Hello, my name is Sara and welcome to my channel Crochet for Baby. In today's tutorial I will show you how to crochet this beautiful crochet border with fans. It’s fast and easy and you can even add it to any crochet blanket with any crochet stitch and even on knit project like baby blankets.
For the tutorial I used a light #3 baby yarn with a 4.5mm Crochet hook since that is what i used to make the blanket. You will have to use the same hook that you used to make your blanket with.
If this is your first time here, I've been doing crochet tutorials in Spanish for a while now and have been asked by a lot of my subscribers to do tutorials in English too. I hope you like and subscribe to my channel and if you see a tutorial in Spanish and would like for me to do it in English, please comment below with the tutorial number and I will gladly do it. I hope you enjoy my channel and if you decide to subscribe, thank you in advance. I also have a new knitting channel. Link if above.

if you do the single crochet row in a multiple of 6 instead of 10, it comes out even. then you wont have to skip over extra double crochets on the fan row's corners. this is a gorgeous border. thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial.
I just finished my blanket and I love it.
This blanket looks like cupcakes and dreams! Sooo lovely!

Absolutely love this border it certainly made my blanket look special thanks so much for sharing
Thank you so very much for sharing this. I just finished this border on a C2C blanket using the traditional stitch. I used the Red Heart with Love Renaissance for the whole body, and then the Caron One Pound in Ivory for this border with a J 6mm Hook. I did the sc and the DC rows of the border with the Renaissance, then the Ivory, Renaissance, then ended with the Ivory for both the last fan and the last row with the chain lace stitch. So very happy how this turned out. I think it just looked amazing with the yarn I used

Crochet For Baby thank you!
I’m a beginner,I luv these little beauties not sure if I’ll manage the last bit thank you teresa
You’re very welcome 😉
This is so stunning and beautiful! Do you have a written pattern? I would love to do this border but the blanket I want to put it on makes it hard to distinguish what I should do, outside of counting every stitch. I heard where you said each (opposing) side should have 30 or 40 (equal amounts). I feel like I missed something. Thank you so much for any help!
Love it!!
Thanks 😊
Love your work, could watch you all day even your videos in Spanish 😊 thank you for sharing 😘
Awww you’re welcome 😉 and thanks for your support with my channel 😊😘😘
Me encantaría volver hablar contigo.
Bueno espero que segamos en contacto y que volvamos a hablar pronto y así poder ponernos al día después de tantos años. Besitos
Nelly Ricardo sorry I only speak English but if you can write in English I will happy reply to your comment 😊😊😊
You’re so nice. But I think she meant to write to someone else since she writes that a dear friend of them both has died. Perhaps she was trying to reply to an email or at least it’s seems that way.
Crochet For Baby aww bless her, thank you so much Sara I appreciate your reply 💕
Love it
Thanks 😊
You know what.... I think I can do this 🙏 I was worried about my stitch count, then you showed us how to cheat! Thanks so much LOVE IT!!!

Gorgeous border thank you for sharing 🥰 the way you make the bow is genius as well 🤗👍
You’re very welcome 😉
Thank you for your tutorial! You are an amazing teacher. I love the way you explain everything, and why😊
You’re welcome ☺️
Beautiful. Just found you and subscribed to this and your new channel. Good luck from a very dull and wet Belfast NI. FYI.... I have a tall Holly tree right outside the front of my house. We've kept control over it so that its tall but not overly broad, it's a very nice shape. It is ALWAYS loaded with red berries...... such a delight to sit at my sewing machine downstairs on this wet morning and have this lovely tree to enjoy. It is a food supermarket for all the little birds. :).... Just a little picture from my window. Keep safe, I wish you well during this pandemic. Crochet hands link us across the world:-).
Thank you so much for your video! I am feeling like such a idiot tho lol I have "stich mental block" I had completed a pattern and finished off with sc before I found a border I liked, yours of course. So I now have been trying to count my stitches to make sure my top and bottom and then the left and right sides are equal but I trip myself up counting the corners. Soooo I am just going to try and wing it and pray I am not frogging half the night. Man do I feel like I should be hanging up my hooks!
Thank you great tuturial
You’re very welcome 😊
OMG WOMAN!!! I love your teaching style...your detailed instructions makes it easy to follow you. i have completed both layette boy/girl sets abd got great feedback...thanks again!
p.s. if i dont get it in English i go to your Spanish and vise versa...I am new to crochet
I’m so glad you like my tutorials. Thank you 🙏🏻 for your support and please share and tell your friends about my bilingual channel lol 😂 🥰
Me too 🙋
Thank you 😊
Love this! Was wondering if when doing the single crochet around the border first, does it have to be an even number? Or just matching numbers on the adjacent sides
Just matching number but then you adjust so that your corners are the same. Thanks for watching 😊
Love this border! I'm trying to find a pretty border for a granny square blanket though and don't know how I would make this work for that 😔
If you single crochet all along the outside as your first row then you can start from the second row in the video as normal. Just remember your corners would be sc,ch1,sc
@@theresemccrossan9646 thank you I did work that out in the end but mind block is a real issue sometimes haha
Hi hope u r well I like this stitch can u show how you do it
How do you crochet a scarf with this beautiful pattern?
Love this border. Has anyone told you when grabbing your yarn to do the stitch is way different then most pull theirs through. It works for you don't get me wrong...I just have never seen anyone crochet like that before.
Glad you like it and yes I’ve been told that before. I was taught to crochet by a dear friend who was taught how to crochet by her grandmother. She told me that where they lived wool was not readily available so in order to “save” wool they would crochet this way. Luckily the stitch looks exactly the same if done the other way. Thanks for watching 😊
I pulled my lawn through the same way Crochet For Baby tutorial lady does hers. I never thought anything about it.
I absolutely love love this border and I'm doing it now
Wow that’s great 😀 I re-taught myself to crochet “the correct “ way so I was told as I was getting lots of messages telling me I was doing it wrong lol 😂
Beautiful 😍
Thank you 🥰
If I may ask....what brand, yarn did you use for the #3 light weight yarn...I'm having trouble picking out a soft baby yarn for the blanket. Also, any idea as to the size of a baby blanket for bed or carriage? Also, if I make a baby blanket with the c2c stitch, is there a utube channel to follow in making matching little booties and a bonnet or hat for a christening. Thank you.
Can you put this on the shell stitch blanket? Here it shows a straight edged blanket? If you can please let me know. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thank you 😊
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blanket 😍 Can you please tell me what thickness is the ribbon you’re using please 😃
Glad you like it. The ribbon is 1/4”. Thanks for watching
Your video is amazing , i put it on the drunken granny blanket and it made it so amazing thank you
this is a really beautiful border, thank you so much for all your hard work.
You’re welcome and thank you for your support with my channel 😊
I always do a row of single crochet first no matter what border I'm doing!
Hello Love this border but was wondering is there is a slow version on this tutorial
Glad you like it but I don’t have a slower version. Y ou can however slow down any video here in CZcams by clicking on the 3 dots on top or the settings wheel at the bottom. Maybe this will help. Thanks for watching.
