Mojang sold Minecraft to Microsoft. So it would have to be Microsoft to release it to Meta to do it in VR.
Phil Spencer from Microsoft does not like VR or care for it, so he likely wouldn’t support that.

WiFi6 is now supported on the Quest 3 and can be connected directly to the WiFi6 on the mainboard of your PC. The delay is only about 5ms (without a router in between). Can this way PCVR quality similar to a cable connection be achieved with this WiFi connection? Thanks and regards

@@SamiiYouAnd that’s powered by an external, powerful device and doesn’t have to worry about a battery or having components inside of it to run itself, so you can’t really use that to compare as it doesn’t have to factor in the cost of the components to run the device, and that price tag came from solely things lime eye tracking and displays, while the quest 3 already costs $500 and with eye tracking may cost $100 more. Not dating my views on the topic, just saying that you can’t use it to compare

The prescription lenses is a game changer for me 😂. Thought I’d have to wait for 3rd party ones, also the pop out for glasses users. Help with my friends who have glasses or my little sister
Yeah, I love how they pop in and out really easily and come with a carrying case. Meta did a great job making this headset easily accessible for a wide range of people right out of the box 👍
@@TechisodeTV Indeed! Love they’re trying to absorbing near every needs or even wants to help make the next product better. Such as the headstrap. I remember when I got my Quest 2 I had long hair and put it in a ponytail, I felt SO bad with everyone else who has long hair especially women. Tis was a pain.
So this is interesting: The headset isn't actually heavier, as keeps being remarked upon.
The STRAP is heavier. The Q3 headset itself is, actually, several paperclips (grams) lighter than the Q2.
So the question is largely moot, since the weight is elsewhere than the front, or Elite straps need a side-by-side weigh in contest. But...again, it's a few paperclips, and not on the front.

Still haven't been able to find out exactly what sort of memory and storage it's using. ie LPDDR5 or LPDDR5X and UFS 3.1 or UFS 4.0. The downgrade in RAM capacity from the Quest Pro is annoying, but if they've shifted to LPDDR5X it may not be an issue at all. You should always get a benefit from faster RAM, but not necessarily additional RAM capacity.
It has LPDDR5X-4200.
I'm wondering if installing on PC is always an option or do games need to be installed on the headset, from the quest store of course.
Installing on a PC is an option if you're okay with streaming the games to the headset using airlink or virtual desktop. That's how I play games when I want the best possible visuals. You just need to have a fast enough wifi router. (WiFi 6 or better is recommended).
You can also play games from Steam VR instead of just the Meta store if you stream from your PC. Look up "virtual desktop" or "Meta air link" on CZcams if you want to learn more about it 👍
@@TechisodeTVWill it still be an option for MR content though? Based on Quest 2 I hadn't thought so. I bought Demeo on the Quest store (still installed on both PC and headset) despite usually buying everything on Steam when available (because of the visual quality and sales), purely because I love the MR mode. It feels so much more like actual table top gaming.
@@Av-vd3wk Cheers! Where'd you find that info? I've been looking but couldn't find it. Makes the downgrade from the 12GB LPDDR5 of the Quest Pro less important. Don't suppose you found the UFS specs?
Hopefully the controllers aren't are inconsistent as the Pro controllers. I use thd Pro controllers on the Q2 and they keep randomly disconnecting and the sleep mode and long wake up times are an absolute pain.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll have to test my Pro controllers with my Quest 2, then with the Quest 3 to see if there's a difference or any issues.

Next to all these technical specs, what I'd really want to know as someone who is considering buying a first pair of goggles is what I can do with it. I know there are a bunch of dedicated games for quest, but have no overview over that market at all. Can I, for example, stream games from my gaming PC, or is it otherwise compatible with my huge steam library? Or do I have to buy every software new?
You can infact do both of those things, and much more. Some games already have vr support built in and those that don't, can be modded with some effort. These headsets are great for emulation of classic systems too
You might need to explain your claim that the dock wirelessly charges the controllers. All info I’ve seen is they are powered only by a AA battery. Which would usually not recharge well.
When you order the wireless charging dock, you get rechargeable batteries to install. You can see the details on the dock page on metals website :)

Does the headset power use still outpace the charger, forcing you to stop playing in the middle of a game due to a dead battery? Or did they finally allow the charger to act as a power bypass so you can use the headset on direct power? Some of us play flight sims, where a cable isn't going to be an issue, and we're not wanting to be limited by a battery charge.

@@Flamgo-lw8xb But is that based on usage? I am looking to use it in DCS, which is a pretty heavy load. Also, with the mixed reality, I am hoping to combine it with a cockpit build, to have the best of both worlds, and I noticed that the MR looks to have a much shorter batery life, showing that load does matter. It should not be a difficult thing to do in the hardware to give the option to run off of cable rather than battery, and would be a great option for folks like me.

