not trying to start some argument like most people do, but could someone explain to me why people dont just use worms? Ive caught 3-5pound bass with literally just a worm…
Any bets that say there the same as his last years best baits 🤣 😂 🍻
From what I’ve heard bass can’t tell the difference between chartreuse and white
Can anyone help me understand what he means by "backs of creeks?"
Follow a creek as far as u can until it's so shallow that u can't go anymore and ur in the "back of a creek" now u don't have to go that far but just going up a creek is going to the backs of a creek