Depends on when you watched it. I uploaded the first video to talk about the reason for the split strap and the fact that the controllers support wireless charging. If you look at the upload date of the video you learned about these details in, it was likely uploaded after mine :)
Looking at the xr2 gen 2 chip itself looks like it should have 10 gbps usb 3 which is double from quest 2 hopefully they actually implemented it but would be best if integrated displayport over usb c(unlikely).
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 10gbps USB port that accepts a DP input, only output. Would be cool though. Maybe if Nvidia stuck with VirtualLink, they’d have actually implemented it.

Yep, @michaelbrown9405 was right. I tried highlighting the split in photoshop, looks like that needs some more work to look like a highlight instead of a colored strap haha.
@@TechisodeTVmy eyes saw it as a part attaching to the front right side of the headset, going up and back and down to the back of the head strap... a perspective error on my eyes.. but once it was explained I see it's the inverted V on the back of the headstrap.

There's already a way to play Xbox game pass in the quest to I do it all the time you need a controller which I bought and Xbox One controller it's a sideload app Works flawlessly I'm hoping the new legit app they make allows you to use your actual Quest 3 controllers instead of always having to have another controller available

I swear, somebody answer my questions...
1. The headset has its wireless capabilities but also can be used to play PC VR games. Do I have to care about the battery (if it's charged or not) if I want to play... I don't know Half-Life Alyx for example? Or will it just serve as a screen for my PC and it doesn't matter if it's charged or not.
2. Is PC VR going to give me a better graphics, fidelity?
3. Is PC VR going to give me more games, that are not available in Meta Quest games store?
4. I am confused between Air Link, PC-link cable, Virtual Desktop stuff... why so many options to just plug&play the games on PC (from Steam for example) ?
Sorry, I'm a total newbie in Meta Quest world. I owned a PS VR2 only before, and before that I only played VR games in VR games centre.
"I swear, somebody answer my questions..." You swear what? What kind of attitude is this?
1) Headset must be charged to play PCVR. If you play it wirelessly, you can connect a USB-C charging cable to keep it charged. Playing PCVR wired, the cable *may* sustain enough charge to not drop the battery life if your PC is capable (think thunderbolt ports). It does not serve as just a screen for your PC.
2) PCVR will give you better graphics assuming that you have a competent setup. If you don't, well don't expect much. Remember, you are processing a lot of pixels.
3) Yes, PCVR will give you access to a ton more games. You can sideload games that aren't in the store as well.
4) Air link = wireless made by Oculus/Meta
Virtual Desktop = the only way to do wireless before Air link was made. Which one is better is subjective.
Link cable = A long USB-C high data/power transfer cable. Most preferred method if you don't have a competent wifi setup. Think Wifi 6 and up.
These are honestly very simple answers. I recommend google and reddit to find more information.
You can play much longer while ite plugged in long as the connection has a fast enough charge to keep it powered while in use.. pc vr will always have better graphics..as it should my PC cost around $2500. Air link is a wireless connection that makes use of your home router if it's not good enough then you ll have to go with normal link which is using a hardwired cable instead..

I'd try reloading the page. CZcams normalizes the volume of uploads so it should be at a similar volume compared to other videos on the platform. I'll look into it though :)

If you're constantly trying/buying new games on whatever system you currently use, I'd get the 512GB. If you only buy three or four new games per year, then the 128GB will be more than sufficient. I personally got the 128GB version, play 6 to 8 different games, and have plenty of storage left. Remember that you can always uninstall old games that you don't play anymore to free up space for new games.
If you really want to know for sure, take a look at all the games you're planning on getting and look at how much storage space they need (It'll show you in the meta store). If that only adds up to something small, like 30GB, then you'll be fine with the 128GB version. But if it adds up to 80GB or more, you'll want to go with the 512GB version so you have room for extra games.

games get twice the graphic power they probably get twice the storage size. with that said, if you are on PCVR you might be okay with 128 if youll use the PC storage more often. 512 is future proof as opposed to the frustration of removing apps for new ones... Some of these new games are 30 GB. A 128 GB is really like 115gb so you'll have around 85 Gb after installing Asguards Wrath 2 that comes with it for Free. Then look at the updated games like Walking Dead and ALOT More. Think about that.

Updates need room. I bought the 64gb Q2 and had to delete games to accommodate updates. All the new tech in Q3 will be eating space on bug fixes and patches. 512 for me.
Probably wait if it's that important to up you. The Quest 2 originally came in 64gb version as well as a 256gb version. They discontinued the 64gb version in favor of a 128gb version after a few months. I can fully see them ditching the 128gb version of the Quest 3 and releasing a 256gb version later on.
The thing is that the price of memory has fallen so dramatically that I'd argue that anything less than one terabyte at this stage of the game is just Meta ripping you off. For example a one terabyte gen 4 m.sata drive costs $60 off New Egg. So why is there a price difference of $150 between the units? At 128gb and 512gb, respectively. It's bullshit.

No worries! For the people who had early access, Meta did say something about a wider IPD, but they were referring to the IPD range of people where it would be comfortable, not the physical adjustment range. So that's probably where you heard the wider range :)
